In the second year of Hu Hai, the August wind blew across every inch of Ailao Kingdom, and the air was filled with a mysterious and ancient atmosphere.

The Ailao Mountains lie like a giant dragon in central Yunnan, running from north to south and stretching for about 500 kilometers. Its main peak rises into the clouds, with an altitude of 3166 meters.

This mountain range is like a masterpiece painted by the God of Earth himself. It stands majestically between rivers and lakes, contrasting with the rushing rivers and tranquil lakes.

Surrounded by endless dense forests, the trees are tall and luxuriant, with branches and leaves intertwined, like a natural green barrier. This forest is a paradise for birds and beasts, with agile cheetahs running through the woods, colorful birds jumping on the branches, and honest wild boars rolling in the mud. They thrive here, and for the Ailao people, this is their hunting ground for generations, and the source of survival and hope.

At the edge of the forest, hundreds of Ailao men gathered together. They were short but tough, bareheaded and barefoot, showing their primitive simplicity and wildness. Some carried bows and arrows, which were carefully made of tough wood and the bowstrings were made from the tendons of strong animals. The bows and arrows flashed sharply in the sun; some held bamboo spears, with straight and smooth spear shafts and sharp spear tips that seemed to be able to easily pierce the fur of prey; others led local dogs, which were small in size but had sharp eyes and could keenly smell the traces of prey after training.

In the center of the crowd, there was a hunter with a topknot and tattoos on his face, and his upper body was bare. His muscles were clearly defined, and that was a physique that had been trained through long-term hunting. At this moment, he was concentrating on slaughtering a piglet. This was not an ordinary act, as the piglet was a sacrifice to the ancestors. His movements were skillful and solemn. Although the stone knife in his hand was simple, it accurately cut the flesh of the piglet under his control. Every movement was full of awe for the ancestors. He firmly believed that only by offering this sacrifice would the ancestors bless them with a good harvest and save the tribe from hunger.

Arasso stood in the crowd. He had short hair and was short, but his bright eyes sparkled with a unique light. He held the bow tightly, and his eyes never left his father, Rixian.

Rixian was the leader of the Tutu tribe and enjoyed extremely high prestige in the tribe.

The look in Arathor's eyes when he looked at his father was full of admiration. It was the son's respect for his heroic father. In his heart, his father was an omnipotent being and the pillar of the entire tribe.

The Ailao tribe has a unique way of management. When not fighting with outsiders, the daily affairs of the village and the tribe are managed by the elderly "elders". These "elders" are experienced and familiar with the history, traditions and various rules of the tribe. Under their management, the life of the tribe is well organized.

As the chief of the tribe, Rixian's main responsibility is to lead the men in the tribe to hunt for food and protect the safety of the village. He is like the guardian of the tribe, always ready to deal with external threats, whether it is ferocious beasts or possible enemies.

As the whistling sound gradually died down, the birds were startled and fell back into the forest. The hunt ended successfully. The hunters returned home happily with a full harvest. Several big wild boars were pierced through thick bamboo poles and carried on the shoulders of the hunters. The fat wild boars almost bent the bamboo poles. The hunters' faces were filled with satisfied smiles, which showed the joy of the harvest and gratitude for the blessing of the ancestors.

Although Arasso was young, he performed well. He had extraordinary strength. During this hunt, he successfully shot and killed two civet cats. Although his posture of drawing the bow and shooting arrows was still a little immature, his seriousness and concentration made people feel awe. What was even more amazing was that Arasso was also very good at blowing arrows. The blow arrows in his hand were carefully made by himself. The arrow body was cut from the toughest bamboo, and the arrowhead was polished to a very sharp point. He quietly lurked in the grass, like a cunning little fox, waiting for the prey to approach. When the prey entered his attack range, he puffed up his cheeks and blew hard, and the blow arrow flew out like an arrow from a string. With this skill, he successfully killed several birds and three rabbits.

But he knew that his blowgun darts would be useless against real enemies. In his memory, the Qin people's strange armor left a deep impression on him.

The Ailao people did not wear armor, and even in battle, they were used to being shirtless, showing primitive bravery and fearlessness. This was not because they did not want armor, but because although the Ailao people were rich in mineral resources, their smelting technology was very backward.

In the tribe, copperware is very precious. It is either used to cast bronze drums that symbolize the tribe's beliefs and heritage, and played during ancestor worship ceremonies. The powerful sound seems to communicate with the ancestors, or it can only be distributed to the best warriors in the tribe. Children like Arasso are not qualified to own copper weapons or armor. They can only cut bamboo arrows by themselves and contribute their strength to the tribe in the most primitive way.

On the way back, Arasso followed the team silently. He looked at the backs of his father and other hunters and vowed to himself that he must become a good hunter like his father and one day make the tribe strong enough to compete with the Qin people. He quickened his pace and caught up with the team. His small figure looked more determined in the afterglow of the setting sun.

After returning to the village, the whole tribe was in an uproar. Women and children gathered around, cheering and welcoming the hunters' return. The elders stood by with smiles, their eyes full of satisfaction.

After putting down the prey, Arasso came to the bamboo forest behind the village alone. This is where he often practiced blowing arrows. He found an open space and started a new round of practice.

“Boom~Boom~Boom~!”

Arasso, who was practicing blowing arrows, was suddenly interrupted by the deep sound of bronze drums. The sound of the bronze drums was dull and powerful, and each beat seemed to hit people's hearts heavily, echoing over the entire tribe.

After hearing the sound of the bronze drum, everyone in the tribe stopped what they were doing. Whether it was the women weaving bamboo baskets, the old men polishing stone tools, or the children playing, they all turned their eyes towards the wooden village.

In the hearts of the Ailao people, the bronze drum is an extremely sacred artifact that carries the tribe's beliefs and heritage. Whenever the bronze drum is struck, there are only two major situations: either a solemn sacrificial ceremony is held to pray for the blessings of the ancestors; or the respected elders in the tribe are going to hold an emergency meeting to discuss important matters concerning the survival of the tribe.

Arasso's heart suddenly tightened. He didn't have time to think about it, and ran barefoot towards the direction of the settlement. His feet quickly alternated on the rice field path, leaving a string of mud spots, and his figure was like a smart deer.

When he approached the gate of the settlement, the scene before him made him gasp.

At the gate of the village, more than twenty tribal warriors fell to the ground and groaned in pain.

Huya, who was in charge of guarding the village gate, had already set out with hundreds of tribal warriors in a serious manner. Holding wooden spears and bows and arrows, they lined up neatly in front of the village gate, with the spears and arrows flashing coldly in the sun, all aimed at the group of uninvited guests.

This group of uninvited guests were none other than Yi Xiaochuan and his group.

Xiang Yu, who was standing at the front, frowned slightly, tightly gripped the spear in his hand, and stared at the tribal warriors in front of him with eyes as fast as lightning. He did not show any fear, but instead showed an excitement that was eager to try.

Liu Bang stood behind Xiang Yu, seemingly relaxed and casual, but his slightly trembling fingers revealed his inner nervousness. His eyes quickly scanned between the tribal warriors and the surrounding environment, his brain working rapidly, thinking about countermeasures.

Yi Xiaochuan stood in the middle of the team, his eyes calm and composed, observing everything around him, including the weapons, positions and expressions of the tribal warriors. He knew that at this critical moment, he had to stay calm in order to find a solution to the problem. Xiaoyue stood behind Yi Xiaochuan, with a hint of tension in her eyes. She held the corner of Yi Xiaochuan's clothes tightly with both hands, and her fingers turned slightly white due to the force. She stared at the situation ahead, always ready to deal with possible dangers.

Xiang Bo stood at the end of the team, looking a little nervous, with uneasiness in his eyes, and he looked at Yi Xiaochuan from time to time.

Xiang Yu looked at the tribal warriors who were ready for battle, and a feeling of pride surged in his heart. He took a step forward, raised the spear in his hand slightly, and shouted to the tribal warriors in a deep and loud voice:
"We have no ill intentions, we are just passing through here! I have shown mercy, please don't force me to kill!"

Huya looked at the tall and mighty man in front of him and couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive. But as a guard of the tribe, he had a duty and couldn't let his guard down easily. He responded loudly: "Who are you? Why did you break into our tribe?"

Seeing this, Liu Bang took a step forward, a smile on his face, trying to ease the tense atmosphere, and said: "We are travelers from afar, displaced by war. We heard that Ailao is a peaceful place, so we came here to seek refuge. We have no ill intentions, and hope you can let us stay here temporarily."

Yi Xiaochuan also spoke up: "We brought some items with us, maybe we can exchange some food and shelter with you."

As he spoke, he took out some exquisite pottery fragments and colorful cloth from his backpack. These items sparkled with strange brilliance in the sun, causing a commotion among the tribal warriors.

Alasuo watched all this quietly, his eyes full of curiosity. He had never seen these strangers before, and their clothes, language and behavior were completely different from those of the Ailao people. He looked at the strange objects in Yi Xiaochuan's hands, and a desire to explore surged in his heart.

"what happened?"

A majestic voice was heard, and the tribal warriors dispersed like a tide, and Rixian walked out slowly.

After listening to Huya's account of what had just happened, Rixian frowned and looked at the items in the hands of these strangers, feeling a little hesitant. He knew that the elders were holding a meeting, and if he made a decision without authorization, it might cause trouble. But these strangers did not seem hostile, and the items in their hands were indeed very attractive. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Wait here, I will go and inform the elders."

After saying this, he left some warriors to continue guarding the village while he turned and walked into the wooden village.

Xiang Yu and the others heaved a sigh of relief when they heard Rixian's words, but they still did not dare to let down their guard and kept an eye on the movements of the surrounding tribal warriors.

While waiting, Yi Xiaochuan began to show some simple tricks to the surrounding tribal warriors. He took out a flint and rubbed it gently, and sparks were produced, which surprised the tribal warriors. They had always used the primitive method of drilling wood to make fire and had never seen such a magical thing.

Yi Xiaochuan took out another rope and demonstrated a simple knotting method, which can make the rope more secure and convenient for carrying items. The tribal warriors gathered around, their eyes full of curiosity, and the tense atmosphere gradually eased.

After a while, Rixian came back. He walked in front of the crowd and said, "The elders agree that you can live in the tribe temporarily, but you must abide by our rules and not cause trouble at will."

Everyone was delighted.

Xiang Yu nodded slightly and said, "Thank you, we will definitely abide by the rules."

In this way, Yi Xiaochuan and his party temporarily settled down in the Tutu tribe. They were arranged in a corner of the settlement's wooden village, where there were several empty wooden houses. Although the environment was simple, it was a rare place for them to live.

In the following days, Yi Xiaochuan and his group gradually began to adapt to tribal life.

Yi Xiaochuan used his knowledge to establish a good relationship with the people in the tribe. He taught the women to weave bamboo baskets in a simpler way, taught the children to recognize some simple words and numbers, and helped the craftsmen in the tribe to improve the making methods of some tools. He also went to the fields himself and showed the Tutu people a new farming method. He taught them how to reasonably arrange the spacing of rice fields, how to better irrigate, and how to choose better seeds. He also introduced some simple farm tools, such as improved hoes and plows, which, although simple to make, can greatly improve the efficiency of farming.

Under Yi Xiaochuan's guidance, the Tutu tribe began to try new farming methods. At first, they were a little skeptical about these new methods, but as time went on, they found that the crops in the rice fields grew stronger than before, and the yields increased significantly. This made the tribe full of gratitude to Yi Xiaochuan, and they began to learn and apply the knowledge brought by Yi Xiaochuan more actively.

In addition to agriculture, Yi Xiaochuan also improved handicrafts and studied how to improve the quality of pottery, wood and bamboo products. He introduced some new production techniques to the craftsmen, such as how to control the temperature and fire when firing pottery, how to make the surface of wood smoother, and how to make bamboo products with more complex weaving methods. With his help, the quality of the products made by the craftsmen has been greatly improved. These exquisite handicrafts not only meet the needs of the tribe, but can also be used as trade items for exchange with surrounding tribes.

Xiaoyue and Xiang Bo were not idle either. Xiaoyue continued to work with the women in the tribe, teaching them how to weave cloth with finer threads and how to make more complex patterns. She also designed some new clothing styles, which not only retained the traditional characteristics of Ailao, but also incorporated some new elements, and were loved by the people in the tribe.

Xiang Bo was responsible for logistics support. He helped people in the tribe build houses, store food and manage supplies to ensure that life in the tribe could function normally.

As time went by, the Tutu tribe underwent significant changes with the help of Yi Xiaochuan and his team. The increase in agricultural output solved the food problem, the development of handicrafts increased trade income, the enhancement of the army's combat effectiveness ensured national security, and the management of the tribe became more orderly. These changes made Rixian trust and value Yi Xiaochuan and his team more.

At the same time, their names also reached the ears of Ailao King Jingao.
