Chapter 32 - Guild - Ars Goetia -The Boy Called Incompetent Uses 72 Demons to Become unstoppable-

"So, what exactly are we going to do to help people?"

It was the day after I summoned Focalor.

After summoning Focalor, it was already late, so I had to let her leave and then summon her again the next morning.

"Hmm, let's go to downtown first."

So the three of us, me, Focalor, and Orobas, decided to take a carriage to the downtown area.

By the way, school is not in session today, so we could act freely from this morning.

"I've never been to downtown before," said Orobas in the carriage.

"Yeah, I usually don't leave the noble quarter."

Here in the magic city-state of Dytel, there is a division between mages and non-mages.

The corner where the sorcerer lives is a noble district.

The place where the rest of us live is called downtown.

My house is located on the outskirts of the noble district.

Since the magic school is located in the noble district, I rarely leave the noble district unless I have something special to do.

"So, what are we going to do in downtown?"

"Well, that's something we'll have to wait and see, I guess."

So the carriage headed for the downtown area.

"This is where we're going."

What I showed them was, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary building.

"What is this place?"

"Well, I guess you'll find out when you get inside."

It's faster to show than to explain.

"And, yes, could you two materialize before you get out of the carriage?"

And so they both materialized.

Orobas went from a horse man to a dandy looking human.

When Focalor materialized, her gargoyle wings were gone.

And we were going inside the building.

"Ugh, it smells like alcohol."

That's what Focalor said the moment we entered.

Indeed, the moment we entered, the smell of alcohol filled my nose.

I looked over to see a bunch of tall men holding mugs of liquor in their hands and making a racket.

It was still noon, but they were making such a racket.

It was the first time I had ever been inside, so I was surprised to see what was going on.

"Hey, kid! This is not the place for a pale kid like you! Now get the hell out of here!"

"I'm a sorcerer."

"What? A sorcerer is a nobleman. I don't like nobles."

"You there! I took that as an insult to my Master! Even if the kind-hearted Master forgives, I will not!"

"What? Are you sure you want to do this?"

Orobas and the man stared at each other.

Then the men in the other seats gathered around, shouting, " A fight has started!"

"Don't go too far, Orobas."

I told him and headed for the counter. At the counter stood a person who looked like a receptionist.

"It's my first time here, and I'd like to register as an adventurer."

"I overheard your conversation earlier. Are you sure you're a sorcerer?"

"Yes, I am."

"And your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, right......."

"She is also a sorceress."

I answered for Focalor, who seemed to be struggling for words.

Perhaps it's better to call her a sorcerer, since she can use magic.

"Who's that guy fighting in the back there?"

"He's, uh, a fighter."

If Orobas had a weapon or something, he'd be a swordsman or a spearman, but since he didn't, I assumed he was a fighter.

"So, what the hell is this place?"

"Look around, don't you get it?"

"No, I don’t get it.”

"It's the Adventurers' Guild."

"The Adventurer's Guild.......?"

"Hmm. I mean, we help people."

"Okay, you're registered."

While we were talking, the receptionist at the counter said so.

"Here is your guild card. We have enough for three people."

"Thank you very much."

Then I received the guild cards for the three of us.

"You'll all be ranked as 'E' at first, but your rank will increase with each achievement."

"Okay, I understand."

Well, since this is the only time I'll be working as an adventurer, I won't be moving up in rank.

The aristocracy of the magic city-state of Dytel, in other words, the sorcerers, are not very interested in the adventurer's guild.

In fact, some of them even consider it barbaric.

Some of the poorest sorcerers sometimes work as adventurers as a way to earn money.

When I went to the guild's bulletin board, I found a variety of requests.

The requests ranged from hunting demons to finding dogs.

Yes, the reason I came to the Adventurers' Guild was to help people by accepting requests.

And when it comes to a request that meets that goal...

"There it is."

I said, and took a request form.

There it was.

『Cargo protection』

Suddenly, I looked over and saw that the men who wanted to fight and Orobas were drinking together.

What is this guy doing while I'm not looking?

"Come on, let's go, Orobas."

"Ha, my master! I'm ready, sir!"

Orobas smells like alcohol as he says this.

Is this guy really okay?

However, I'm going to take him with me.
