Chapter 36

Dear Daddy Long Legs:
The spring breeze in March is blowing, and the heavy dark clouds in the sky are moving. The little bird on the pine tree is chirping non-stop!It seemed to call me out.I really want to close the book and go to the top of the mountain to chase the clouds.

Last Saturday everyone played a game of chase which ended with a 5 mile run on wet field grass. Three girls dressed as foxes went first, carrying a basket of confetti. The 3 hunters set off half an hour later, and I am also a hunter.Halfway through the journey, 27 hunters fell behind, leaving only 8 of us chasing after us.We followed the confetti across the hills and into the swamp, only to lightly jump from one plateau to another, most of us stepping into the water. We often lost contact with them and had to waste 19 minutes in the swamp. Finally, I climbed a hill along the jungle and came to the door of a warehouse. It turned out that the warehouse door was locked and the windows were high and small. They're really rambunctious, aren't they?
Instead of climbing in through the window, we went around to the back of the warehouse and found some scraps of paper there. We climbed over a low shed and over a fence. The foxes thought they could get us down here, but they didn't.After two miles of rolling grass, the confetti dwindled and tracking became more and more difficult. The distance between the two piles of confetti was supposed to be no more than 6 feet, but I've never seen such a long 6 feet.At last, after a good two hours' trek, we found the fox in the kitchen of Crystal Springs (Crystal Springs was a farm where the girls used to go for their supper in sleighs or hay wagons, where there were chickens and flowers husband biscuits). 3 foxes are quietly drinking milk, eating honey and biscuits here, they think we are stuck in the warehouse window and can't catch them!

Both sides thought they had won.I think we should win, what do you think? They were captured by us before they even returned to the campus.19 of us sat down and clamored for honey like locusts. But there wasn't enough honey, and Mrs. Crystal Springs (that's what we call her; her real name was Johnson) brought out a jar of strawberry jam and a jar of syrup (both made just last week), and three pieces of brown bread.

We didn't get back to school until 6 o'clock.Half an hour after dinner, we went straight to the dining room before we had time to change our clothes, and we didn't lose our appetite in the slightest because of the snack. We all took time off from church in the evening, and for good reason - our boots got muddy.

I didn't tell you about the exam.Passed every subject with flying colors - I now know the knack and will never fail again. But even so, I couldn't have been a top student because of my damn freshman Latin and geometry, but I didn't care. When you're in a good mood, nothing goes wrong (this is copied from a book, I'm reading English literature).

Speaking of classics, have you read Hamlet? If not, then start now!It is absolutely a masterpiece.I have heard of Shakespeare for a long time, but I don't know that his writing is so beautiful, so I think he has a false name!

A long time ago - when I first learned to read, there was a game I liked to play.Every night before I go to sleep, I imagine myself to be a character in the book I am reading, a most important character!
I'm Ophelia at the moment - such a clever Ophelia!I want to make Hamlet happy anytime and anywhere, and guide him. When he has a cold, I put a scarf on him to drive all his sorrows away. The king and queen would die in a shipwreck, and the funeral was skipped, and Hamlet and I ruled the Kingdom of Denmark without difficulty. We run the country in order. He runs the government and I run philanthropy.I'm going to start some first-rate orphanages, and if you or any of the trustees want to visit, I'd be happy to be a tour guide.I think you will find a lot of useful inspiration.

Regards, sir.
