“Thank you for risking yourself to rescue us and even expending that much effort hiding from zombies. Thank you so much for coming to the third floor.”

“What do you mean? Us?” Crowe paused for a second. Wasn’t Sandra the only one hiding in this dorm room? Speaking of which, he had just realized that previously he heard from someone that Sandra shared the same dorm room with another girl who also had the stunning look and equally excellent grades.

‘Was she that girl?’

“You seem to have the wrong idea here.” Crowe looked at the thin and frail Sandra and said calmly.

“What do you mean by the wrong idea?” The normal volume of Crowe’s voice made Sandra’s heart jump again. Then she realized the meaning of Crowe’s words, she couldn’t help but become curious and asked him again in an even lower voice.

“You don’t have to be so careful. Just relax and talk in your normal tone.”

Through his observation, Crowe knew what Sandra was worried about. Sandra had been keeping her voice very low. She must have been on her guard all the time during her time in this dormitory. If the circumstances hadn’t changed, Sandra would still have to keep her voice low. Or else, she would risk herself becoming the victim of those ravenous zombies.

Things were different now though, now that Crowe is here. Besides, he had cleaned up all the zombies on the third floor, leaving not a single zombie alive. Sandra didn’t need to be so worried anymore.

“Because I’ve taken out all the zombies on this floor.” Crowe calmly told her.

“All?” Sandra’s beautiful eyes had widened but she didn’t lose her beauty. Instead, she might’ve even looked cuter in a way.

“Are you saying that you killed all the zombies here on your own?” Sandra felt that she might’ve misheard. What was he saying? Was he trying to say that he killed all the zombies on the third floor? Sandra admitted that the man in front of her only looked about her age. He was tall and looked fit. Judging from his appearance and his physique, perhaps he played sports.

If one decided to deal with one single zombie, it would be possible using iron bars or other available tools. But Sandra was on the third floor, how could anyone possibly clear out all the zombies starting from the first floor? There had to be more than one zombie on the third floor too, but Crowe said that he had already killed all of them. Sandra found it hard to believe.

“How could you even possibly do that, that just sounds impossible” Sandra shrugged in disbelief.

“I don’t think it’s an appropriate time for a joke. I don’t see the need to make fun of you or lie to you.” Crowe replied.

“So the reason why the zombies didn’t push through that door is not that we’re lucky but because you’ve killed them all?” Sandra asked.

“If you don’t trust me, just open the door so you can take a look. There were five zombies in the corridor on both sides.” Crowe answered.

Sandra saw that Crowe’s expressions were serious and confident. He didn’t seem to be faking or lying at all. In addition, during the past month, Sandra and Eileen had gotten a rough idea of the number of zombies in the corridor through the noises they heard every day. There were indeed five of them.

She was the one who watched Crowe enter the dormitory building. He couldn’t have known the number of zombies on the third floor beforehand. In other words, she could see that Crowe’s words were very believable and reasonable.

Suddenly, Sandra noticed that there were blotchy bloodstains on the black and white sportswear that Crowe was wearing and it hadn’t even dried up yet. It was obviously being splashed onto his clothes recently. This proved as evidence to Sandra that Crowe really did kill all the zombies in the corridor.

“So If I open the door, there shouldn’t be any more zombies, right?” Sandra retorted.

After she hesitated for a moment, Sandra looked at Crowe, who stood there with crossed arms and looked completely relaxed. She had almost completely believed what Crowe had said to her. However, she couldn’t help but feel uncertain. After all, the zombies wandering outside the door had almost broken her spirits for the past few months.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that she was deeply traumatized by the virus outbreak and the zombie attacks. Even if she had already believed what Crowe told her, she still felt the need to be assured by him again.

“Before I arrived here, I checked the entire floor. I killed all the zombies I found. None of them escaped.” Crowe assured her.

“If you open the door now I can guarantee there’ll be no zombies jumping in or attacking you.” Crowe waved his hand to assure Sandra once again.

“Phew..”. Sandra sighed.

As she heard Crowe’s voice, Sandra took a few deep breaths to calm her nerves and her anxiety down. She held the lock with one hand and the door handle in the other. Her hands moved almost at the same time as she quickly opened the door.

Then, Sandra took a step out of the door, her eyes still filled with fear and doubts. What she saw was several zombie bodies piled on top of each other. Some of them had lost their limbs, and some of them had their heads separated from their bodies. Regardless of their conditions, they were all dead, without any movement. They didn’t even show signs of life even in her presence. With shock and disbelief that filled Sandra’s heart, the sight made her mind completely blank for a few seconds.

After two seconds, she turned her head to the other side stiffly. What she saw were two zombie corpses scattered several meters away. They were no different from what she saw a second ago. Their bodies were more or less mutilated, it was as if they had been carved up by a sharp blade.

“How is it? Seeing is believing. This should calm you down, right?” Crowe said.

His voice came from behind her, causing her to be in a daze. Sandra, who felt like she was dreaming, slowly returned to her senses. She turned around and looked at Crowe again as if his presence was her only glimpse of hope and happiness in her life.

“You don’t need to look at me like I’m some kind of hero. Apart from their ugly faces and rotten smells, there’s not much they can do. They’re not that strong.” Crowe said to Sandra nonchalantly.

Sandra had been witnessing the whole zombie apocalypse for months, it was clear why she would find it hard to believe that zombies weren’t threatening. If zombies were really that weak as Crowe told her, Bastille University wouldn’t have been abandoned by the army and the government. She and Eileen wouldn’t have been trapped in their dormitory, living in fear. They were too afraid to even open their dorm room door.

However, Sandra could see that the young man in front of her was strong, it wouldn’t be impossible for him to kill zombies at all. From Crowe’s relaxed and composed posture, he also seems to be impervious to all the zombie threats that everyone was afraid of.

“Speaking of which, there are other survivors in this dormitory, right?” Crowe no longer cared about Sandra’s concern and walked out blatantly.

“Ah!” Sandra exclaimed.

Just now, Sandra was not aware of the situation, and Crowe made her feel uneasy and restless. In addition to what she had seen and heard about zombies and the virus outbreak almost crippled her reality, and she was confused.

For a moment, she had forgotten about her good friend, Eileen. After Crowe said those words, Sandra’s instinct was to hurriedly follow him..
