Compassionate Guru, you are always so eager to protect every kind thought and deed of your disciples.
At the end of the Tibetan Earth Rat Year, I returned to my hometown.The winter in Zhaxichilin is so quiet.Time is in pieces, day and night alternate silently, and the passage of time is joyful and clear.
At the foot of Matou Vajra God Mountain, where Tashi Chilin is located, was once the residence of Karma Living Buddha.Back then, at the request of the Living Buddha, Dharma King Ruyibao preached profound teachings such as choosing between good and evil for Yulong's believers.Today, the courtyard where Karma Living Buddha lives has been converted into a nursing home, providing a place for the nearby elderly to practice with peace of mind and have no worries about food and clothing.
The bed used by His Holiness Ruyibao while resting here is well preserved in the sutra hall of the nursing home.Every time I give a lecture in a nursing home, that bed brings back many memories for me.His Holiness Ruyibao also had such a bed in his residence at Wuming Buddhist College. In the past, His Holiness’ room was very small, and a single bed took up almost half of the space.He always sits on the bed and chats with us, he is so close and warm!
The nearby Tibetans rushed over, but many of them hesitated when they reached the foot of the mountain, fearing that they would disturb the owner by going up the mountain, so they gathered around the nursing home at the foot of the mountain.I would go to the nursing home almost every afternoon, chat with them, and preach the Dharma to them.I am really happy to meet them. Many of them are my childhood playmates. Being with them often reminds me of my childhood and the simple happiness at that time.
The number of Tibetans who came to listen to the Fa gathered more and more, from dozens of people to more than 2000 people later.They are devout and enthusiastic, and they often refuse to leave after classes or pujas are over. They always stand by the side of the road for a long time, waiting for me to offer their bright smiles and shy greetings when I come out to walk around the mountain, and then I leave contentedly.
On the way home, they might think of the Dharma they just heard and let them enjoy it, so they let go of their throats and sing, or the names of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, mantras, or impromptu songs.The resonant and loud singing echoes in the Yulong Valley, making this winter evening more peaceful.
On such an evening, after I finished my lecture, I walked along the mountain path and accidentally looked up and saw a round cloud floating in the western sky. I thought it must be the manifestation of my master Dharma King Ruyibao.Guru came to see me from the Western Paradise!The old man never left me!Every time I go back to my hometown and see the relics left by the Dharma King here, I will miss my master Dharma King Ruyi even more strongly.
In the spring of 1994 (the year of the wooden dog in the Tibetan calendar), Dharma King Ruyibao went to the Dokham area for the second time to preach the Dharma, and I have been by his side all the time.Even though I knew in advance that I would pass by my hometown on the way of preaching the Dharma, I secretly hoped that maybe Dharma King Ruyibao would come to my house for a sit-down.But to be honest, this is too big of an expectation for me, and just thinking about it makes my heart pound with excitement.
Later, when Dharma King Ruyibao actually walked into my simple cow-hair tent to bless and teach the Dharma to the people who came to visit me, I was so happy that I wanted to cry, afraid that all this was just a dream.
The world is like a dream!As if in the blink of an eye, everything in it changed.It has been five years since Dharma King Ruyibao passed away.The ox hair tent becomes a white pagoda, reminding people that a saint once stayed, rested and preached the Dharma here on sunny days, in snowy days, and in the impermanent and long years.This white pagoda will eventually be turned into powder under the sword of time and blown away by the wind. At that time, my thoughts and gratitude to the Dharma King Chopsticks, and people's thoughts and gratitude to the Dharma King Chopsticks will continue.
Dharma Wang Ruyibao lives a simple life and has no requirements for basic necessities of life.He doesn't like to wear shoes and socks, and often walks barefoot all year round.I remember that we were waiting for His Holiness to give lessons in the sutra hall. As long as we heard the familiar sound of those thick big feet walking all the way on the floor, we knew that the master had arrived.Thinking of the scene at that time to this day, I still seem to be able to hear the eager and steady footsteps of His Holiness the Holiness.
The clothes donated by the disciples are often worn by the Dharma king once or twice and then passed on to others.He also took out the money offered by the believers and distributed it to the monks of the college.It is said that when he was studying at Jamma Buddhist College, he had almost nothing and offered all his meager belongings to Guru Toga Ruyibao several times, not even leaving a piece of clothing. Wear the clothes and pay them back slowly when you have money.
Later, in the Larung Wu Ming Buddhist College, the King of Dharma took his sister Ali Medjoo Dakini and niece Mentso Dakini several times to sell all their belongings except Buddha statues, scriptures and a suit of clothes, and the money was shared equally by the monks and nuns of the college.
Apart from the need to hold Fa conferences, His Holiness does not usually like to wear hats.He once said that it would be disrespectful for the guru and the Sangha to be worn by the monks if they had nothing to do. If they had to wear it, they would only wear the small round hat used by Guru Rinpoche.
I remember that after His Holiness talked about this in the classroom, the monks in the academy really stopped wearing hats. Only Amo Radho was unconventional. He found someone to order a small round hat like Guru Rinpoche, and walked around wearing it on his head. No matter how everyone made fun of him, he didn't care.Looking back now, he was really a willful person!Later, he sat down to death and passed away gracefully, fulfilling a point of view of the Dzogchen Nyingtig Vajrayana: As long as one learns from a guru who has a pure and undefiled lineage and has extraordinary enlightenment, a practitioner can only rely on being firm to the guru. confidence will be liberated.Dharma King Ruyibao is just such a guru who can entrust the happiness of this life and the afterlife to him.
In 1994, Tashichi Forest was just an open space in the middle of Matou King Kong Mountain.Dharma King Ruyibao heard that we were going to build a dojo there, so he went up to the mountainside to give blessings to the later Tashichi Forest.Compassionate Guru, who is always so eager to protect every kind thought and deed of his disciples!
Dharma King Ruyibao once asked us to write the vows we made on a slip of paper and hand them to him in class.Some people vowed to practice in closed doors all their lives, and some vowed to write books and preach to promote Buddhism.I remember what I wrote at the time: Do my best to spread the Dharma and benefit living beings.
His Holiness was very satisfied after reading our note. He smiled and said, "You must do what you say. Even if I leave in the future, I will always look back to see if you are fulfilling your promise." Since then, We all have clearer goals in our lives, and we are full of confidence because we know that His Holiness is paying attention to every effort we put in and every achievement we make.He is always there for us!
Dharma King Cintama is the real Buddha.For ordinary people, the realm of Buddha is inconceivable.The compassion and wisdom of the Dharma King that we feel is just a drop in the ocean of the Buddha's endless merit storehouse.Many people went to the academy to participate in the Dharma ceremony of His Holiness, and found that the fire that melted iron into slurry could not burn the fleshy heart of His Holiness, and what emerged after the flames was the Vajra relic.
Ordinary practitioners, if the precepts are pure, practice diligently, and achieve the Arhat or Bodhisattva status, there may be relics during the puja, but they are definitely not vajra relics.Vajra relics appear in Buddhism only when practitioners have attained Buddhahood.Therefore, Dharma King Ruyi Jewel is indistinguishable from all Buddhas. This is not an exaggeration, nor is it a convenient assumption.If we sincerely pray to the Dharma King during our practice, we will definitely receive the blessings of the Buddha without any doubt.
Although some lay practitioners have never met the Karmapa in person, they have great confidence in the Karmapa and very much want to use the Karmapa as their guru.Later, they asked someone if they could visualize the Dharma King as their guru, but the person said, "You have never received Dharma transmission, empowerment from the Dharma King, and you have never heard of the Dharma under the Dharma King's throne, so the Dharma King is not your guru. Now you can ask for empowerment from me so that we can confirm the relationship between the master and the disciple." After hearing about this incident, I was very sad.
It obviously doesn't make sense that you can't be a guru if you haven't met.In the history of Buddhism, there are many examples of practitioners relying on the spiritual guidance and blessings of their predecessors who have passed away to realize their true nature.Like the Dzogchen patriarch Jigme Lingpa and the all-knowing Dharma King Wugou Guang lived hundreds of years apart. However, relying on his uncommon faith in Wugou Guang, Jigme Lingpa always prayed to Wugouguang when he practiced the Dharma Finally, under the blessing of the master, he achieved the Buddhahood that is indistinguishable from the master, and was honored by the disciples of the Nyingmapa as another Dzogchen patriarch after the Venerable Wugouguang.
Another example is His Holiness Cintamani and the Omniscient Mipham Rinpoche.Before the birth of His Holiness, Mipham Rinpoche had passed away, but His Holiness had firm confidence in this predecessor. When he was a teenager, he recited Mipham Rinpoche's "Directly Pointing to the Heart" 100 times and Maipan After Peng Rinpoche prayed [-] million times, he realized the Supreme Dzogchen.Therefore, the key between the master and the disciple is the spiritual connection.Genuine confidence can travel through time and space, and the blessings of achievers are omnipresent.
Most of today's Buddhists have probably never seen Shakyamuni Buddha in person.If we are not a guru if we have not seen it, then Shakyamuni Buddha is not our guru, and we cannot call ourselves disciples of the Shakyamuni. Isn’t this contradictory?
As long as anyone has true faith in the Dharma King Chopstick, he can visualize the Dharma King Chopstick as his guru.
