Chapter 18 Prajna (3)
⑦Buddhist place: the tenth of the ten places of Tongjiao.It is said that the bodhisattva of the ninth ground finally cuts off the habit of the two obstacles known to affliction and attains the position of Taoism, that is, reaches the position of becoming a Buddha.

⑧Six Consciousnesses: Refers to the six cognitive functions of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. The six states of sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma (concepts and intuitive objects), eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, etc. knowledge, awareness etc.Consciousness, environment, and roots must exist at the same time.The six doors: the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind are also called the six doors.

⑨Six dusts: Refers to the six states of color dust, sound dust, fragrance dust, taste dust, touch dust, and dharma dust, and is also called external dust and six thieves.All living beings use the six consciousnesses to pervade the six roots and ignorant of the true nature, so they are called dust.These six dusts are outside the mind, so they are called outer dusts.These six objects are like thieves, capable of robbing all good dharmas, so they are called the six thieves.

"Good Advisor! When you are not enlightened, the Buddha is a sentient being; when you are enlightened with a single thought, all sentient beings are a Buddha. From this we can see that everything exists in the original mind of the self. Why don't you get the enlightenment from the original mind of the self and see the true as the original mind?" "The "Bodhisattva Precepts Sutra" says: 'My nature is originally pure. If you know your original mind and your mind, you can achieve the Buddha way.' Know your heart.

"Good teacher! I was with the Great Monk Hongren. As soon as I heard the Dharma, I became enlightened, and suddenly realized the true nature. Therefore, I spread the teaching method of this sudden teaching, so that all people who learn the Tao will be enlightened and suddenly see the supremacy of the Buddhadharma." Wisdom, each observes the original mind and sees the original nature. If you cannot be enlightened by yourself, you must find a great good teacher, someone who can understand the highest vehicle of Buddhism, and directly point out the correct path to enlightenment. As good teachers, they have a lot to do with Buddhism. Great causes and conditions, through the so-called enlightenment and guidance, people can see their own nature. All correct principles are initiated and spread by virtuous teachers. All Buddhas and twelve scriptures in the past, present and future, in human beings It is inherent in the original nature. If you cannot self-enlighten, you must seek help from good teachers and enlighten you through their guidance. If you can self-enlighten, you don’t need to resort to external forces. If you are always persistent, claim that you must It is incorrect to rely on other good teachers to obtain liberation. What is the reason for this? It is because one’s own heart originally possesses all wisdom. If the self generates wrong views and delusions, and is perverted by vain thoughts, the external good teachers have It is impossible to save you with the teachings and instructions. If you contemplate with true prajna wisdom, all illusory thoughts will be extinguished in an instant. If you see your own nature, you will reach the state of Buddha when you are enlightened.

"Good Advisor! Use your wisdom to observe and reflect, your heart is transparent inside and outside, and you can see your own original mind. If you see your own original mind, you will be fundamentally liberated. If you are liberated, you will be prajna samadhi, which is no-thought. What is no-thought? If you see everything The phenomenon of things, the original mind is not attached to, not polluted, it is called no thought. When used, it can pervade all places and places, and it is not attached to any one place. As long as the original mind is clean and untainted, the eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness Consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, and the six senses of consciousness are empty from the six doors of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind, and will not be contaminated or disturbed in the six objects of form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma. Miscellaneous, free to come and go, use mastery without hindrance, it is Prajna Samadhi, it is the great freedom of liberation, which is called no-thought practice. If you don’t think about anything, let the mind be extinguished, and you are clinging to the law. If you are bound by the law, this is called a one-sided evil view, and you are one-sided.

Good friends!Those who realize the Dharma of No Thought will understand all dharmas; those who realize the Dharma of No Thought will see the realm of all Buddhas; those who realize the Dharma of No Thought will reach the status of Buddha.

Good friends!Future generations who have obtained my Dharma will take this sudden teaching method, walk with them in the same vision, make a vow to accept and uphold it, and those who will not retreat for life will be determined to be holy.However, it must be taught silently from above ③, and the correct method must not be concealed.If you don't see each other and walk together, in other ways, you can't pass it on, and it will harm your predecessors, and it will be useless after all.I am afraid that fools will not understand it, and slander this Dharma door. For a hundred kalpas and a thousand lives, I will cut off the Buddha's seed ④.

Good friends!I have a tribute to Wuxiang ⑤, each of which must be recited.Become a monk at home, but practice according to this.If you don't self-study, just memorizing my words will not be beneficial.Listen to my chants:
When the speech is clear and the heart is clear, it is like the sun in the sky;
Only the method of seeing nature is passed on, and it is born to break the evil sect.

The Dharma has no suddenness, and there is a delay in enlightenment;
This is the only way to see the door of sex, and fools cannot understand it.

Even though there are all kinds of things, the rationality returns to one;

In the dark house of troubles, the sun of wisdom must always be born.

When evil comes, afflictions arrive, when righteousness comes, afflictions are eliminated;
There is no need for evil or righteousness, and it is pure to nothing.

Bodhi is inherently self-nature, and the mind is delusional;
The pure mind is in delusion, but there are no three hindrances in righteousness⑥.

If people in the world practice Taoism, everything is as good as possible;

I often see my own mistakes, which is equivalent to the Tao.

Colors have their own way ⑦, and they don’t interfere with each other;

Leave the Tao and find the Tao, and never see the Tao for life.

All his life, Bobodu regretted himself at the end;
If you want to see the true way, doing right is the way.

If there is no heart in the eyes, you will not see the way when you walk secretly;
If you are a true cultivator, you will not see the mistakes of the world.

If you see that others are wrong, you are right if you are wrong;
He is not me, I am not my own.

But the self is not the heart, to get rid of troubles;
Hate, love and don't care, lie down with two legs stretched out.

If you want to imitate others, you must have convenience;
Don't let him have doubts, that is, the self-nature is manifested.

Buddha Dharma is in the world, never leave the world;
Seeking Bodhi after leaving this world is like seeking the horns of a rabbit.

Right view is famous in the world, wrong view is in the world;
Evil and righteousness are all defeated, and Bodhi's nature is intact.

This hymn is the Dunjiao, also known as the Great Dharma Boat;
Misunderstanding has been heard for many kalpas, but enlightenment is instantaneous.

The teacher replied: Today, I am teaching this sudden teaching in Dafan Temple, and I wish all living beings in the Dharma Realm to see their nature and become Buddhas.At that time, Wei Shijun, bureaucrats, Taoists and common people heard what the master said, and they all realized it.After saluting for a while, everyone sighed: "It's so good!"When will a Buddha be born in Lingnan?

④ Cutting off the Buddha-nature: Cutting off the Buddha-nature, one can never become a Buddha.

⑤ Phaseless: It is the symmetry of "with phase", which means no form.In all phases, away from all phases, that is, without phases.Because Nirvana transcends all illusory appearances, no appearance is also another name for Nirvana.

⑥Three obstacles: Three kinds of obstacles, also known as triple obstacles, refer to the obstacles of affliction, karma, and ripening obstacles (reward obstacles) that hinder the holy way.

⑦ Form: all living beings with various physical forms, generally referring to all people in the world.

"Good Advisor! Those who comprehend the no-thought method will understand all dharmas; those who comprehend the no-thought method will see the realm of Buddha; those who comprehend the no-thought method will reach the Buddha's fruition.

"Good Advisor! The future generations who receive the Dharma door taught by me need to take this sudden teaching Dharma door together with those who have the same views as him and who are determined to practice together, and make a vow to receive protection and protection, just like worshiping Buddha, and the faith will not fade throughout life. For this reason, you must be able to reach the holy position of the Buddha. However, you must pass on the heart-to-heart teaching method from the Buddha, and you must not hide the orthodox method of the sect. As a fellow practitioner, among those who believe in foreign religions, it is not allowed to teach the Dharma. This will be detrimental to the sages and sages, and it will be of no benefit after all. Because the ignorant and foolish people cannot understand, and will slander this Dharma. Such people The seeds of Buddha nature will be cut off forever for hundreds of kalpas and thousands of lives, and they will not be able to become Buddhas.

"Good advisor! I have a no-phase chanting. Everyone should recite and memorize it. Whether lay people or monks, they must practice according to this chanting. If you don't practice according to this, just memorizing my words is useless. .Everyone, listen to my hymn." The hymn said:

It is like the sun in the void; the only way to pass on the law of seeing nature is to come out of the world and destroy evil sects.

There is no sudden or gradual progression of the Dharma, and there is a slowness in enlightenment; only this is the door of seeing nature, and fools cannot understand it.

The master also said: "The Sudden Teaching method taught in Dafan Temple today, I sincerely hope that all living beings in the world can understand their minds and see their nature after hearing it, and achieve Buddhahood." After listening to what the master said, there is no one who does not understand.At that time, they all saluted Master Huineng and sighed: "It's great! Who would have thought that a real Buddha would appear in this place in Lingnan!"
