As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me
Chapter 302 - This Was His Love Letter To Her
A warm ray of sunlight slipped in between the curtains blocking the windows, gently falling on the figure lying on the bed. The blanket covered her entire body, only showing the top of her head.
Himari had been awake for a few minutes already yet she didn't dare to move too much.
As much as she was embarrassed when she recalled what happened last night, the soreness of her body also made her reluctant to leave the bed.
Kazuya kept tossing her around until late at night as if he was eagerly collecting the overdue debt from her.
Himari didn't really remember when did she fall asleep. She did recall the time when he helped her to bathe before bringing her back to bed. The bedsheet also had been changed to a new one by him last night.
Himari squirmed under the blanket, toes wriggling in shame.
The sneaky man wasn't on the bed with her when Himari woke up earlier. The time had struck to half-past nine o'clock in the morning.
"...I'm hungry," Himari grumbled.
She forced herself to sit up. The blanket fell from her body, pooling around her waist.??
The white lace nightgown was nowhere to be seen. Himari was now wearing another nightgown, a cotton sleeveless one.
The sight of dubious marks trailed on her skin made Himari blush again. She was certain she had some on her neck as well.
Ugh...
Have to wear a long-sleeved shirt if she wanted to go out today.
Also, have to tie a scarf around her neck.
Himari stepped on the rose petals that were still scattered on the floor. Fortunately, it was still bearable for her to walk.
Inside the brightly lit washroom, Himari finally saw clearly the marks left by her sneaky newlywedded husband last night.
"It's nothing... It's nothing... We're married anyway," She patted her blushing cheeks.
Footsteps echoed inside the bedroom when Himari had just finished wiping her face.
"Sweetheart, you've woken up!"
A happy sounded and refreshed-looking Kazuya entered the washroom. He was still in his dark gray striped pajamas. He scooped Himari in his arms, startling her.??
"Are you hungry? How do you feel? Is it... still hurting?"
Eyes peering into Himari's expression, Kazuya gently rubbed her waist.
Himari slightly pouted. She answered bluntly with cheeks pinkened, "My arms and legs are sore."
She had to raise awareness to this man ah. He shouldn't bully her too much.
"Hehe, I'll help you massage them later," Kazuya dropped a light kiss on her lips, "I've prepared breakfast. Shall we go now?"
Himari nodded. She opened up her arms, indicating she wanted to be carried.
Kazuya laughed happily as he placed one hand behind her knees while the other at her back. Himari quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I thought you'd still be shy with me," Kazuya poked fun at her.
Himari narrowed her eyes, "And give you more chances to tease me? Never."
Kazuya's laughter filled the room. He brought her to the dining table next to the floor-to-ceiling windows. A variety of dishes waited for them there.
Besides the common traditional breakfast dishes, Kazuya also prepared small-sized pancakes topped with slices of strawberries, butter and maple syrup.
What amused Himari was the shape of the pancakes; they were all in heart shapes.
"Oh, my dear husband has worked hard making breakfast today," Himari pecked on Kazuya's right cheek, "Thank you, hubby~"
Kazuya felt as if his heart melted like the butter on the warm pancakes.??
"Anything for my lovely wife," Kazuya returned the peck but instead on Himari's cheek, his lips brushed hers.
They sat opposite each other, smiling and chatting. Bright sunlight poured inside through the glass wall, basking them under its warmth.
"Is there any call from home?" asked Himari after swallowing down the chicken karaage.
"Everything's fine," Kazuya put more rolled omelet inside Himari's rice bowl, "It seems like Chiharu and Izumi have cozied up to their new grandmother."
Himari laughed hearing that.
Her mother had always been good with children. Without a doubt, they enjoyed her company when both of them weren't at the villa.
Neither of them mentioned Madam Tokioka.
Himari understood that Kazuya needed more time to accept his mother thus, she would just silently support him.
After breakfast, Himari washed the dishes. She pushed Kazuya out of the kitchen when he wanted to help her.
"Where do you wanna go today? Do what?"
Because they got married in a rush, Kazuya and Himari decided to postpone their honeymoon. They would just spend their time together today before Kazuya had to go back to work the next week.
Her husband had been away for too long.
First, he flew abroad for a business trip, then he went to meet her mother in her hometown, then he took a few days more of leave to bring her to go camping and get married.
"Let's stroll at the park below later?" Himari gave a suggestion.
The newlyweds cuddled at the long couch, their warm breath fanning each other.
"Just that?" Kazuya raised his brows. He was busy playing with his wife's long hair, "We should do something more memorable ah. Or, do you just want to keep me in bed?"
Himari glared at the man as Kazuya burst into laughter at his own joke.
"I don't know what I wanna do," admitted Himari with a sigh.
She was not someone who had an adventurous mind. The only things she could think of were; having a romantic picnic, watching the sunrise or sunset, taking a stroll in the park, going window shopping and else.
Kazuya smiled helplessly with a look of pampering in his eyes.
"Then, should we do this?"
Himari blinked, "Do what?"
A mysterious yet playful smile hung on Kazuya's lips, "You'll see it later."
Soon, Himari got the answer.
After a simple lunch, the husband and wife went downstairs to the park that was surrounding the high-rise residential complex. There were not many people there at this hour.??
Himari was dressed in a chiffon summer dress in lilac color. Kazuya gave it to her this noon, saying it was a gift from him.??
"So, I just have to sit here?" asked Himari while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "Without moving?"
"Haha, you can still move a bit," answered Kazuya, head poking out from the canvas, "Sweetheart, I'll start now."
"Okay~"
Kazuya brought along a canvas, a stand as well as the other equipment for him to paint at the park.
He wanted to paint his beloved wife on the white canvas, letting each stroke of the brush convey along with his love to her. The bright colors were to show how dazzlingly bright his days after meeting her were.
This was his love letter to her.
In the years to come, two adorable buns would often ask their father to touch the portrait of their mother yet their request was denied.
They were unsatisfied because they could only look at it from where it was hung.
When the buns protested, they would only be laughed at by their father, saying they couldn't simply touch it with their hands sticky because of candies and chocolates.
In the end, they ran to their mother who was carrying an even smaller bun, seeking justice against their father.
Kazuya didn't paint the portrait as realistically as the subject was but it was enough for people to know it was Himari on the canvas.
From time to time, he would stop and smile at the lady sitting under a tree with a flowerbed behind her.??
"Sweetheart, I love you," said Kazuya suddenly, inciting laughter from Himari.
"I love you too, honey~"
Honey dripped from Kazuya's eyes, lips curling up.??
His dearest wife was ever so beautiful in his eyes.
After a few hours, the husband and wife returned to the apartment. The painting wasn't finished properly yet because Kazuya wanted to inscribe more details later yet the outline was already perfect to him.
They spent the rest of the time before sundown tidying up the apartment; cleaning the floor from the rose petals. The rose flower stand was kept by them, sitting in the living room.
"When should we go and get the rest of your belongings?" asked Kazuya when they finally sat down on the couch, slightly sweating from all the cleaning. Himari sat next to him.
Himari had notified her landlady that she would move out of the apartment to follow her husband. Although the landlady didn't expect to receive the news so suddenly, the middle-aged lady still congratulated her.
"Should we do it next weekend?" Himari pondered, "Ah, I wanna find some wedding candies to distribute to my neighbors too."
Although her little apartment was closer to the school, Himari knew she shouldn't stay there anymore after getting married.??
"It's a good idea," Smiling, Kazuya agreed, "Don't be in a rush. We can start by moving all of your clothes and smaller items first. Once we pack everything, I'll find a lorry service to bring the boxes to the villa."
"Hehe, okay honey~"
Mirth danced in his eyes, Kazuya asked teasingly, "You just thank me like that?"
Himari giggled.. She dropped a peck on his face, making Kazuya laughed.
