【Efficacy and Application】Xuanfei Zhike: It is used for aversion to cold and fever due to exogenous wind-cold, cough with adverse Qi, decocted with water alone, or made into extract tablets for consumption.Hemostasis and blood stasis removal: used for hematemesis and gunshot wounds, soaked in wine, or ground into powder and applied to wounds.Invigorate the spleen and eliminate accumulation: It is used for sluggish appetite for spleen deficiency and malnutrition in children. 【Modern Research】Contains wwasonin.The decoction has a certain antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, A-hemolytic streptococcus, Branham catarrhalis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhi in test tubes.

Kelp see "Wu Pu Materia Medica".It is the fronds of Laminaria japonica Aresch. or Eckloniakurome Okam. of the family Kelpaceae.It is mainly produced in coastal areas such as Shandong, Liaoning, and Zhejiang.

[Synonym] Sea kelp.

【Efficacy and application】Resolving phlegm and softening firmness: It is used for goiter and scrofula caused by phlegm-fire condensation.
