Mind Reading: The Terrible Psychology 2
Chapter 1 Preface
Chapter 1 Preface
Because of the Great East Japan Earthquake, I was invited by Iwate Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture and other places to visit local evacuation facilities as a "psychological counselor of the heart".But to be honest, I really don't want to accept this invitation.
Say "psychology" to parents who have lost their children right in front of them? And the kids who lost so many friends, say "psychology" to them?
After all, learning is just talking on paper. It can be said that I am just engaged in a "non-pragmatic career".What can a man like me do for them? What is it like to work in psychology in such a place? When I saw the sweat streaming down the faces of the volunteers who were desperately running around to carry food and clothes, I felt uneasy and my legs were weak. What they do is "real work".
I was prepared in my heart, and I could imagine the scolding from the asylum seekers. They'd probably say, "You're here to see hell, right? We don't need counselors!"
However, the reality is different from what I thought.
There was an old lady who came from afar and ran over as soon as she saw me, but what she told me out of breath was: "My daughter-in-law only bullies me, what should I do? what?"
Or middle school and high school students, they asked me: "I met someone I like while camping, do you have any good advice?"
I really felt that they were actually "children of God".None of them mentioned to me, who is a psychological professional, the disaster they suffered in the earthquake.A man once said: "Disaster is our destiny." They used their actions to tell that we who survived and lived in this world must move forward in the new day bestowed by God.Doesn't that sound like a "child of God"?
I was surrounded by poor people and the counseling I received was only about relationships and love.It is in such a situation that things like these shine more brightly. All in all, I once again think that I should continue this "impractical career" with these experiences.
Whether it is the psychology hidden in daily life or the psychology hidden in disaster-stricken areas, their roots may be the same type.I would be honored if readers could let their imaginations run wild in the concept of human existence, and read this book in conjunction with their own everyday experiences.
