Chapter 883: Wutong by the Water

Chapter 883: Wutong by the Water
"Boss, I didn't expect that this farm would be back in our hands after so many twists and turns." Wang Lei stood in the Red Star Farm and looked at everything around him with some emotion.

"Now that we're back, let's work hard. We'll contact Professor Ding to see if they can serve as technical advisors for our farm." Jiang Yan said while looking at the lake in the distance.

Professor Ding is not just a professor now, he is now the vice president of the Agricultural University. As for whether he comes or not, it doesn't matter, as long as he agrees to cooperate, it's a good thing, at least he can send some people to guide us.

"Also, organize people to clean up the lake. Look at how much aquatic plants there are. The land needs to be leveled and the fruit trees on the mountain need to be repaired. Don't worry about the labor costs. I will pay for the initial stage."

When contracting the farm before, Jiang Yan had discussed this matter with Shi Tou. Jiang Yan was the main investor, but he only wanted 30% of the shares. The remaining shares were all held by Shi Tou. Jiang Yan did not participate in the management, and Shi Tou was entirely responsible.

He originally felt that this farm would not be much different no matter how it was managed. But today he saw that this was not the case at all. This farm was ruined beyond recognition, and it could be seen that the workers here had become somewhat lazy. However, when they learned that the farm was contracted to an individual, no one wanted to stay and wanted to go back to their unit directly. This was simply great news, so they let the people go very straightforwardly. Now, except for the people brought by Jiang Yan and his team, the rest of the farm is just an empty shell.

All the things in the farm were packed up and sold to Jiang Yan for 100,000 yuan. Just now, Jiang Yan and Shi Tou counted the things in the farm. Not to mention other things, Jiang Yan and his team had their eyes on the Red Star Cattle, as well as the trained native pigs and Red Star Sheep. Basically, all of them had seeds and training materials left behind, which gave Jiang Yan a lot of room for operation.

You know, in the past few years, after Jiang Yan's vigorous promotion, the Red Star Cattle is now a breed comparable to the cattle in history, but it even exceeds them in some aspects. After all, what breeds of cattle does that tiny country have? We in the Flower-Growing Country have so many breeds of cattle, which is simply a far cry from theirs.

However, the country has also promoted the Red Star Cattle. Currently, there are a large number of state-owned ranches in Northeast China and Inner Mongolia, many of which are Red Star cattle. It’s just that Jiang Yan and his team are the breeding bases.

Now the domestic pork market is no longer dominated by white pigs. The production cycle of the local black pigs that Jiang Yan and his team raised in the factory is not much different from that of foreign white pigs, but there is still a slight difference in the meat yield. However, in terms of the taste of pork, the local black pigs taste better. So everyone has their own preferences.

The Red Star sheep bred on the farm before have almost no presence. The key problem is that there are too many breeds of sheep in the country, and the Red Star sheep hybridized by Jiang Yan and his team do not have much advantage, so they have not been promoted on a large scale. But let's be honest, the mutton bred on the farm before tastes very good whether it is shabu-shabu or stewed soup.

"Boss, this farm currently has more than a thousand acres of land, including the hill in front and the artificial lake. The total area of arable land is only 500 acres, and this grassland has 300 acres. There is more than 50 acres of artificial lake, and the rest is this hill."

"How much water is there in our artificial lake?" Jiang Yan asked.

"The water that comes to our artificial lake is mainly from the Chaobai River, with a daily input of up to 3,000 cubic meters. However, the river is a bit silted up now, and the daily input of water is decreasing year by year. The water that enters our artificial lake through the Chaobai River tributaries will then flow into the nearby Tonghui River and the moat again."

"Then we will organize people to carry out the river dredging work. We will also report this matter to the district government and try to get their consent and coordination. In addition, I will personally sponsor 1 willow saplings and load them on the repaired river bank."

Giving away willow saplings was something Jiang Yan had thought about carefully. The willow trees were the life Jiang Yan longed for. Jiang Yan even considered that after everything was done on the farm, he would build a row of Chinese-style villas by the lake, so that he could go fishing and feel the real pastoral scene when he had nothing to do. Moreover, Jiang Yan was not going to plant wheat and rice on the farm anymore. He would promote greenhouse planting and specialize in off-season vegetables. However, he would also set aside a separate area in his plan to plant organic vegetables and grains, which would only be used by his family, relatives and friends. After all, you can only feel at ease if you eat what you grow yourself.

Moreover, he will no longer adopt the traditional circular farming method. He is now planning to transform the farm into an ecological farm.

Ecological farms are a new model for protecting the environment and developing agriculture. They follow the law of ecological balance, develop and utilize agricultural natural resources under the principle of sustainable utilization, carry out multi-level, three-dimensional, circular agricultural production, and form a virtuous cycle of energy and material flow in the ecosystem.

For example, in a farm, rice, vegetables, and trees are the "producers" that convert solar energy. The pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, and ducks raised on the farm are the "consumers" in the ecosystem. Rice straw, leaves, and vegetables are processed into animal feed, while animal manure and high-concentration organic wastewater discharged from meat processing plants are sent to biogas digesters with current oxygen fermentation, where they are decomposed by microorganisms to produce biogas, providing energy for farm production and life. The biogas residue generated during the biogas production process is processed into pellet feed to feed pigs and ducks. The biogas slurry can be used as liquid fertilizer to irrigate farmland or fish farming, which forms a complete ecological cycle system.

The Dongfeng Farm in Chongming, Shanghai, takes the dairy farm as the center, and starts from the treatment of livestock manure and urine to develop swamps, comprehensively solving energy, environmental, feed and other problems. It also uses biogas slurry to cultivate green feed, which is not affected by seasons and climate, and is evenly fed to dairy cows; it uses the land purification function to concentrate organic wastewater and discharge it into the fields of aquatic crops such as wild rice stems and lotus roots. After a large area of land flooding, it not only purifies the wastewater, but also makes full use of the nutrients in the organic wastewater, promoting the harvest of aquatic crops.

Jiang Yan has already prepared the ecological farm plan. Jiang Yan believes that as long as he has this plan in his hand and shows it to Professor Ding, he will definitely be very interested. In other words, this is the fish that Jiang Yan is going to fish for at the Agricultural University.

As for the future planting ratio, this needs to be handled by specialized experts. Jiang Yan's words don't count at the moment, but it's obvious that making money is secondary for this farm. So you can just do whatever you want.

"When you go see Professor Ding later, give this plan to Professor Ding. If he has any ideas, you can ask him to come to me directly." After Jiang Yan said this, he took out a plan from his pocket and handed it to Shi Tou who was following him.

"Okay, Boss. By the way, Boss, do we need to change the name of this farm? I feel like it's weird to use the name Red Star Farm again."

"The Wutong Cottage by the Water. It can also be called the Wutong Cottage by the Water, which highlights its simplicity and elegance. Later on, I plan to build this farm into a mountain resort for entertainment and leisure." Jiang Yan thought for a while and said.

"Wutong Linshui, this name sounds better." Shi Tou said.

"Okay, let's call it Wutong Linshui."
