Chapter 406 Submarine Model
Yangcheng Shipyard.

The South China Sea Fleet has just sent away Type 022 missile boats, Type 022A torpedo boats and Type 083 minesweepers.

Liu Tao also focused his attention on the development of submarines.

Of course, there is no way to build a complete submarine.

But making a submarine model is no problem.

He will stay at the Yangcheng Shipyard for a while and try to complete this work before the Spring Festival.

The steel chosen for the submarine hull has a yield strength of 590 MPa.

Liu Tao knew that this kind of steel was not enough. If he wanted the submarine to be able to operate deep enough underwater, then according to Liu Tao's estimation, the yield strength had to reach about 800 MPa.

However, Liu Tao did not have this kind of special steel.

First use the currently available special steel as the submarine hull, and then use your own gold finger to upgrade it.

At present, China is still quite lacking in special steels used in submarines.

Because submarines fight underwater, they have very high requirements for steel. They must be metal materials with high yield strength, good corrosion resistance and good ductility.

In terms of steel requirements, submarines have much higher requirements than surface ships.

One of the important reasons why China's nuclear submarines do not perform very well is that the material of the hull is not very good.

Originally, the Type 091 attack nuclear submarines and Type 092 strategic nuclear submarines were very noisy. When sailing at high speeds, the noise level far exceeded 100 decibels, reaching the range of 140 to 160 decibels. As soon as they left Qingdao, the US military in Guam could hear them, so they were also called "underwater tractors" by the US and Japanese intelligence agencies.

Later, the propellers of nuclear submarines and other parts were processed with high precision at the Panshan Machinery Factory using a five-axis machining center, which greatly reduced noise and brought a lot of improvements in this regard.

However, Liu Tao can help with processing, but not other things, such as nuclear reactors, which are much more backward than those of US and Soviet nuclear submarines. In terms of materials, due to material limitations, the diving depth of the two nuclear submarines is less than 300 meters.

The diving depth of US and Soviet nuclear submarines can reach 400 to 500 meters.

Even though the diving depth is only 100 to 200 meters different, the difference is huge.

The deeper the dive, the stealthier the submarine becomes, the harder it is to detect by sonar, the safer the submarine is, and the greater the threat it poses.

Liu Tao's positioning of conventional submarines is that they can dive to a depth of 300 to 400 meters and can perform a variety of tasks ranging from near-shore combat to long-distance patrols.

After some effort, Liu Tao finally made the first submarine model, which looked like the Type 035 submarine.

Liu Tao threw the submarine model into the sea and went out to sea on a boat. On the boat, Liu Tao controlled the submarine to dive.

Liu Tao looked at the status of the submarine model on the screen.

The development of submarines is much more difficult than that of surface ships because submarines are tested underwater and cannot be seen.

During the test, the submarine model may be broken down, caught in a fishing net, or lose signal, making it impossible to control.

So Liu Tao appeared cautious.

Once the submarine model is finished, it means you have to start over.

He spends almost all his time every day testing submarine models.

As the days passed, he optimized the submarine model again and again.

More than a month passed in the blink of an eye.

The Spring Festival is approaching.

Liu Tao carefully controlled the submarine model to surface.

Compared with before, this submarine model has undergone tremendous changes.

Putting his hand on the submarine model, Liu Tao looked at the virtual panel:

[Item: Conventional submarine model]

【Manufacturer: Liu Tao】

[Item Level: LV9 (1000000000/1000000000) (Upgradable)]

[Upgrade Points: 2800]

[Item status: intact, analyzable]

"System, upgrade!" Liu Tao muttered to himself.

[Please select the upgrade direction! ] Looking at the upgrade direction selection on the virtual panel, Liu Tao upgraded the AIP system this time.

The so-called AIP system is an 'air independent propulsion system'.

Conventional submarines use diesel engines when sailing on the surface and batteries underwater; however, the battery capacity is limited, and after a period of time, they must surface to the snorkel state and use the diesel engine to charge the battery.

In order to solve this part of the shortcomings, countries are exploring and working hard.

Liu Tao is naturally also working on this technology for this submarine.

This time, the upgrade he made was to upgrade the AIP system.

shuh~~
A faint light flickered.

Looking at the virtual panel again, the data has changed.

[Item: Conventional submarine model]

【Manufacturer: Liu Tao】

[Item Level: LV10 (0/10000000000) (Cannot be upgraded)]

[Upgrade Points: 2800]

[Item status: intact, analyzable]

Liu Tao pondered for a moment and realized that the submarine model was no longer sufficient to be upgraded in this way.

Afterwards, Liu Tao chose to upgrade using upgrade points, leaving only enough upgrade points for parsing.

Brush brush brush~~~
Tiny rays of light flickered.

Liu Tao chose the areas in which he wanted to upgrade one by one.

Then he silently said in his mind: "System, analysis!"

Suddenly, drawings appeared quickly on the virtual panel. These were design drawings.

Soon, tens of thousands of drawings were completed.

If real scientific research and development is to be carried out, hundreds or thousands of people will have to work continuously for ten or even twenty years, and the data generated in the whole process will require at least twenty or even thirty train cars to carry.

But Liu Tao doesn't need it, he just needs to do the final analysis.

The development of just one such submarine will save the country at least tens of billions or even hundreds of billions of scientific research funds.

Liu Tao controlled the submarine model and went to the Yangcheng Shipyard.

Even though it is just a model, the value in it is very high.

Therefore, the models used by Liu Tao are kept highly confidential. The models will eventually be transported to the collection hall of Panshan Group for collection, and no leaks are allowed.

When we arrived at the Yangcheng Shipyard, we operated the equipment and hoisted up the entire submarine model. Although it was just a model, it was very heavy, weighing nearly 70 or 80 tons.

Then Liu Tao arranged for people to transport the submarine model back to Panshan Group.

After that, Liu Tao went to Dalian Shipyard, stayed there for two days and then returned to Panshan Group.

At this time, the submarine model has been transported to Panshan Group and placed in the collection hall.

The collection hall mainly contains models of various weapons and ammunition developments, as well as the first weapons. Of course, not all of the first prototypes of every weapon, gun, or vehicle are included here, but they will be supplemented later.

In addition, there are some photos, including original photos of each factory, photos of reconstruction, and various group photos, recording the changes of Panshan Group.

Every milestone is recorded.

In addition, there are some videotapes that record the changes of the times and the battles of the front-line troops.

These are precious materials, and are left for future generations to understand the past.

The purpose of Liu Tao's return this time is to inspect the weapons, equipment, missiles and torpedoes that have been transported to the Panshan Group headquarters during this period.

Over a month, a lot of stuff has accumulated.

In addition to testing weapons and equipment, submarine design drawings are also printed.

Relevant size adjustments are being expanded accordingly.
