Chapter 2 Preface
"Seal Commando Physical Training Manual" is specially tailored for Navy SEAL military physical training, and provides training guidance for SEALs and other trainers. Readers can find the following relevant information in this book:

How to improve motor skills to meet special combat needs;
How to improve cardiorespiratory fitness and other physical fitness in the long term;
How to avoid training injuries and how to resume normal military physical training;

How to conduct military physical fitness training in confined spaces such as garrison bases or submarines;
……

If this information can provide effective guidance for the reader in training, then we have successfully achieved the purpose of writing.Being a Navy SEAL is not an easy job and requires excellent qualities of strength and endurance.Both acute training injuries and chronic training injuries pose a great threat to the successful completion of combat missions, but as long as the training guidelines are strictly followed, correct training methods and a cautious training attitude are adopted, the risk of injury can be reduced.A correct understanding of the basic requirements of physical training is very beneficial to becoming a qualified SEAL or special forces member.

People usually divide physical fitness into various physical qualities, and improve corresponding qualities through different physical training activities.These physical qualities are measurable and can be divided into two categories: technical physical qualities and healthy physical qualities (see Table I-1 for details).

The various concepts of physical fitness mentioned above are introduced in detail in Chapter 1 "Introduction to Physical Training", and these qualities are extremely important in the physical training of Navy SEALs.These qualities are measurable, and therefore, human physical fitness levels are also divided into different levels, from low to high.Moreover, even in the case of the same individual, there are differences in the levels of various physical qualities in him. For example, a person may have high cardiorespiratory endurance, but his flexibility may be low.Therefore, a single quality of fitness does not automatically translate into a higher level of fitness.Individuals with extremely healthy bodies may have high levels of healthy physical fitness, but the Navy SEALs have higher requirements for physical fitness, and their members must pass military physical training to make their own technical and healthy physical fitness meet the standards .This book provides relevant training guidelines for SEAL team members to balance various physical qualities, comprehensively improve physical fitness levels, and make full preparations for future battles.
