[Applications] Clearing the lungs and relieving the throat: used for dry cough caused by lung heat, hoarseness, and sore throat. See "Kaibao Materia Medica" for wood turtle.It is the mature seed of Momordica cochinchinensis (Lour.) Spr., a perennial herbaceous vine of Cucurbitaceae.Mainly produced in Guangxi, Sichuan and Hubei.

[Synonym] Earth wood soft-shelled turtle, shell wood soft-shelled soft-shelled turtle, Lou Lingzi, Ditongzi, duck dung melon seeds, wood turtle melon, Mubezi.

【Efficacy and application】Expelling wind and dampness, strengthening muscles and bones: used for arthralgia due to rheumatism, soreness and swelling of waist and feet, spasms of muscles and bones, delayed walking in children, alone, or in combination with Eucommia, Achyranthes bidentata, papaya, etc.To treat rheumatism, it is often used to soak in wine, such as Wujiapi wine ("Surgery Dacheng"); to treat children with delayed travel, mostly pills and powders.If it is used with Drynaria, Dipsacus, Clematis, etc., it can also treat bruises, such as Wujiasilingsan ("Surgery Dacheng").Diuresis and swelling: used for edema and difficulty urinating, often used together with Poria skin, Dabupi, ginger peel, and orange peel, that is, Wupi Drink ("Ma Ke Huan Ren Quan Shu").In addition, external use of this product has the effect of drying dampness and relieving itching, and can cure eczema and damp itching of the scrotum.
