As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 147 - Woke Up Early To Be Here With You

It would be a waste if they just straightforwardly climbed down the hill right after reaching the peak. Thus, the couple walked on the flat terrain, away from the edges while they were enjoying the view.

The hikers around them were having fun in their own ways. Echoes of merriment came from the peak of the hills as the hikers were enthusiastically marking their achievements this morning.

After some time, Kazuya pulled Himari with him to sit on an elevated ground. He handed her a wet tissue to wipe her hands before he brought out a plastic container from his backpack.

"Sandwiches? Did you make these?" Himari asked once Kazuya unclipped the lid of the container.

Kazuya smiled easily, "Just some egg ones. We have to cushion our stomachs first. I'll bring you to my favorite breakfast bar later."

"Hehe, okay~"

Himari happily accepted a sandwich. Her face was beaming once she took a bite. With a thumb raised up, she said, "It's good."

The milk bread slices were soft and pillowy as they sandwiched the creamy filling of mashed boiled eggs with mayonnaise and black pepper. Himari could taste a little bit of sugar as well.

This was how she liked her sandwich, with a hint of sweetness.

"It's just a simple sandwich."

Even though he said that but, Kazuya was still delighted to see her enjoying the sandwich. It was worth it to busy away in the kitchen at one o'clock just to make them.

After finishing the sandwiches, the couple took photos together to commemorate their time there. With the orange-painted sky as the backdrop, the photos exuded surreal and ethereal feelings.

"These photos look great! I bet Nanako would be jealous once she sees them," Himari snickered.

Kazuya shot her a helpless look. He sent all of the photos to Himari's LINE chat.??

"I want to upload this one. What do you think?" He showed a photo to her.

Himari tilted her head down, staring at the photo displayed on the screen. After some time, she nodded.

"Okay. I don't look so messy in the photo. You can upload it," answered her after making a judgment.

Kazuya laughed as he heard her words. He tapped a few words, tagged Himari's username on the photo and uploaded it to his LINE Timeline.

Inside the photo, both of them were smiling at the camera lens with the backdrop of the golden dawn behind them. The sparkling gold color gradually faded to the top before the milky blue sky was revealed.

[Kazuya: Woke up early to be here with you]

He didn't put any flowery words but Himari was already giddy when she saw the post.

Although both of them didn't conceal their relationship, they also didn't actively publicize to other people that they were together.

If people knew, it was fine. If not, so be it.

Their chat accounts were only known to their close friends so, only a few people could see the photos they uploaded. Both of them also didn't have any other social media accounts thus, the photos were only shared within their inner circles.??

"The ground is slippery. Be careful."

"Okay~ Don't nag at me ah."

The couple reached the bottom of the hill at a quarter to six o'clock. The sky had been completely brightened at this time. As promised, Kazuya brought Himari to the breakfast bar that he had mentioned. The place was just twenty minutes away from the hill.

"Aren't you sleepy?" Himari made a remark as Kazuya started to slow down the car, "I can drive us back home if you want."

"Ah, I've forgotten that you actually have a driving license," Kazuya gave her a playful look, "But, it seems like you do not drive often. Do you want to drive me into the bushes?"

Himari made a face, "Cough, I could still drive decently."

Kazuya laughed. He patted Himari's head a few times with a broad smile on his face, "Hehe, let's eat first. Even though we have eaten the sandwiches, I'm still starving."

"En, en, okay."

The breakfast bar said by Kazuya was an old shop that stood alone at the roadside. Even though it appeared quite worn-down from the outside, the shop still gave off a friendly and clean vibe.

"Welcome!" An old grandma welcomed them as they entered the shop. Her face brightened in an instant, "Ah! It's you, Kazuya! Come in! Come in!"

"I'm here, Granny Ume," Kazuya grinned.

The old woman called Granny Ume by Kazuya trotted across the shop to come closer to them. She cast an interesting look at Himari.

"Ah, who do we have here?" Granny Ume smiled as she looked at Himari and Kazuya left and right, "Aye, boy, introduce us now."

"My girlfriend," Kazuya placed one hand over Himari's shoulders.

Himari blushed. She smiled and gave a deep bow to the grandma, "Hello. My name is Kato Himari. Nice to meet you, madam."

"Aiya, just call me granny like this brat does," Granny Ume was pleased to receive a respectful greeting from the young lady, "This boy hasn't come here often lately. I didn't expect he would bring his girlfriend here now."

Granny Ume showed them to a table next to the windows. Kazuya made an order for both of them as Himari just left it to him. The old grandma moved to the kitchen and energetically shouted to the person inside.

"I found this place when I was in high school," Kazuya said as only the two of them sat at the dining area, "Since then, I always come here whenever I could."

"Did you come here alone?" Himari asked, "This place is still quite far from the city center. Ah, did you live around here before?"

If he frequented this place from his high school days, it should already be more than a decade. Himari suddenly couldn't picture how this man was during those days.??

When she thought of the tattoo that she saw the other day, Himari quietly mused if this man actually dressed in the way the school forbade.

Wait! Was she currently dating a former school tyrant???

"I owned a bike during high school," Kazuya reached out for a glass on the table and poured water from a jug. He put the glass in front of Himari, "Whenever I was stressed, I'd go for a ride. That was when I first stumbled upon this shop."

Himari narrowed her eyes. She honestly asked, "Tell me, did you dye your hair and wear piercings at that time?"

Kazuya almost choked. He stared at her with widened eyes, "Hey! Did you imagine something in your mind?"

"Hehe," Himari covered her face, only showing her eyes glinting mischievously to him, "Just imagine some ah. A young you with red-dyed hair, a leather jacket on your back getting off of a handsome motorbike~"

"Cough..." Kazuya darted his eyes away, "Have you secretly seen my high school photos?"

"What? No way? My guesses are true?" Himari gasped.

Kazuya quickly defended himself, "I didn't dye my hair red. Do you think I'm a rooster? I just dyed it deep brown. Not too obvious, okay?"

"Well, yeah. But, it seemed like you were really a rebellious student in high school oh."

While the couple bickered at the table, Granny Ume came out of the kitchen with an old man. They brought the breakfast meal to where the couple sat.

"Kazuya!"

Kazuya abruptly looked up. He laughed then stood up, "Grandpa Jiro! How have you been? As healthy as always?"

"Aiya, my waists tend to hurt nowadays," The old man laughed along. He openly looked at Himari and smiled, "I heard from you granny that this is your girlfriend?"

Himari quickly stood up and gave a bow to the old man, "Hello. My name is Kato Himari."

"Hahaha! Looking so good ah you two," Grandpa Jiro laughed out loud, "No wonder your granny here is so excited."

"Hey! Don't frighten the children ah! Tone down your voice a bit!" Granny Ume nagged from one side.

While they were talking, a few customers entered the bar, requiring the old couple's attention. It was time for the shop to be busy. The customers sat at the bar area and made their orders.

"Enjoy your meal," Granny Ume said kindly, "I hope you'd like the meal, Miss Kato."

"Thank you for the meal, Granny," Himari smiled.

The breakfast set ordered by Kazuya was the usual menu people had for breakfast. There was nothing extraordinary about the meal but, Himari loved how delicious and clean the meal tasted. It made her stomach craved for more.

"Grandpa Jiro is a good cook," Himari took a sip of the miso soup after swallowing a bite of rice. She looked around the shop, "I can see that the customers there are regulars here."

While the customers sitting at the bar area waited for their food, they had a pleasant chat with Granny Ume. The old lady was also glad to enjoy their company as she served them hot drinks.

"The couple started this shop since they were young. Even after their children could provide them with a good living, they still continue operating this shop," replied Kazuya who was pleased to see Himari enjoying her time here.

Himari retracted her gaze from the bar before her eyes fell on the man sitting opposite her. Her eyes curved as she smiled, "Hehe, I didn't expect you to bring me here, to a place you used to come since before."

Kazuya answered gently, "From now on, I'd tell you more about me."

"I'll look forward to it," Himari grinned. Then, she added with a playful smile hanging on her lips, "But, I also want to see the photos from your high school days. Dyed hair, silver piercings, sharp gaze, untidy school uniform..."

"Cough! It's all in the past!" Kazuya grabbed a glass and downed all of the water. He glared at Himari, "Are you purposely trying to dig my embarrassing past?"

"En, I have to know if I'm actually dating a former bad boy," replied Himari smugly.

"Heh, cheeky," Kazuya broke into laughter. His whole countenance turned soft and relaxing.
