Hunter x Hunter: Tonight, Germain joins the hunt

Chapter 72: Abenganie doesn't want to get rid of Germain's thoughts

Chapter 72: Abenganie doesn't want to get rid of Germain's thoughts
April 3st morning.

German sat by the jade-like lake, bending over to gaze at his own face reflected in the rippling water, and shaved carefully with a razor.

Now that the training was over, it was time to say goodbye to my unkempt self. However, from an outsider's perspective, it looked like I had committed suicide by the lake.

The eye-catching beard was shaved cleanly by the blade, and the originally beautiful and youthful face looked like peeled cooked egg whites, smooth and delicate.

He put away the razor, stood up from the lake, and like a flag rising in the spring breeze, he walked into the wooden house slowly, packed his luggage calmly, and then walked out again.

In fact, there wasn’t much luggage to speak of. The backpack was shrunken, like dried oysters.

However, I did make a lot of friends.

The "cats" in the mountains seemed to have foreseen that German was about to leave and would most likely never come back, so they all came out from the bushes, behind the big trees, and around the corners of the trails.

They rubbed their heads gently against Germain's thighs, memorized Germain's scent, and left their own scent on Germain's body.

Germain squatted down and stroked their fur one by one.

"I'm leaving. Take care of yourselves." He said firmly.

German tightened the loosened straps of his backpack and left along the path amid the stares and snorts of the cats and kittens.

He came to the road outside, found the bus stop he came from, took a bus here, and went to the nearby town of Martin.

After breakfast, German received a text message on his phone.

"Mr. German, I'm already in Martin Town. Where are you? I'll come find you."

German reported the location, and soon the dark-skinned mind exorcist Abenganie appeared before him.

"Long time no see, Mr. Germain."

"haven't seen you for a long time."

Abenganie looked at German. It had been more than a month since they last met. He was still wearing the simple black hunter's robe, and his eyes were sharp. It seemed that he had not changed much.

But the hunter's intuition told him that German had changed, become more dangerous, the kind of danger that is hidden and unmanifest.

Only when truly threatened will the dagger pierce out from under the thin cloth, showing its unparalleled sharpness.

Abenganie felt both relieved and regretful.

He was thankful that he did not run away and thus avoided the worst outcome of falling out with German. He regretted that if he had not contacted German at the beginning, perhaps he would not have been so worried later.

"Let's find a suitable place." German still remembered Abenganie's needs. "You need to be surrounded by trees, with birds singing and flowers blooming, right?"

"Yes." Abenganie nodded a little uncomfortably. "May the forest spirits bless me and you."

"Then let's go to the grove over there."

German chose a place that looked quite secret and took Abenganie there first.

Abenganie prepared himself mentally before following behind and entering the grove.

They found a flat area with no one around but swaying shadows of trees.

It has to be said that Germain had a good vision, and Abenganie admitted that he found a good place that met his needs.

Abenganie began to arrange the exorcism ceremony and built a small bonfire. Puffs of green smoke rose slowly.

He took out the doll and looked at Germain: "I'm ready here, are you ready?"

"I'm available anytime." Germain moved a little closer.

So, Abenganie pulled himself together and began to chant, his eyes fixed on the billowing smoke from the campfire, and finally he saw a group of black shadows moving.

It's coming... one, two, three, four... five. Abenjaniel counted once, then counted again, somewhat incomprehensibly.

Why does four minus one equal five? It has only been a short time, and there are two more materialized mind beasts.

Abenganie found that his premonition was correct. As long as he continued to remove the thoughts from Germann, he would see more and more thought beasts in the campfire.

Damn it... They all exude an ominous aura, as if they will entangle him in the next moment.

Abenganie absolutely did not want to be entangled by such a beast; a period of coexistence like that would be a nightmare.

"Help me get rid of that one." Germann pointed at one of the "Scarlet Mind Beasts" based on his intuition, "We'll talk about the other one later."

Abenganie nodded with difficulty, as if accepting his fate: "Okay. My exorcism begins."

A moment later, the "Scarlet Mind Beast" that symbolized "fear of light" was destroyed. Abenganie hurriedly drove the other mind beasts back and then extinguished the campfire.

He was still in shock, but after he breathed a sigh of relief, he seemed to have a bad cold. The cold made him hug his body with his hands, looking very pitiful.

"Mr. Germain, my work is done."

Germann materialized the "Hunter Badge" and confirmed the significant effect: "Thank you. I have transferred the money to your account. I will contact you again in a month. Well, bye."

He was not familiar with Abenganie and had no intention of staying to chat. After nodding to Abenganie, he walked away, like a scumbag who would just pull up his pants and leave.

Abenganie was hesitant to speak, and in the end he could only watch German's back disappear from his sight.

It’s better to leave, it’s better to leave.

Although he did say before that it would take at least a month for German to recover from the evil thoughts, a month was actually quite a tight time.

He was forced to make this choice.

Abenganie needs to be fully prepared physically and mentally, one month is too tight.

He thought to himself that he would let Germann go this time, but next time he would argue with him and fight for his own rights.

German walked along the edge of the road while calling "Pervert".

He was actually interested in the content of the text message that Hisoka had sent before.

Soon after, the call was connected.

"Is that Germain?" Hisoka's signature sticky voice came, "It's really not easy to contact you."

"What did you mean by 'common interests'?" German asked tentatively.

"Our interests are aligned." Hisoka chuckled. "You are really bold. You actually want to take over and become the leader of the Phantom Troupe."

German didn't explain, and it was to his advantage not to explain.

"But I'm almost the same as you." Hisoka said with a smile, "I've been looking for an opportunity to fight Kuroro alone, but it's too difficult."

"For example, during this underground vault robbery, he was guarded by at least two people from beginning to end. After the activity ended, he completely disappeared."

"German, you see, I wanted to have a big fight with Kuroro, but I never had the chance to catch him. If you and I cooperated, the situation would be different."

Hisoka laid out his plan.

"I will say that I have successfully found you, convinced you to change your mind, and asked to meet with Kuroro. As long as Kuroro agrees, he will appear in front of us."

"But he will probably bring at least two members with him, right? If you help me lead them away, I can catch Kuroro."

"When the time comes, I will have fulfilled my wish, and you will have fulfilled your wish, which will be a wonderful thing for both of us."
