Too much fruit

Chapter 740 Wukong Sees the Awakened One

Chapter 740 Wukong Sees the Awakened One

"You're trying to run away after getting the advantage!"

By the time Sun Wukong recovered, Jiang Li had already run away. He looked up at the sky, so angry that he cracked the mountain under his feet with a stick, and his eyes were full of fire.

"Young people nowadays really have no moral principles at all. They take advantage of others and run away. Don't let me, Old Sun, run into you again!"

As he spoke, the golden cudgel shook the ground repeatedly, knocking the mountain down three feet.

But when the anger subsided, the monkey suddenly sighed, "Even you are dead..."

How could Sun Wukong not see where Jiang Li's magical powers came from? It was clearly the fruit of Yang Jian's Taoism.

The dignified True Lord Qingyuan Miaodao and True Lord Erlang Xiansheng ultimately did not survive the final catastrophe, leaving only their Taoist fruits to circulate in the world.

And from the fight just now, it can be seen that the young man's state of mind, Taoism, and strength are all extraordinary. Not to mention that Yang Jian does not have a chance to live again like himself, even if he did, he would not be able to become the dominant force in Jiang Li's body, but would only become a part of Jiang Li.

Thinking of this, Sun Wukong, who has a monkey nature, also felt a little lonely.

He sighed again, put the golden cudgel on his shoulder, and was about to take action when he suddenly turned his eyes slightly and caught two rays of Buddha's light approaching rapidly.

Bodhisattva Weituo and Bodhisattva Guangli flew over from the sky and landed not far ahead. They bowed to Sun Wukong and said, "Greetings, Great Sage."

“Two more…”

Sun Wukong had a keen eye and saw familiar traces in these two people, which made him feel even more lonely. However, he was not an ordinary person after all. Even though he looked like a monkey, it would be an underestimation to say that he had lost his mind because of this.

Now this body not only incorporates the Taoist fruit of the Monkey King, but also the Taoist fruit of Sun Wukong.

The Dao fruit of Monkey King in the golden hoop was integrated first, while the Dao fruit of Monkey King was carried by the golden hoop and worn on Wuzhiqi's head, which was considered semi-integrated. Wuzhiqi's three life-saving hairs were actually brought by Monkey King's Dao fruit.

The more he used the life-saving hairs, the deeper his fusion with Monkey King's Dao Fruit became. As his strength grew, he was gradually dominated by the Dao Fruit.

By now, Sun Xingzhe's Dao fruit has also merged with this body. Now it is not only the Monkey King who is here, but also the Monkey King who went to the West to seek Buddhist scriptures. In terms of strength, Xingzhe is not as strong as the Monkey King, but he has calmed his mind and is still better than the Monkey King in terms of state of mind.

The distracting thoughts in Sun Wukong's mind flashed by and did not leave any trace in his mind.

He carried the golden cudgel and circled around the two Bodhisattvas Wei Tuo and Guangli. Suddenly he sneered and said, "Half-baked. You have the status of a Bodhisattva, but not the conduct of a Bodhisattva. You two half-baked."

Wei Tuo and Guangli felt a little embarrassed when they heard this.

Sun Wukong was not forgiving and continued to judge: "You are better, at least your Taoism is not far behind."

This refers to Bodhisattva Weituo.

Then he turned to Bodhisattva Guangli and said mockingly, "You are far worse. To call you half-baked is actually flattering you."

"Even though I am not as strong as before, I can still beat ten of you half-baked people."

At the end of the conversation, the monkey kept shaking his head with a contemptuous look, but the two men did not dare to refute him. They even had a sense of awe, as if they were treating an enlightened being.

After judging the two half-baked people, Sun Wukong looked at them with interest, as if waiting for them to refute. However, the two of them remained silent for a long time, which made him feel very bored.

'But the look of not daring to refute is quite similar... Sigh, I am also old, and I have started to reminisce about the past.'

Sun Wukong tutted and continued, "The one who created this body is quite capable. Tell me, where is he? You all seem to be well prepared. You must have known that I would be resurrected, but with your abilities, you couldn't have predicted this."

Despised again.

But I have to say that what Sun Wukong said was accurate and correct.

Although the monkey does not look like a human, its mind is smarter than that of a human. Although it has just awakened, it knows the situation as if it had predicted the future, and is not unfamiliar with the current world at all.

"This is what the First Lord of our Buddhist country did."

Bodhisattva Weituo suppressed his fear and said in a neither humble nor arrogant manner: "The Buddha Kingdom has inherited the Buddhist tradition and has been passed down since the end of the Dharma. The current head monk is called Zhenru, and he is the greatest achiever since the founding of the Buddha Kingdom. The head monk is also waiting for the great saint. Please come with me and the two of us."

"No need." Sun Wukong waved his hand.

He shook his head, and four ears sprouted on both sides of his head, parallel to the original ears. His eyes flashed with golden light, with a sharpness that could see through the truth.

"The little monk was dishonest. He deliberately chanted the Dharma name to attract the attention of your abbot. If you keep thinking about it, you will definitely recall it. I didn't expect that there are still such people in this era."

Bodhisattva Weituo suddenly felt awe in his heart.

He spoke out the enlightened one's Dharma name in order to make the enlightened one pay attention to this and send down his spiritual consciousness. He did not expect that just this one sentence would allow the other party to see the enlightened one's realm of cause and effect.

In response, Sun Wukong just chuckled and said, "Although I haven't regained the Buddhahood, I have not lost my vision. Don't use your tricks to fool around. You don't need to lead the way. I will go directly to see him."

As he spoke, he did a somersault and auspicious clouds appeared, supporting his feet. He went westward at lightning speed. It seemed that he had already determined where the enlightened one was.

The two watched Sun Wukong leave like this, looked at each other, and Bodhisattva Guangli asked: "What should we do?"

"Continue to carry out the orders of the First Lord."

Bodhisattva Weituo looked to the west, pondered for a moment, and said, "As for this great sage, I believe the abbot will make his own decision."

The implication is, just forget it.

"In that case, let's go after that Yaoguang Pojun," Bodhisattva Guangli said, stroking his chin, "We will pretend that we don't know that the man has recovered..."

“My friend, you have lost your compassion in your mind.” Upon hearing this, Bodhisattva Weituo’s solemn expression showed a hint of strangeness.

It's impossible to really pursue him. Even if he is the head of the Dharma Protector of the Buddha Kingdom, he has no chance of winning when facing Jiang Li now.

What Sun Wukong said just now about beating ten people might be a bit exaggerated, but beating five is definitely 100% a problem.

He was like this, not to mention Jiang Li who had defeated Sun Wukong in one move before. If the two of them really went to chase and kill him, they would be courting death.

So, Bodhisattva Guangli’s suggestion was to chase but not kill, to keep a distance from Jiang Li, pretending not to know that Jiang Li’s injury had not healed, and to take the initiative to help Jiang Li go fishing.

If someone really believed it and killed him, the result would be...

"Good, good, this is really unkind." Bodhisattva Weituo shook his head and said, "But in order to complete the mission of the chief seat and in order not to expose our identities, we have no choice but to do this."

As the leaders of the fighting forces of the Buddha Kingdom, the two Bodhisattvas are not rigid. They are the kind of people who are willing to fight the enemy while considering the overall situation. So, sometimes it is normal to do things that are convenient for you.

So, the two of them flew towards each other.

······
······
On the other side, Sun Wukong rode his somersault cloud westward and soon flew across thousands of miles.

The scenery below changes from the Gobi Desert to plains, forests, and mountains. Occasionally, you can see tall Buddha statues standing, accepting offerings and worship from believers.

Everyone in the Buddhist country worships Buddha, and because the method of summoning is prevalent, even the most remote places are filled with faith and worship.

Of course, in order to gain worship and faith, practitioners in the Buddhist world are also quite active in doing good deeds everywhere.

The Bodhisattvas and Arhats above can sit on lotus pedestals and enjoy the incense offerings in peace, but the practitioners below do not have such prestige and status. If they want incense offerings and faith, they have to work hard. The interaction between these practitioners doing good deeds everywhere and ordinary believers offering incense offerings is a daily occurrence in the Buddhist country.

Thanks to the abilities of practitioners, ordinary people in the Buddha Kingdom can enjoy great convenience and their lives are much more comfortable than those of the people in the Great Zhou. However, Sun Wukong was not happy to see this scene after flying all the way here.

He accelerated his flight, auspicious clouds passed through the sky, and he came straight to the holy land of Buddhism - Lingtai Mountain.

The mountains here stretch out in a long line, and among the towering mountains and steep ridges, you can see Buddhist temples and pagodas everywhere, as well as Buddhist statues of sutra pillars. In the four directions of the mountains, there are also four mountain gods, carved in the shape of the Four Heavenly Kings, majestic and majestic, guarding the four directions.

Sun Wukong saw at a glance that these four statues also carried Dao fruits, which enabled them to gather incense. If a strong enemy came, these four statues could be directly activated to protect the mountains.

However, Sun Wukong is very good at transforming himself, and these four statues cannot stop him.

He flew directly over a statue, headed towards the center of the mountain, and landed on the top of the mountain.

There is a small temple here. It is located in the center, but it is not as magnificent as other Buddhist temples, and there are no shrines or Buddha statues. Above the gate of the temple, there is a plaque with the three characters "No Buddha Temple" written on it.

Seeing this, Sun Wukong raised his eyebrows slightly and walked towards the open gate of the temple.

Entering the temple, the interior is even quieter, with no monks or believers, only large trees and pavilions. Sun Wukong walked straight past and came to the back of the temple. In front of him, there was a cave on the mountain wall with the words "Wanfo Cave" written on it.

"The Ten Thousand Buddha Caves in the Wufo Temple?"

Sun Wukong rolled his eyes and said with a smile: "Is this a scam? Or is it just a sham?

Although Sun Wukong is good at conquering people with force, he actually has a high level of cultural attainments, after all, he studied under a famous teacher. He studied under the master Subhuti for ten years, but only practiced for three years. The first seven years were spent learning the etiquette of sweeping and cleaning, dealing with people, advancing and retreating, and the art of speech, courtesy and management.

Speaking of idioms at this time, it doesn't seem abrupt at all.

The sarcastic and teasing words were transmitted into the Ten Thousand Buddha Cave. Buddha's light was flowing inside, and a human figure was reflected vaguely.

“There is no Buddha outside of the body, but all Buddhas are in the heart.”

The sound of Sanskrit echoed, and a calm voice came, "To cultivate Buddhism is to cultivate the mind. When the mind is greatly enlightened, it is Buddha."

The mountain wall in front suddenly began to blur, shrinking, and was finally grasped by a white hand.

The Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave became a space in the palm of the hand in the blink of an eye, and the one holding the Buddha Cave was a lay Buddhist with white hair and white clothes. He was sitting under a Bodhi tree, smiling at Sun Wukong.

"The Kingdom of Buddha is in the palm of your hand."

Seeing this, Sun Wukong's face straightened, "Your practice is indeed worthy of being called a Buddha."

Even if the person in front of you is not actually a Buddha, his realm is no different from that of a Buddha.

"Are you an enlightened one?" Sun Wukong asked in a certain tone.

"Yes," the layman under the tree replied, "There is only one step in the promotion ceremony to the fruit of the awakened one, which is to have great enlightenment. To be self-aware, to be aware of others, to be aware of sentient beings, if you can reach this state, you are an awakened one."

If you possess the realm of an enlightened being, you will be able to accommodate the enlightened being’s fruit of enlightenment.

The promotion of this fruit is so simple and clear, yet so interesting.

When one reaches the state of an enlightened being, one can accommodate the Dao fruit of an enlightened being. However, since one has already reached this state, even if one does not accommodate the Dao fruit of an enlightened being, one is still an enlightened being. At this point, the Dao fruit actually only brings about supernatural powers and does not benefit one's state in the slightest.

A person who can accommodate the fruit of the awakened one actually does not care about the fruit of the awakened one.

For a person who can become an enlightened being, there is no need to observe his fruit of the Tao. Just by having some understanding of his realm, you will know that this is an enlightened being.

Therefore, Sun Wukong was able to confirm the identity of the enlightened one with just one glance.

"You used the Dao fruit of the Six-eared Macaque to shape this body, which perfectly matches my will, and you also used your means to arrange it so that I can be revived," Sun Wukong looked at the enlightened one and said straight to the point, "You took so much pains, what do you want?"

"No reason, just to find the next leader."

The enlightened one said calmly, "Originally, I had my eyes on Jiang Tanyue, because with his talent, he should be able to fully digest the fruit of the Great Sage. Unfortunately, Jiang Tanyue was unwilling, so I had to make another attempt. This was originally just an experiment, but now it seems that the result is quite good. After I was promoted, the position of the first seat of the Buddha Kingdom was taken by the Great Sage."

First seat?

he?
When Sun Wukong heard this, he really felt a strange sense of ridiculousness. It was really a pity that the other party would let a monkey like him become the leader of the monks.

He wanted to laugh, but he couldn't.

Because there is another bombshell news hidden in the words of the enlightened one.

Although he had not obtained Wuzhiqi's memory, Sun Wukong felt quite familiar with some common sense, and used his own wisdom to figure out the connections and had a basic understanding.

He narrowed his eyes and said, "You are an enlightened being. If you want to be promoted, the most suitable one should be Tathagata's Dao Fruit, right? Do you know what the consequences will be if you do this?"

"I had some guesses before, but I wasn't sure. After meeting the Great Sage, I can be sure."

The awakened one's voice was calm, without any ripples. "The ultimate goal of Buddhism is Nirvana. Even if you have experienced the Dharma Ending Age, it may not be possible to erase the Tathagata's intention. The worst result is to be like the Great Sage..."

"Let Tathagata awaken in the body of the lost."

"If a confused person wants to be promoted, he must not only be the enemy of Daojun, but also the enemy of Tathagata."
