Chapter 4 Cleaning
Ferry wakes up.

It’s not that he didn’t get enough sleep, but the cold air around him made him sleep uncomfortably.

Ferry got up.

“Shouldn’t it be like this?”

The death energy that should have dissipated with the death of the Necromancer still lingered in the cave, making it cold and dilapidated. Even the few gold coins that Farui had piled in the corner of the cave began to become dim under the influence of this energy.

"That's not okay."

Fari stood up. Even a lazy young dragon like him couldn't sleep peacefully in such an environment. He prepared to deal with it.

After easily breaking up the skeletons that had come alive under the influence of the free death energy, Fary found the source of the undead energy - the corpse of the necromancer.

As we all know, when a necromancer is dead, he will not be able to continue to cast necromancy spells. There must be something else emitting necromancy energy.

Ferry's nose twitched twice.

“Never let your instincts control you at any time.”

This was the instruction from Farui's mother, and while the instruction was being given, Farui was pouncing on a pile of gold coins.

The smell of treasure was in the corpse's arms. Fari gently hooked his fingers, and a broken hilt fell out of the necromancer's arms.

After simply checking the necromancer's body using spells and physical methods and making sure there was no danger, Fary carefully turned the body over.

Under the cover of the necromancy energy, he smelled a hint of treasure.

It is impossible for someone who has the ability to kill a Death Knight not to know this. Unless he thinks he will not have enough trouble in the future, these relics will be completely destroyed.

Then, Fari was blown into the sky by the magic trap under the gold coin.

Fari muttered something under his breath and threw the hilt into the corner of the nest.

The Death Knight's relics contain some of his power in his "previous life". If left alone, the Death Knight will be reborn again in due time.

When Farri saw the hilt of the sword, his face fell.

Fary shuddered, and most of his sleepiness disappeared.

Only those knights who are extremely powerful and have deep resentment when they die can become death knights. Such death knights can easily set off a natural disaster of undead that can destroy the entire kingdom.

"What a troublesome thing."

At least now he would check it carefully.

Behind every Death Knight relic that has not been destroyed, there is a story, and these stories usually take the lives of many people involved.

It took Fary nearly five years to recover from that injury. Since then, Fary has learned to control the desire for wealth in his blood.

"How could such a weak necromancer have such a thing on him?"

"The danger warning did not respond, and the detection of the trap was fine. There was no smell of danger either."

"The hilt of the Death Knight."

An instinctive impulse came up, urging him to find the necromancer's treasure and take it for himself. But soon, Farrell controlled the impulse.

It’s not that Farui is afraid of the story behind the hilt. Nowadays, not many people dare to risk the wrath of the Dragon Council to become a dragon slayer.

The trouble for Ferry is that it's hard to turn this thing into shiny gold coins.

Only necromancers can use this thing, and there are not many necromancers in the whole continent now. Due to the continuous hunting of various human kingdoms, each of these necromancers is very good at hiding themselves. At least Farui doesn't know who to turn this hilt into cash. Since there is no way to turn it into shiny gold coins and gems, for Farui, this is just a thing that will only reduce his sleep quality.

"Isolate from evil."

This spell can temporarily prevent the undead energy on the hilt from leaking out, so that the hilt will not be able to affect Fari's sleep for the time being.

"That should be fine."

Looking at the skeletons and zombies around him that stood up because of the power of the hilt and fell down again, Farry nodded with satisfaction. Several light blue wizard hands appeared in the cave and threw the fallen bodies out of the cave.

In order to improve his sleep quality in the future, Fari plans to decorate his nest well.

But in the eyes of outsiders, it is a completely different picture.

"You saw a lot of dead bodies outside a cave?"

In the cemetery at the foot of the mountain, the village chief brought a woodcutter to the adventurer.

The adventurers' investigation in the cemetery has basically been completed. The tombs here have been dug up, the corpses have been taken away, and there are also some undead creatures that have lost their necromancy energy and fallen to the ground.

Apparently, a necromancer had visited here before.

The largest tomb in the center of the cemetery was also dug up by the necromancer, and inside it was the body of a mid-level paladin. Now it seems that the necromancer wants to do something with the body.

The necromancer was not strong, as could be seen from his undead servants in the cemetery, which were all zombies and skeletons.

This necromancer probably wanted to use the Paladin's corpse and some additional rituals to summon undead creatures of higher levels.

"That cave is probably where the necromancer is preparing to perform the ritual, and his ritual should be almost complete. I need a guide to take me there."

The adventurer picked up his equipment and looked at the woodcutter in front of him.

The woodcutter glanced at the village chief beside him. Obviously, he didn't want to lead the way.

"Just show the direction from a distance, and you can use the mill for two days for free next year."

The woodcutter thought about it in his mind and turned to look at the adventurer beside him.

"Just point out the cave from a distance?"

After seeing the adventurer nod, the woodcutter gritted his teeth.

"I did it."

The adventurer had no interest in the use of the mill, and he counted the supplies in his backpack.

"The holy water and holy oil should be enough for two battles. We also have some potions. It should be fine."

Judging from the fallen undead creatures, the level of the necromancer would not be high, probably only about level two or three. As long as the adventurers used the resources at their disposal properly, it would not be particularly difficult to get rid of him.

"I have to be frugal. The reward for this mission is not much, only ten gold coins. I'll see if I can exchange this shield when I get to Wind Whisper City..."

While the adventurer was calculating how to spend the reward for this mission, he followed the guide into the mountains outside the village.

“It looks a little more presentable now.”

In the cave, Fari clapped his paws. With the efforts of the wizard's hands, all traces left by the necromancer in the cave had been completely cleared.

The young dragon looked at the cave with satisfaction and prepared to take the next step to look for more treasures.
