Chapter 11 Concentrate and clear thinking

Chapter 11 Concentrate and clear thinking (2)
B. Buy according to your needs

C. Buy books recommended by experts

D. Go to the bookstore first, and buy if you like it

5. Gold plummeted, what do you think?

A. I don't have gold in my hands, it doesn't matter

B. I have gold in my hand, I have to sell it quickly
C. Gold will also depreciate?I dare not make any investment

D. The price should be lower so that I can buy the bottom

After the statistics, people found that most of their options were "solve it online" or "ask others (authority)", rather than summing up experience in practice. For example, when some people's refrigerator breaks down, they don't look for the cause at the first time, to see if there is a problem with the circuit. They'll pick up the phone right away and let a professional figure it out. Some people also told me that when they encounter spiritual confusion, their first choice is to buy authoritative books in related fields, follow the instructions above, and apply mechanically instead of thinking about their own actual problems.

A student from Shanghai said: "I always look in the phone book unconsciously before making a call, and when I encounter a problem, the first thing I think of is Baidu. I don’t dare to think, if one day I can live without the help of others?”

This is a problem worthy of our concern: modern media is creating an increasingly large-scale "low IQ society". One of the most important characteristics of the "low IQ society" is that people are lazy to think, and hope that someone will tell them the answer after thinking directly, and they just need to do it.People become lazy and gullible. For them, thinking is a hard and troublesome thing, so they don't want to think, their brains continue to degenerate, they lose their ability to create and distinguish, and finally become difficult to stand on their own and self-control.

Some typical phenomena can prove that our point of view is correct:

1. From the perspective of education, the current middle school students are only equivalent to the learning intensity of primary school students in the past, college students are equivalent to middle school students, and graduate students are only equivalent to the past college students.

2. In the 20s, the best-selling books were books by Nietzsche, Goethe, and Sartre. People like to read books on philosophy and psychology; most of the best-selling books now are inspirational and effective with simple content. Tool books.

3. When people go to the supermarket, most of them develop the habit of looking at the "production date" and "shelf life".This is a behavior that is clearly dependent on the thinking of others. Most people will not verify whether the purchased product has deteriorated. As long as the above number tells him that the product is good, he feels that it must be safe.Their attention is completely at the mercy of some numbers.

4. In the face of the epidemic, most people show unreasonable pursuit. For example, when economists tell you that housing prices are going to rise and the stock market is booming, people will invariably invest their money in the housing market and the stock market. When another authority voiced the exact opposite, people hurriedly withdrew. If it was an ordinary person who made a similar suggestion, no one would pay attention to him, or even laugh at him for not understanding anything, and would not take his warning to heart.

People in low-IQ societies refuse to think, thinking that the words of "experts" and "authorities" are correct. They trust others far more than they trust themselves, and almost all their attention is hijacked by other people's "brains". They like to find an authoritative "brain" for themselves, and then listen to it to save their energy. Do things that don't matter at all.

More information is gathered together to form a multi-information environment in modern society, which gives people the illusion of a "hotbed".The process of people's "low IQ" is like boiling frogs in warm water, a process full of inertia.Only when there is a serious sense of crisis, people realize: "Oh, I am so bad, I really need to change!" But by this time, it is too late, because the habit of refusing to think has become a part of the brain. This instinct, without going through a difficult adjustment process, it is difficult to completely reverse the process of low IQ.

Self-hypnosis
In the attention course, we have adopted the method of self-hypnosis, so that the students can regain the calm state of the brain.Hypnosis is a form of treatment that relaxes the body while concentrating and resting the mind inside. All hypnosis includes two steps. The first step is to induce you to enter a state of trance relaxation, and the second step is to propose a "your subconscious will put It turns into fact" suggestion. In other words, let your subconscious mind accept the suggestion and realize it.

When practicing hypnosis, you will find that it has different depths (we generally can only achieve the lightest hypnosis state and the moderate hypnosis state):

1. The deepest hypnotic state is "memory domination".This is the deepest stage that very few people can get into - it takes a lot of willpower, and once you get to this stage, you are able to see your past. Our past is all recorded in the subconscious mind. When you discover the repressed past here and raise it to the conscious level, you will be able to find a solution to the current psychological distress and purify your mind.

2. The moderate hypnotic state is "sensory domination".This is a stage where you can control your feelings as you like. After reaching a moderate level of sleep, if you start to imply to yourself at this time: your career is booming, your wealth is increasing, and you are affirmed by others... Try to make similar hints as much as possible. When you start from hypnosis When you wake up, you feel that you are already in such a situation.Although this is a "false experience", you can already take corresponding positive actions calmly.

3. The lightest hypnotic state is "motor domination".

This stage is the world of consciousness. We are almost awake and can achieve a state of relaxation, just like lying on the sofa and enjoying music quietly. At this time, we enter a non-judgmental state and are easily led by external things. This also explains why those great stars, politicians and industry leaders can easily influence the public, because their charm has the effect of public hypnosis, and can make people enter the self-hypnotic state of "sports domination" unconsciously.

During self-hypnosis, you need to realize that there is another person deep in your heart, who is speaking to your spiritual self: "Listen, we are starting to kill viruses, open the door, drive those distracting thoughts out, and clear the room. Empty! Make it blank!"

When you are able to get your inner self to listen to you, you open the door to restored focus. Many things that you can't usually do can be achieved under hypnosis, such as remembering things you have forgotten in the past, changing your personality and habits, improving your ability to predict things, and so on.

In fact, we experience trance states several times a day, such as the moments before falling asleep, when we are not fully awakened in the morning, when we are going to listen to a dull lecture, when we are in a daze or daydreaming, etc. We can all understand it. Unconsciously enter a state that has the opportunity to heal attention. It's just that most people don't realize that this is an opportunity for self-healing.

There are hundreds of methods of self-hypnosis, and in the course, I recommend a simple and effective method to the students-this is what I have often used in the past. This method allows our consciousness to have something to do. When implementing it, first fill the consciousness and sensory perception with your own observations (like everything you see and hear around you, fill them in), and then Then gradually narrow down your observation points one by one, and eliminate information until your attention is focused on a certain thing.

First, you need a comfortable and undisturbed environment. Before starting, let the body relax consciously, and tell yourself several times: "When I enter the trance state, I will have a deep rest, and the mind will be calm and focused." The maintenance of this period of time is 15 to 20 minutes .

Secondly, take a comfortable sitting posture and find something brighter for yourself indoors that allows you to concentrate. It could be a light on the TV, a black dot on the wall, or a tiny hook, and then bring your attention to this point you observe.Continue to watch this throughout the time of self-hypnosis, until you can close your eyes automatically - remember, it must be automatic, not active and compulsive.

Finally, under the principle of not moving your eyes away from the point, use your peripheral vision to scan the room and pay attention to the 6 different things you can see. "6" is just a set number. According to the specific conditions of your environment, it can be 4, 3 or 7, 8 and other completely different numbers. Then slowly tell yourself what you saw: "I saw the light switch, the lamp on the table, the coffee table, the color reflection on the floor and the wall chart on the wall, and I saw my hands on my lap. ..." Finally, eliminate these things step by step, concentrate on the point you set at the beginning, stare at and completely forget about the rest of the objects, until you fall asleep.

After you wake up, you will find that your focus has been purified, your brain is refreshed, and your state is much stronger than before. We can stick to this method for a long time and use it to self-hypnotize ourselves at any time during the self-control course.

Mind Reset Tool: Two-way Orientation
"Zeroing" falls under the category of attention management.Attention management was proposed by American scholar Herbert Simon. He pointed out: "In most organizational and personal decision-making processes, attention is a key scarce resource. Successful managers must pay attention to attention. Manage." Therefore, in his book "Science of Man-made Things", he clearly put forward the "management of attention", and juxtaposed "attention" with material resources, emphasizing its scarcity.

Psychological research shows that attention resources are the psychological direction of knowledge operation, thinking and problem solving in people's minds.Attention has the characteristics of selectivity, directivity, concentration, activation, and alertness, as well as the functions of selection, maintenance, adjustment, and integration. In fact, from the perspective of intellectual resources management of mental workers, it is also very important to emphasize the previous link of knowledge workers—the exploration stage. The deprivation of attention leads to the reduction of effective intellectual activity time and the decline in the completion efficiency of core tasks .

Davenport, the American business management master, defined attention as: "Attention is the mental concentration on a specific piece of information. When various information enters our consciousness, we focus on a specific one, and then make a decision whether to take action."

In other words, attention is actually a process of receiving and selecting information, which includes two stages of "exploration" and "decision-making".In the former stage, people screen a large amount of perceptual information from the surroundings; in the latter stage, they decide whether to take action on the information that attracts their attention, that is, decide what to do after receiving the information. Both stages are indispensable, otherwise there would be no attention.

At the end of this lesson, I introduced a convenient method for students to concentrate and manage their attention, that is, to let themselves learn to regard every day as a new starting point, and start from scratch every time they work.Like climbing a building, treat each floor as if you were on the "first floor": I'm standing on the ground, and there's nothing but dirt underneath, so I don't feel stressed at all, I don't need to think about it, I just need to stare at the ground under my feet. Stairs are fine.

Why do some people like to show off themselves with luxury cars and famous watches?Because their focus has been completely on their past - I have achieved so much and made so much money!I must let others see this fact!
If you know how to regard "returning to zero" as the normal state of life, as an excellent continuation and something to be done all the time, then, after just a few years, you will be able to complete a comprehensive transcendence in your life, and you will become a very Focused people show high efficiency when making plans and executing them.

Remember: Think of "returning to zero" as a normal state of life, as an excellent continuation, and as a thing to be done all the time.Only by showing the courage to return to zero can you gain a kind of ability: "Do I dare to replace my original thing with a new one?"
