A Father's Duty

I just woke up early as per usual and continued on my way to the kitchen. The chefs who were practicing their craft saw me and bowed their heads. In their eyes, I am the one who advanced the cooking industry with my cooking appliances. I made myself and Irene our breakfast as went back to our room and woke up Irene.

"Good morning, beautiful." I said and gave her a light kiss on her forehead before placing a tray with stacks of sandwiches, a glass of water, and a glass of orange juice in front of her.

Irene then opened her eyes and saw a tray of breakfast. I handed her a warm glass of water to start her day and fed her with sandwiches. Even after eating my food everyday, the food always tickle her taste buds and can't help but smile in delight after eating sandwiches.

"When do we leave?" Irene asked me after having her fill.

"After we explain the situation to the chipmunks and my family." I said as she nodded.

I started packing up some clothes and Irene prepared the foods. I have also explained to my family that we will be gone for a while and take care of the chipmunks while we're gone. The chipmunks were kind of sad but I consoled them and told them that I will take them with us after we deems it to be safe.

We waved goodbye to them after we finished our preparations. We wore a cloak and took a horse with us and travelled to a nearby cluster of trees.

After making sure that there are no one around us, I used the random world ticket and a portal appeared before us. Irene seemed reluctant once more after seeing the portal so I held her hand and entered together.

We are in a white space with lots of doors surrounding us. Irene then started inspecting the doors to see if she could find something.

While Irene is fascinated and started studying the doors, my system started giving me a beginner's guide about world travelling.

[Every world that the host travels into are all alternate universe, to maintain the balance in the main world because of host's arrival. Though, even if they are AUs, the changes to people are only slight and wouldn't affect much.

With host being in their world, the ripples caused by your arrival depends on how you interact with the people of that world. Also, every world you travel to has maybe one or two suitable ingredient or food for your gourmet cells.

System can also give host mission depending on the world you're into, this is optional though. If you just want to find the suitable ingredient then its fine if you don't take the mission.

The time dilation between your world and the other world will always be 1 is to 1, 1 year in other world is 1 day back in your original world. Host's age will follow the rules of your original world.

Host could also return to the original world anytime, but there's a limitation, if host travels thrice in a row, the portal will not refresh and host will not be able to travel for a day to other worlds. The refresh rate of the portal is every day.

If host is ready, give me a sign and I will open the random door that will lead you to another world.]

I processed everything that the system said. And in simple terms:

1. All worlds I travelled into are alternate universes. Although alternate universes, the changes in characters are small and wouldn't affect much.

2. The ripples caused by my arrival depends if I decides to ȧssociate myself to the people of those world.

3. There are ingredient/s or food/s that are suitable for my gourmet cells.

4. The system can issue missions to me and it depends on me whether I accept them or not since they are optional.

5. There is a time dilation of 1:1, 1 year in other world is one day in Fairy Tail world. Also we won't age since our body follows the time of our original world. It would take us 365 years before aging for a year in other worlds.

6. We could travel back to our world, but there's a limitation. If we travelled in the portal three times in a row, the whole day, the portal will not refresh for a day and i'll have to wait for a day before travelling back to that world.

I then hollered the system to open the door to the other world and the system complied as a door to my far left opened up. Irene also noticed the door opening and got even more curious.

"Are you ready, my love?" I asked before Irene nodded.

Irene knew that this is not space magic because of its complexity and the space seemed to be built already but she trusted her husband that he will tell her when its time.

I held Irene's hand as the portal dropped us to a forest.

'What are the missions, system?' I asked

[Host would need to have a background of the world first before the system issues the mission.]

I nodded while Irene seemed to be surprised as she can tell that this is indeed different world. She can't feel any signs of ethernano in the air but another power similar to ethernano lingering in the air. She started suċkɨnġ the energy in the air and felt that there's no change at all.

"Irene, can you scan the place?" I asked as Irene nodded before chanting an eye in the sky and she hid it with a concealment rune.

"There's something right ahead, although I don't know if its a house or something because of its weird design." She said as I nodded. I then suggested to change our clothes as I wore my adventurer outfit while Irene wore her witch's outfit and covered ourselves with a cloak. We don't know what's in store for us so its necessary to not reveal any of our cards for now.

We then started making our way towards that 'something' that Irene felt. I am kind of surprised because Irene said it is located in a cliff.

When we were near the place, I finally saw the 'something' that Irene saw and I was kind of surprised about that something, because if I remember correctly, it is a bar.

Goumen, I couldn't catch cliff-kun. He's too fast even for me. He even gave me a middle finger before being out of sight.

The reason why I chose this world other than Toriko World is because MC's gourmet demon haven't manifested yet also it is also a medieval era which will make it easy for Irene to adapt into.
