A Failure's hopeful Journey

The Mirai Group was now fastening its belt to tackle the unexpected problem in front of them. Inside You Xi Wang's bedroom sat many people. All of them had a solemn expression on their faces.

Inside You Xi Wang's room sat the elders of You family, his friends, and his sister. Emily, Susan, and Celes stood beside You Zhichi while Maya sat near You Xi Wang with a vigilant expression as she did not know anyone in this place except for the group of kids she met in the forest. 

You Ziyou spoke after the group explained everything, "You are telling me you brat took on one core formation realm, dark dweller, and Two groups of spiritual-formation teams of dark dwellers proficient in the soul cultivation. Correct? I missed nothing out. Did I?"

The group shook their heads in sync. Even though Snow was new to these people, her synchronization was commendably good. You Ziyou looked at his grandson who was peacefully sleeping on the bed, and then he turned to look at this group of brats. His gaze was so strong that the kids gulped and took a step back. 

Observing the situation You Naixin stepped up and said, "Ninth brother, if you gaze at my kids like this, be assured I will shave you all bald." her words were targeted at all the elders of the family (her brothers). The elders quickly said, "Ninth brother, spare the kids after all that has happened we should be proud that they survived the attacks and even took down such formidable opponents." the one who spoke was the second elder of the family, You Chengshi.

You Ziyou helplessly shook his head as he knew this sister of hers will do what she just said. Chen Qianbei heaved a sigh of relief and after some discussion, the elders left. Only You Ziyou stayed behind with an excuse that he wants to check on You Xi Wang again. 

After Emily closed the door of the room, they all scurried their way towards You Xi Wang's bed, surrounding it. They were all gazing at him from top to bottom. Maya felt uneasy coz they were all so strong and in panic cast her camouflage making You Xi Wang and herself vanish.

Yuki shook her head and said with a smile, "Maya, we will not harm him." Shadow who laid in her arms laid a growl to convey this message to her sister, and only then did Maya removed the illusion.

Susan held You Xi Wang's wrist to check his pulse. After the assessment, she said, "Xi Wang's body is functioning normally. There is no problem."

Chen Qianbei probed with her soul sense and stated that it was his soul that was exhausted and he will be fine after sleeping for two days. You Naixin asked, "Why is there this faint golden glow from his body?"

Yuki spoke up, "Since we are all his close ones, I wouldn't mind telling you guys. Xi Wang can use five elements, when combined they look golden. So maybe he is absorbing energy from the five elements altogether."

You Zhichi and Celestia however were unconcerned about all this and just wanted You Xi Wang to get better. Celestia tugged at Chen Qianbei's sleeve, who looked at her and asked, "What is it, Celes?"

The little girl replied, "Aunt BeiBei, when will big brother wake up?"

Chen Qianbei gently tussled her hair and said, " soon, sweetheart. How about we prepare a gift for him? So, that when he wakes up he will be happy? How about this?"

The little girl was very innocent and was easily coaxed by Chen Qianbei, and agreed. She left to find her friends to help her with it after she kissed You, Xi Wang, on his cheeks and wished him to get well soon. 

Yuki whispered to Chen Qianbei softly when others were busy, "Aunt, do not remove his battlesuit, for the time being, there is something which he found after great risk. Let him wake up first." the latter nodded in agreement.

You Naixin sent all his friends home. Now Chen Qianbei, You Naixin, You Zhichi, You Ziyou, Emily, Susan, and Snow were left in the room. Snow was asked to stay behind by You Zhichi. She was not yet aware of her classmate's circumstances. 

You Zhichi spoke first, "Snow, what were you doing in the Whispering Woods?"

Snow looked around and she looked down towards the floor as she said in a solemn voice, "My father worked for Seedling Inc. as a senior explorer. He was given an assignment inside the forest. At first, it was okay, but then one day his updates and calls stopped. So, I went and check at home, thinking that maybe mom knew something. When I reached home, I found my mother was missing. Someone is definitely targeting us. So, after I couldn't find any help, I went to look for him and came across You Xi Wang." her eyes were clouded when she finished speaking, You Naixin came to her side and hugged her in consolement. 

Chen Qianbei asked, "Why did you not seek help from the Council?" 

Snow was in You Naixin's embrace spoke, "I did. They said they will dispatch an enforcer but after a few hours, that enforcer went missing too. They then made a better team for this investigation."

You Zhichi spoke, "It is good that you came across, Xi Wang. From now on, you are my friend. I am not taking a no for an answer this time. Also, don't worry, it will be alright."

Snow said nothing, only nodded in acceptance as tears fell off from her eyes. She hurriedly wiped them off. She felt warm inside her heart after this family displayed such affection towards her.

You Ziyou spoke, "I will leave you guys to it. These brazen bastards.....I need to meditate or I will burst a vein."

He left the room in wide stripes. This was going to be one long night for the family. Slowly everyone left. Snow was stayed in a guest house by You Naixin. Chen Qianbei left to handle some affairs too. Leaving behind only You Zhichi, Emily, and Susan.

You Zhichi stroked her brother's face gently as she mumbled, "It has been hard on you, Gougou." she never liked her brother to be in pain, and seeing him like this hurt her too. She had tears in her eyes. 

Emily asked, "Zhichi, why are you crying? What if, Young master got to know? Will he not blame himself?"

You Zhichi shook her head, "You better not snitch on me, Emily, or I will tell him how you were drooling while imagining things in broad daylight."

Emily opened her eyes wide and her face turned as red as a tomato. She jumped on her best friend, grabbed her shoulder, and shook her while saying, "Don't you dare do that, Zhichi?"

You Zhichi smirked, "Or what? try to do something and I will ask my brother to not talk to you."

Emily felt like she was hit by lightning. She cried, "Why are you so cruel?"

You Zhichi laughed at this and looked at Susan, who gulped as she felt her gaze. You Zhichi shook her head and said, "Relax sister Susan, I am not like that. I won't tell him how you asked granny Xin to show you his childhood pictures almost every day."

Susan fell down on her knees and said dramatically, "Oh Celestial Maiden, please spare this humble maid."

She exchanged a glance with Emily and they both started tickling her. Their laughter echoed throughout the room. When after sometime Maya couldn't take it she growled which was ignored and then she cast Icicles when the girls saw this, they understood that they were disturbing You Xi Wang and thus left after apologizing to Maya.

The night turned into day and the cycle continued for a week. Naixin, Chen Qianbei, Emily, Susan, and You Zhichi each would spend some time inside the room looking after him daily, while Celestia was happier that she would sleep on a different bed placed in the same room. That was what she decided until her big brother wakes up.
