A Second Chance In Remnant
Chapter 65 - 65. Games to be Played
Silva POV
In the last few months, I have been busy not only building my mansion up in Atlas but making preparations to head to Vale next. I have a few goals there, one, find Miltia and Melanie to fulfill my promise to them because I have had my fill with not crossing the line and losing my V card in this life. Two, get Emerald before Cinder and maybe kill Mercury while I am at it because unlike Emerald who felt horrified at the fall of Beacon, Mercury enjoyed watching it burn.
Three, see about meeting Ozpin, Glynda Goodwitch, Coco Abel, and Velvet for different reasons. With Ozpin I want to see if he has any sort of defense against mind-reading with him being one of the few magic casters on Remnant. Glynda, Coco, and Velvet I just want to meet because they are some of my favorite characters. And finally, check out the ruins in the Emerald Forest to see if they are from the age of Gods and Magic or Salem and Ozma's old kingdom but I hope for the age of Gods and Magic because there might be some knowledge on magic there that might help me.
But before any that, I need to work on Thunderous Roar because it having 4 weapon configurations makes it annoying to perform maintenance on. I simplified its design by changing its general shape into a large crescent-shaped blade that had 3 handles within it that made it so that I can use it as a great sword or polearm by changing how I hold it. I kept the riot shield form because I like having some large cover to not only protect me but others as well. I changed the name to Roaring Crescent due to its shape and ability to withstand my Semblance Echo Tremor.
I have also been working on a few side projects as well which brings me to my present.
-
Winter was seated across me in my new living room and I told her.
Silva: Winter, I have something I wish to give you.
I took out a large box and placed it in front of her. Winter looked at me curiously and opened the box revealing a saber and dagger that I designed for her. The saber was a light silver-gray color with a white handle that had a black snowflake pattern on it and an unusually shaped guard on it that had a small engine-like thing on the back of it. The dagger was similar to it but smaller and doubled-edged with a black handle and white snowflake pattern on it. Both of them had triggers on them and I explained to Winter what they can do.
I took up the saber and ran my aura through it then pulled the trigger on it, it released a high pitch metallic screech and the air around it trembled from the vibrations. I brought out some thick steel plates from my Blue Jade Ring to show Winter just how lethal these weapons are. I cut through them clean in half with very little resistance making Winter's eyes go wide at my display and I then placed the saber back in the box and pushed it towards her. Rory walked into the living room with Lilith in tow and commented.
Rory: Oh? You gave Winter something and not me? You know how to make a girl jealous My dear Silva.
I could tell Rory was joking partly but I took out another box to give her and I opened it. In the box was another weapon I designed but for Rory. It was a long thin sword that had curved bladed claws on the back of the blade. I took it out and ran my aura through it. It started to extend itself and snake itself around me as I explained to Rory.
Silva: For you Rory a new Sword-Whip that has a cord made of a platinum-based alloy to hold the different sections. This makes it highly reactive to aura and semblances making it possible to manipulate it with just your aura, like so.
The weapon then took up a heart-shaped form from the handle then into a star-shaped one to show her what I mean. She snatched it from my hands and started to test it for herself looking quite pleased with it. I turned back to Winter and asked her.
Silva: Do you like it?
Winter admired the saber and dagger then replied.
Winter: Yes thank you, Silva.
I smiled then told her.
She looked at me with a questioning look and waited for me to continue.
Silva: You see if it is fine with you I would like you to move into my new mansion with me.
She blinked a few times stunned at my offer then gave me a slight smile and replied.
Winter: I would like that Silva.
I could not help but grin then said.
Silva: Alright then I will help you pack at your place.
I secretly took out the soul crystal that had the Semblance Where The Heart Resides inscribed in it to open a portal to her apartment and dragged Winter in with me. Soon the scenery changed to Winter's apartment and she commented with a wry smile.
Winter: You're certainly eager Silva.
I grinned at her and asked slightly embarrassed.
Silva: I'm I that obvious?
( Sometime Later)
It did not take long for me to help Winter move by packing her things and waiting for her to finish up the paperwork. Once I moved her to my mansion in Atlas I entered her identity into the security system I designed. Robotic dogs patrolling the area equipped with back-mounted weaponry, stationary turrets of railguns, missiles, and heavy machine guns that can takeout a squadron of Bullheads, and finally a means of separating the mansion from Atlas and making it fly with gravity dust. Yeah, I might have gone overboard on security but whatever.
As Winter picked a room for herself I went back to work on one of my projects in the garage, well 2. In the garage, I have a truck I am building from the ground up that goes off-road and over water with its hover function. I decked it out with a turret that I can operate as I drive plus a ramming guard on the front and back of it. The other vehicle I am working on is a hoverbike capable of atmospheric flight and high-speeds overland. While not decked out with weapons I did design it to holster weapons with ease.
I am done with walking through Remnant for the time being. As I worked on the fine-tuning of both vehicles Lilith came into the garage and found a spot to sit in watching me work. I looked towards her and asked.
Silva: What up Lilith?
She replied simply.
Lilith: Bored...
I slowly nodded then offered.
Silva: Would you like to help me?
I then head for the kitchen to check on the chef bots progress for dinner, after all, why bother hiring a top chef from Atlas or Minstrel when I can build one and program their pseudo personality to not be racist with all their know-how in the kitchen added. Rory likes them pretty well because are very familiar with her likes and dislikes and even provides her with new dishes occasionally she comes to like.
When finished checking on the kitchen I then head for the dining room that currently only has a small table for the 3 of us because Lilith can't eat nor needs to. Still haven't figured out how to convert food into bio-fuel yet so that she can join in on the festivities with an artificial stomach. But I do still research on it for her to have a more normal life without drawing attention because I am sure Ironwood would try to claim her as Atlas property, after all, she is made with Atlas tech if he finds out about her again.
Dinner started and I told Rory who already moved here before Winter and Winter my plans.
Silva: Ladies I have an announcement.
They both looked towards me as I told them.
Silva: I plan on leaving Atlas soon for Vale to attend Beacon when I turn 17.
Winter then asked a bit concerned.
Winter: Is there anything we can say to make you attend Atlas instead?
Rory also chipped in her thoughts on the manner.
I smiled appreciated them but I told them my d.e.s.i.r.e.
Silva: I wish to attend Beacon because I feel it is the best place for me to make lasting bonds.
Rory bluntly quipped.
Rory: So you want to increase your harem...
While Rory looked amused, Winter facepalmed herself exasperated with me and I avoided eye contact with either of them and shrugged with a wry smile. The 2 women of my life looked at each other and sighed with a wry "What can you do" expression. I heard the doorbell ring and went to check who it is bothering us at this time. As I reached the door to see who it is, I opened the door to find Robyn Hill at my doorstep.
Not wanting to deal with her I prepare to slam the door in her face she spoke in a hurry.
Robyn: WAIT!!! Look we may have gotten off the wrong foot before.
I stopped and looked at her waiting for her to continue.
Robyn: Okay I am sorry for before but was it really necessary to flip me on my back?
Silva: I might have gone overboard but what brings you here today?
She cleared her throat and asked first.
Robyn: May I come in?
I thought about it for a moment and opened the door further for her to come in. To my surprise, the rest of the Happy Huntresses soon followed along with her. I sighed and asked them.
Silva: Would all of you like to join us for dinner?
Robyn answered back.
Robyn: We already ate but thank you.
May Merrygold whistled and commented.
May: I heard that the old haunted mansion was finally torn down but I didn't believe it till now.
Fiona and Joanna looked at their fellow Happy Huntress and asked together.
Fiona/Joanna: Haunted?
May filled them in and Robyn asked me.
Robyn: So did you not only tear down the haunted mansion for good but also gained property in Atlas despite being a Faunus?
I shrugged and answered vaguely.
Silva: I have connections.
This is true but not the entire truth after all I am not friends with Robyn at least not yet even if I support her platform in the future election. Robyn did not ask further and I sent a text message to Rory and Winter that I am entertaining guests and asked the Happy Huntresses.
Silva: How about we move to my office to continue our chat?
I walked off to the staircase leading to the second floor and they followed me quietly. It did not take long to reach the office and we took our seats I then asked Robyn.
Silva: So what brings the famous Robyn Hill to my doorstep? Oh, and would you like a drink?
Robyn replied lightly.
Robyn: No thank you and I am here to confirm the rumors of a Faunus owning a residence here in Atlas and just happen to find out it was you of all people.
Her expression turned serious as she asked.
Robyn: What do you think of Atlas as a whole?
I responded honestly.
Silva: The divide between humans and faunus is obvious along with the separation of the poor and wealthy.
Robyn nodded in agreement then asked me.
Robyn: What if you could help make things right?
Sighed and already guessed where this is conversation heading to and answered.
Silva: What right or wrong is subjective to one's perspective and it ultimately depends on how I help then why I help.
She then asked me what I expected.
Robyn: I have connections of my own and I have a means of participating in the next election in a few years for the council... So if you can help me I can help others along with you as well because there are movements to remove you from this place.
I was already aware of this due to bigotry that fills the heads of the so-called upper class of Atlas and I already have the means to deal with it myself but she does not need to know that at least not yet.
Silva: Hmm, I have yet to hear anything of what I stand to gain from helping you plus thank you for the information but I can probably handle that movement myself than rely on you.
She looked at me surprised at my statement probably thinking that alone should have convinced me to help her. While I may not know of a way to make hate go away quickly I do know that there is a slow way that takes several generations to at least weaken prejudice and that takes careful planning and an iron will that needs to be passed on to the next generation. Thinking about this makes me feel old but I put it aside for now and focus on Robyn's next move.
I hate getting involved with politics but unfortunately, I am now getting dragged into them due to my getting land ownership up in Atlas. Robyn composed herself and bluntly asked me.
Robyn: What would it take for you to support me?
I smiled at her and explained a plan I have had in mind for a while could not implement because of a few factors.
Silva: What if I were to tell you I had the means to provide Mantle with power without the use of dust?
Robyn looked interested and gestured for me to continue.
I used my scroll to bring up a hologram of my aerial wind turbines and the place I have in mind to set them up and continued.
Silva: What you see before you are wind turbines that convert the wind itself into electricity and an ideal spot to set them up. Now I won't bore you with the finer details on how they work but I assure you they do work as intended.
Robyn looked over them with a scrutinizing eye and extended her hand towards me and I took it. Her green aura wrapped around my hand as she asked me.
Robyn: Are you telling the truth?
Silva: Yes.
There was a positive reaction from her semblance confirming my honesty and she then asked me.
Robyn: Why have you not implemented them earlier?
Silva: Let me ask you who stands to gain from preventing them from spreading or who is likely to confiscate them for "The Greater Good of Atlas"?
Robyn widens her eyes in the realization that I meant Jacques Schnee and the Atlesian Military meaning James Ironwood. She figured out what I wanted from her and said.
Robyn: You want me to suppress both Ironwood and Jacques so that you profit.
I smiled and corrected her.
Silva: No so that " We" may profit because if you become co-owner in name only so that this project may be under your protective umbrella and you gain funds for your election and other projects that you may want to implement but lack the Lein to do so.
She let goes of my hand and hold her chin in thought for a few minutes then says to me.
Robyn: I think this might be the start of a beautiful friendship, Mister..?
Silva: Cloud, Silva Cloud, and I agree Ms.Hill.
We smiled at each other like we are as thick as thieves and I thought to myself.
Time to shake up Atlas a bit.
In the last few months, I have been busy not only building my mansion up in Atlas but making preparations to head to Vale next.
