Chapter 222 Trip to Shaolin

Chapter 222 Trip to Shaolin
After leaving Jiangnan, Murong Fu and his party went straight to Henan.

At present, Henan is still under the rule of the Jin people, but due to the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty, the two major cities in the Central Plains, Luoyang and Bianliang, were looted by the Jin people one after another, especially Bianliang.

The amount of gold and silver taken away is immeasurable.

What is even more sad and deplorable is that after the destruction of Tokyo, the Jin people abducted as many as ten thousand people from the royal family, craftsmen, and skilled men and women.

This number does not include the Han women who were used as gold by the two Huiqin clans.

In the past, Wanyan Zonghan led the Jin soldiers to attack Bianjing City, forcing the Song Dynasty to withdraw after negotiating peace. The Jin people demanded 5 million taels of gold and 50 million taels of silver coins, and ceded the three towns of Zhongshan, Hejian and Taiyuan.

However, the treasury of the Song Dynasty had long been emptied by the foolish emperor and corrupt officials. After discussion, the two bad emperors Hui and Qin decided to use women to trade gold to compensate the Jin Kingdom.

According to the records of the "Kaifeng Mansion", all kinds of women have clearly stated prices, which are exactly the same as those listed by the Jin people. A total of 11635 women were used to repay debts, 607700 gold ingots were repaid, and 2583100 silver ingots were repaid.

These women went north to the Jin Kingdom seven times, but half of them died on the way. Most of the poor women who arrived in the Northeast Jin Kingdom alive were tortured and died within a few years.

With the situation at this point, how could the Northern Song Dynasty survive?
However, the Huiqin Second Sect lost power and humiliated the country, but it still failed to satisfy the appetite of the Jin people.

Only one year after the turning point, the Jin people went south again. This time the city of Tokyo was destroyed. The Jin people not only kidnapped the two Huiqin sects, but also the three thousand concubines in the harem fell into the hands of the Jin people.

Among them was Empress Dowager Wei, the mother of Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty. She was originally Jieyu of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty.

It was only because the Jin people asked Huizong's son to go to the Jin Dynasty as a hostage, and Kang Wang Zhao Gou volunteered to go, that Huizong named Wei Wanrong "the virtuous concubine of Longde Palace".

During the Jingkang Incident, she was kidnapped to the Kingdom of Jin along with the second emperor, and worked as a coolie in the laundry with her daughter-in-law Xing Bingyi, Huizong Empress Zheng and other harem concubines.

After the city of Tokyo was destroyed, the Jin people established Zhang Bangchang as the pseudo-emperor. Afterwards, they experienced successive wars, and the prosperity of the past was long gone.

Within a few days, Murong Fu and his party arrived in Henan. Along the way, they saw hungry people everywhere and the land was desolate. Compared to Shandong, they were even more unwilling to make concessions.

Seeing this situation, Bao BuTong couldn't help but sigh: "Master, I didn't expect that the hinterland of the Central Plains would be so desolate!"

After hearing what Bao BuTong said, the three Deng Baichuan brothers all nodded, their eyes full of surprise.

It should be noted that as early as the Northern Song Dynasty, wherever you looked in Henan, there were thousands of acres of fertile farmland. But now, everywhere you look, everything is desolate, which is really surprising.

"Master, this place is not far from Shaolin. Could it be that those great monks don't care about it?"

A'Zhu on the side couldn't help but wonder when he saw the desolation everywhere.

"Shaolin?"

When Murong Fu heard this, he couldn't help but shake his head slightly with a smile on his face.

If we say that Abbot Xuanci in the Age of Tianlong was concerned about the people of the Central Plains, he was taken advantage of and deceived into killing good people by mistake.

Then the monks of the Shaolin Temple in later generations can be said to have developed the Buddhist practice of entering the world to save all sentient beings in the peaceful and prosperous times, and in the troubled times to close the mountains and close the temples to just save themselves to the extreme.

For example, you can see their wonderful operations in the late Northern Song Dynasty, the late Southern Song Dynasty, and even the late Ming Dynasty.

Even during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the Shaolin Temple actually had a deep relationship with the Aixinjueluo family. For example, Kangxi's biological father Shunzhi seemed to have died of illness, but in fact he became a monk in the Shaolin Temple.

In order to protect the Supreme Emperor, Abbot Huicong, who was the abbot of Shaolin Temple at the time, even sent the Eighteen Arhats of Shaolin to guard him secretly.

Seeing Murong Fu shaking his head slightly, as if he had a lot of prejudice against Shaolin Temple, A'Zhu knew it was interesting and did not mention it. Wang Yuyan at the side suddenly said: "Cousin, is the Nine Yang Magic Skill really so exquisite?"

Wang Yuyan had a photographic memory, and she was intrigued by everyone's attitude towards the Nine Yin Sutra, so she secretly studied it along the way.

But in her opinion, although there are many subtleties in the martial arts in the second volume of the "Nine Yin Manual", they are quite different from the "Little Wuxiang Kung" passed down to her by her grandmother.

Only the chapter "Easing the Muscles and Forging the Bones" was a master of Taoist martial arts, and she also benefited a lot.

"Cousin, could it be that you just saw the martial arts in the second volume of the 'Nine Yin Manual' and thought that the 'Nine Yang Manual' was just mediocre?"

Murong Fu seemed to understand Wang Yuyan's thoughts and smiled slightly.

At the same time, he glanced at everyone and said immediately: "The essence of the internal energy of the 'Nine Yin Manual' is all in the first volume. Compared with the first volume, this second volume cannot show its subtlety."

The power of the Jiuyin Manual lies in the word "Bo". This scripture can be said to be all-encompassing. It includes not only internal skills and mental skills, but also light skills, body skills, footwork and martial arts moves such as swordsmanship and palm skills. Claw technique, boxing technique, whip technique... In addition, there are breath-holding secrets, soul-moving technique, acupuncture points, acupoint relief, bone shrinkage and many other highly practical auxiliary exercises.

The Nine Yang Manual is exactly the opposite. Its martial arts lies in the word "jing". The essence of the entire text is only internal skills and mental methods. However, once the magical skills are completed, it surpasses more than 99% of the martial arts in the world.

If nine yin and nine yang coincide, it just confirms the four words "broad and profound".

"When it comes to internal strength, looking at the world, there is no martial arts that can surpass the Nine Yang Manual. Apart from the Beiming Divine Kung Fu of the Xiaoyao Sect and the Yi Jin Jing of the Shaolin Temple, the only one I have learned is the one written by Huang Shang." The Nine Yin Manual's Volume 1 Internal Skills and Mental Techniques..."

Knowing that everyone was not clear about the subtleties of the Nine Yang Manual, Murong Fu could hardly explain it patiently.

"So powerful?"

When the two daughters A'Zhu and A Bi heard this, they couldn't help but click their tongues.

The two girls have naturally seen how powerful their master Beiming's magical skills are, and it is incredible that they can use all the internal skills in the world for their own use!

"Of course, the 'Little Formless Magic Skill' you learned, cousin, is also included in this list."

After saying this, Murong Fu's eyes fell on Wang Yuyan.

"No matter how famous other kung fu are, most of them are far inferior to the ones listed above!"

After hearing Murong Fu's explanation, everyone put aside their contempt for the Nine Yang Scripture.

Of course, Murong Fu also had unfinished words in this.

The Nine-Yang Divine Skill is truly wonderful. After you master the Divine Skill, your internal energy will be generated very quickly and inexhaustibly. Ordinary fists and feet can also use extremely powerful attacks. The defensive power is super strong, and the automatic body protection function can rebound external attacks. It is almost comparable to the cultivation level of the sweeping monk hiding in the Sutra Pavilion of Shaolin Temple. The practitioners' Qing Gong body skills will also be greatly improved, surpassing more than 90% of the world's Qing Gong masters. It is also a holy book of healing, invulnerable to all poisons, and specially designed to break all cold and negative internal forces.

In addition, Jiuyang Shengong integrates the principles of martial arts, and after it is practiced, it can be used as accessories for all martial arts in the world!
But there is a premise for all of this, which is to practice the Four Volumes of Jiuyang Divine Art to great perfection. Even if it is not a great achievement, it must at least reach the state of Zhang Wuji in the nameless valley in the original work.

But Zhang Wuji was able to practice this "Nine Yang Divine Art" to the third volume in just a few years in the valley. In addition to the fact that he was the destiny of the protagonist, there was also the fact that in the early years, Master Sanfeng did not hesitate to spend his true energy to practice the martial arts he had practiced as Nine Yang Gong's true energy is infused into its body.

Sanfeng Zhenren's cultivation can be compared with Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. How can such a person who has practiced cultivation for hundreds of years be underestimated?

In the world of Yitian, the warriors in the world only knew that Zhang Wuji had deep inner strength and was the best in the world, but they did not know the hardships in his practice of Nine Yang Magic. For example, Master Jue Yuan appeared at the end of the volume of The Legend of the Condor Heroes.

However, Master Jueyuan's state of mind was transcendental, and he was consciously or unconsciously in line with the state of mind of Jiuyang Divine Art. However, he still practiced hard for more than thirty years and only achieved three volumes. This shows how difficult his practice was.

Zhang Wuji's ability to practice the Nine Yang Divine Art to great perfection is not only related to the monk's Qiankun Qi Bag, but also related to the internal strength competition between the Mingjiao masters in the forbidden area and Cheng Kun across the air.

If the two parties hadn't competed with him, who was hiding in the Qiankun Qi bag, and instead helped him break through the major acupuncture points around his body, I'm afraid no one would have been able to practice this skill to a great extent since the fight with the Drunken Monk.

Of course, in fact, among these, there are also the "Shen Zhao Jing" that can bring people back to life, and the "Innate Skill" of Chongyang Master who won the first place in the world in swordsmanship in the past.

However, the "innate skills" are too overbearing. The old illness of Master Chongyang may be related to this. Otherwise, given his cultivation level, he may not be able to live to be a hundred years old.

It's a pity that he and Lin Chaoying were enemies. If either of them had been willing to bow their heads back then, perhaps with Lin Chaoying meditating hard on the "Jade Girl's Heart Sutra" double cultivation to make up for the lack of "innate skills", the two of them might not be able to improve their cultivation!
However, in the end it is still sad and deplorable!
Lin Chaoying died in depression in an ancient tomb because of her unrecognized friendship. And after Wang Chongyang conquered the world with his skills, he could not escape the outbreak of his old disease!
Thinking of all these, Murong Fu couldn't help but sigh.

……

A few days later, outside the gate of Shaolin Temple in Songshan Mountain.

The Zhike monk of Shaolin Temple saw a group of people arriving outside the mountain gate from a distance. There were men and women in the group, but everyone's clothes were made of fine silk and satin, and some were even embellished with jewelry, but they did not look luxurious. , on the contrary, it gives people a very grand feeling, and one can tell at a glance that he is a big shot from a wealthy family and an official family.

Especially the leader, who was dressed in fluttering white clothes, luxuriously dressed, handsome in appearance, and majestic in appearance.

The women on the left and right beside him are also of beautiful beauty, and they can be called fairy figures who have emerged from the scrolls of calligraphy and painting.

Poor Zhike monk, who has been staying in the temple all year round, how could he see such a beautiful woman? He was dumbfounded.

"Ahem, little master!"

Seeing Zhike Monk, he seemed to be stunned. On the side, a man with a tall figure, big ears, and a thick gray beard under his chin, dressed like a rich businessman, gentry butler, hurriedly stepped forward and offered his hands.

"Young monk is rude!"

Hearing someone coughing, the Zhike monk hurriedly lowered his head and clasped his hands together.

"My young master is like this. My son has been sincere in worshiping Buddha since he was a child. His greatest wish in life is to read the secret teachings of your Buddhist scriptures in your temple, chant sutras and pray to Buddha every day, and take refuge devoutly..."

The monk who knew the guest put his hands together and bowed, saying, "That's good, that's good. This is a good result."

He had just seen the appearance of the person who came here, and it was true that he came from a family of poets and writers, and was full of knowledge. At first glance, it was obvious that such a person was devoted to Buddha, so he naturally had no doubts.

The visitor continued: "My young master heard about the name of Baosha and learned that there are thousands of Buddhist scriptures in Baosha. He wanted to go to Baosha and excerpt a few volumes of Buddhist scriptures in person, so that he could take them home in the future and worship them on the Buddhist altar. He would burn incense every day and pay tribute to them. A Buddha’s heart!”

"Amitabha, your sincerity towards the Buddha is commendable and valuable!" The monk Zhike sighed, "However, the young monk cannot make the decision on this matter. I need to report it to the elders of the Sutra Pavilion. I hope you won't be surprised."

"Sorry to bother you." The butler hurriedly bowed his hands, bowed deeply, and waved to the side. Immediately, he saw several people personally presenting plates covered with red cloth.

The butler smiled and uncovered the red cloth on one of the plates, revealing pieces of gold in an instant. It turned out that the plate was filled with gold ingots.

The number of gold ingots in these three plates exceeds at least one thousand taels, and they are all the most precious gold.

The steward offered it to the monk who knew the guest, cupped his hands and said: "This is the incense money. I would like to cast a gold body on the Buddha statue in your temple so that the believers can sincerely worship and pay respect to the Buddha. Please accept it, little master."

The monk who knew the guest wanted to shirk it for the time being, but seeing the bright incense money, he was stunned for a moment. He immediately ignored the humility and hurriedly returned the courtesy: "Please also invite the donors to come to the temple to serve tea!"

It is true that the Shaolin Temple family has great achievements, but it consumes a lot of money on weekdays. In previous years in the Northern Song Dynasty, the emperor of the Song Dynasty paid homage to Buddha, and the life of the Shaolin Temple was naturally not bad.

But with the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty and the hinterland of the Central Plains falling under the rule of the Jin people, life for the monks in Shaolin Temple was naturally not easy.

Due to the chaos of the current situation, the number of pilgrims who visit the temple to worship Buddha on weekdays is naturally much less than in previous years. Now it is rare that a generous nobleman comes, so he naturally does not want to neglect and hurriedly orders the monks to come out to greet him.

And he personally went to report to the masters and uncles in the temple...

……

This group of people is naturally Murong Fu and others, and the butler is Deng Baichuan. They came to Shaolin to excerpt scriptures, so they are naturally performing in their true colors.

However, before visiting the Shaolin Temple, Brother Bao and Brother Feng worked hard and borrowed some gold and silver from many so-called big names in Henan. Otherwise, they would not be able to knock on the door of the Shaolin Temple with just white teeth. .

Of course, Murong Fu also had other ways to enter the Sutra Pavilion of Shaolin Temple, but the scene might be a bit ugly. Thinking of the three cousins beside him, Murong Fu chose a more relaxed method.

A few days later, Murong Fu and his entourage stayed in the side room of the Shaolin Temple that was responsible for taking care of distinguished guests. In front of him were many scriptures excerpted by the eminent monks of the Shaolin Temple in their own handwriting.

Among them are the Mahaparinirvana Sutra, the Great Firm Brahman Sutra, the Nikudha Brahma Sutra, as well as the Diamond Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, which are used as a pretext.

Of course, the "Lengha Sutra" is naturally indispensable among them, and the "Nine Yang Sutra" written by Doujiu Monk is hidden in the interlayer of the "Lengha Sutra".

Fortunately, the Shaolin Temple acted prudently and only took out the manuscripts of eminent monks of the past dynasties in the temple, but did not take out the original copy of the "Lengjia Sutra". Otherwise, Murong Fu would have found another way.

Although Murong Fu and his entourage were regarded as distinguished guests by the monks of Shaolin Temple, they were all outsiders after all, and it was naturally impossible to welcome them into the important place of the Sutra Pavilion. Therefore, these monks who knew the guests brought copies here every day for him to borrow excerpts.

However, this saves Murong Fu other efforts. After all, their group's skills are so profound that these Zhike monks cannot see it, but it is difficult to hide it from everyone.
