Lesson 40 The relationship between sound and success

Please see the meaning of the following sentence:

"The man died without cutting off his foot."

One way of reading this sentence is that the person is alive, and another way is that the person is dead.Which fact you want to express is particularly important, the difference between the living and the dead is too great.

Think about the meaning behind this statement and assume that the person is alive.

Assume your actions could save his life.Just imagine, if his feet hadn't been cut off, he wouldn't have lived, but now he's dead because his feet remained.If you think this way, you will not only emphasize the word "death", and the flexible and changeable pronunciation will not only rely on the emphasis of the accent.When reading this sentence, the target point of the voice stays on the word "death", which can be understood as "this person would die if he didn't cut off his feet." Read this sentence 50 times or more, Until you read it to mean, he's alive.

Now try to kill it.

The means of death is your voice.Just imagine, this person is dead.Deciding that he must die anyway, and that it is useless to cut off his feet, he must die, "Even if you hadn't cut off his feet, he would have died."

"Are you going to ride into town today?" What is her intention?
Suppose she puts it another way, such as:

"Are you going to ride your bike into town today?"

The first time the wife was asked, she focused the question on "going to the city", indicating that she wanted to know if anyone was going to the city today.A second questioning showed that she knew someone was going to town, but she wanted to know if it was her husband.

Suppose instead of asking as above, she says:
"Are you going to ride into town today?" Has the intent shifted elsewhere entirely?Someone is going, and you are the person, but how are you going?Only two miles to town.Do you walk, ride or ride?

There is another meaning in the following question:
"Are you going to ride into town today?" Sometimes to the city, or as far as the city;
It can also express an intent:
"Are you going to ride into town today?" This sentence asks whether you are going to the city, somewhere else, or the country.

This sentence contains six (English) words, each of which grabs our attention.

"Are you going to ride your bike into town today?" This statement conveys a very different intent than the other five.Does it mean are you going to town today?

So when the wife asks, "Are you going to ride into town today?" She may not have determined that the other things stated in the sentence are true, but she presupposes that when she asks.

If her husband walks into the room and says to his wife, "I'm going to ride into town today," he must know or should know, and she understands that he's going, and the place he's going to be in town, is today. ; Also, instead of walking, he decided to ride a bike.

Here, the same sentence has a different meaning each time it is repeated.

But the real goal of this lesson is to get you in the habit of expressing yourself exactly.
