Chapter 22: The House of Traps

He always acts on his own, as if no one else exists, and for various reasons, people dare not or are unwilling to contact him casually.

German walked around the rooms on the second floor, not satisfied, so he went up to the third floor, dodged a sudden attack from a huge chain hammer, and finally found the largest room in the mansion.

"Let's rest here tonight."

"Click", the door was locked.

He threw his backpack on the couch and went to the bathroom to take a hot shower.

After a long time, he changed into light pajamas, dried his hair with a towel, and came out of the steamy bathroom.

At this moment, the door handle was twisted off with a "click", the door was pushed open roughly, and the door lock was naturally broken.

A sturdy man walked in with a chubby face and a carefree look.

He is also a candidate in this period - Tuomen, and is a veteran who has gone through several examinations.

Takumen was not surprised to see someone in the most luxurious room, as he had come in to grab the room, but when he saw it was Germain, he couldn't help but frown.

German didn't stop wiping his hair with the towel. He just stared at Takumen with his dark eyes, as if asking what you are doing here.

"What are you doing here?" he actually asked.

"I..." Takumen wanted to back out, but for some reason his blood surged and he got the courage to say, "I don't want to share a room with other people. This room belongs to me, you, get out."

Takumen pointed his thumb at the corridor behind him, with the corners of his mouth turned down, looking ferocious.

Germain tilted his head slightly, as if he didn't understand what Takumen said.

"Tsk." Takumen stretched his muscles, making crackling sounds. "Others are afraid of you and that pretty boy, but I am not. If you don't leave, then we will use the fairest way..."

"Oh!"

A black shadow flashed, and Takumen flew out of the room while the world was spinning.

There was a loud noise in the corridor outside the luxurious room. The candidates nearby couldn't help but look over and saw Takumen sitting in the corridor.

His back was pressed against the wall, which had cracks like spider webs. A broken brick fell and hit him on the head, but he didn't move at all.

Then they heard the door of the luxury room slammed shut, and heard what sounded like a seat being pushed against the door.

After a while of silence, they came closer.

"Hey, are you okay?" Someone squatted down, looked at Takumen with amusement, and reached out to help him up.

"Don't touch me!" Takumen called out softly, scaring the other party. Then he heard Takumen explain, "Don't touch me... It's broken."

Everyone's face changed. Takumen said this, probably a bone that supports the body's movement was broken.

And the one who broke his bones must have been German in the room.

They couldn't help but secretly feel lucky that they were not as ungrateful as Takumen, otherwise one of them would be thrown outside the corridor and might be paralyzed for the rest of his life.

Afterwards, no matter how other candidates asked about the details of what had just happened, Takumen remained silent due to his complicated mood and was unwilling to answer.

Seeing that there was no more excitement to watch, the crowd did not want to help Takumen, who was nominally a "competitor", nor did they want to stay outside of Germain's room for too long, so they all dispersed. Soon, the only person left in the red-carpeted corridor was Takumen, who was slumped against the wall.

If nothing unexpected happens, he will spend a difficult night here in pain, cold and frustration.

However, an accident happened.

The man who had been lurking nearby for a long time quietly appeared and stood in front of Takumon who was unable to move.

"You... who are you?" Takumen finally noticed the person coming. His fat face was pale and bloodless, which was caused by pain and fear.

"I'm the examiner of the second exam, Ian." The man was wearing a black butler uniform, with sparse gray hair and a serious face. "This 'Mansion of Traps' is my masterpiece."

Takumen stammered with trembling lips, and raised his finger slightly, pointing at the door that kept all outsiders out.

"He didn't break any exam rules." Ian shattered Takumen's delusion with just one sentence. "At the same time, you need to receive urgent medical treatment, so you have to withdraw from the exam."

"I……"

"Takumen, I think I've made myself clear enough, right?" Ian's tone became firm.

Takumen's fat and strong body softened like a deflated ball, and he nodded, "I understand."

Ian glanced deeply at the door, then slowly squatted down. His arms, which looked skinny and covered with age spots, swelled up and he easily picked up Takumen, who looked quite heavy.

In the eyes of Takumen's surprise, Ian held him in his arms and jumped out of the open window at great speed. He landed steadily amid Takumen's screams, and then the two of them quickly disappeared into the night.

Hisoka looked at this scene from the balcony of his room on the second floor, then looked upstairs and narrowed his eyes.

"What should I do? I feel like I can't hold it any longer... or should I wait until tomorrow?"

German didn't care about what was happening outside that had nothing to do with him. He wrapped himself in a soft quilt and had a good sleep.

He didn't even have any disturbing dreams during that time until the noisy noise woke him up.

He opened his sleepy eyes and heard the "clang clang clang" sound of iron striking coming from afar. He sat up puzzled and rubbed his handsome face with his hands.

After regaining consciousness, he reached out for the alarm clock on the bedside table, looked at the position of the pointer on the alarm clock, confirmed that it was four o'clock in the morning, and couldn't help but frowned slightly.

The "clang clang clang" sound of metal knocking outside still continued, as if the purpose was to wake up all the sleeping people in the mansion. The purpose was very clear.

The third exam is actually held at this time when the sun has not yet risen?
German had no choice but to get up and walked to the balcony yawning. He saw a figure standing in the open space in front of the mansion, and people in the mansion gathered in front of him one after another.

The man was shouting something, but German didn't listen carefully. Instead, he went straight to the bathroom, brushed his teeth and washed his face, changed into his usual hunter suit, and left the room.

It was still pitch black outside the mansion, with only the grayish moonlight pouring like seasoning over the mountains and fields.

When he came to the open space and stood at the end of the crowd, he obviously noticed that the number of candidates had dropped sharply again.

But it was much quieter, which was exactly what Germain wanted.

Standing in front of the crowd was a muscular man with unkempt long blue hair. He was wearing animal skins and had his eyes closed. He was hitting a metal tripod with an iron rod.
