That night, Kazuya found that Himari had yet to sleep even when she was the one asking to rest earlier. His wife was leaning against the headboard, eyes staring blankly at the freshly changed bedsheet.??

Both of them would return to the villa tomorrow. As planned by the twins before, Shuichi and Taichi would bring the equipment for them to have nagashi soumen in the afternoon.??

Walking slowly out of the washroom, Kazuya subtly sensed that something was bothering Himari.

Did he bother her too much earlier? He genuinely thought he had restrained himself well this time, unlike last night, cough.

Kazuya dived onto the bed. Both of his arms wrapped around Himari's waist from the back, letting her back touch his chest. He left a shallow kiss on the nape of her neck, smelling the berry-scented body wash that Himari had just used earlier.??

"Sweetheart, why aren't you sleeping?" asked Kazuya softly.??

Himari turned around, smiling faintly at her husband.

"Honey, I think... I have to do something."

Under Kazuya's confused look due to the abrupt words, Himari loosened his arms around her body before she adjusted her position to lay facing her husband. She placed one of her palms on his left collarbone, tracing the faint red mark she left there.??

"What is it, sweetheart? Do you want us to go somewhere else?"

Kazuya caught the naughty hand then gave soft kisses on Himari's knuckles.

Hesitated for a moment, Himari frowned slightly.??

The change of expression didn't escape unnoticed by Kazuya yet he still patiently waited for her to speak.

"I think... I have to meet him again."

Eyelashes flickering, Kazuya quickly caught the meaning behind Himari's words.

Himari bit her lower lip. She got anxious all of a sudden yet she forced the next words out of her mouth.

"I don't know how did Jun get to know the truth but... I think I have to make everything clear to him, at least to give him closure..."

Himari didn't want to keep thinking about her previous lover especially when she was sincerely happy being with Kazuya but, her conscience didn't allow her to ignore Jun.

Although Himari left right after Jun mentioned what his mother did three years ago, she still remembered how haggard and pitiful he looked on that day, so unlike his usual neat and tidy appearance.

At first, Himari wanted to delay this matter but, after careful consideration, she thought that it was better to end this problem as soon as possible. She didn't want this matter to be a thorn in her heart thus might cause an issue in her marriage.??

Seeing how guilty his wife appeared after voicing out her thoughts, Kazuya held back from laughing. He pulled her closer to him.

"Let's go and see him," Kazuya lowered his head and began nibbling with Himari's plump lips, "Although I dislike him because he's your ex, I have to admit that I feel sorry for him as a fellow man. His luck with his mother is worse than mine."

At least, his mother wasn't as vicious as that man's mother.

That loser must felt as if his world broke down the moment he knew the vile things his mother did to his ex-girlfriend.??

He not only lost his lover, but he also lost his child.??

Kazuya couldn't imagine what would he feel if he was in Jun's shoes. Either sorrow, disappointment, rage or everything.??

"Thank you, honey," Himari was so relieved because she actually was afraid if she would hurt her husband's feelings by mentioning her ex. She encircled her arms around his neck, "You're the best ever for me~ Mua!"

A kiss was planted on his cheek.??

"Oh?" Eyes glinted mischievously, one of Kazuya's coarse palms roamed over his wife's soft body, "Do you think I would only accept thanks? You did mention another man's name on my bed. I need another compensation, my sweet wife."

Himari shrank her neck, "No... I've showered twice tonight. Have to save water... ah!"

"We can save water if we wash together. Have you forgotten that Mom wants us to give Chobi a younger sibling soon?" answered Kazuya cheekily.??

Himari lacked any tears to cry. She could only surrender now. It was a futile attempt to escape.

Her husband was a wolf in disguise! Q^Q

While Himari was engulfed in new happiness after getting married to Kazuya, Yuina was still living in the forest with the crew of her husband's new film.

The weather was a bit hot the next morning, prompting Yuina to go and wash her face at the river a few times. She really enjoyed the coolness of the river water that gave her an instant refresh feeling.??

Drip, drip.

Yuina blankly stared at the wet towel in her hand before her eyes fell on her own reflection on the stream.??

The river was so crystal clear as the dazzling sun poured its light into it. She could easily see the tiny pebbles lying between the bigger rocks.??

Yuina didn't expect that time would fly so fast. She had been living together with the filming crew for more than three weeks already. The time for her to go back to the city turned nearer as each day passed.

She could rest for one week before school resumed.??

Although there were inconveniences, those weren't enough to lower Yuina's spirit. She was genuinely happy because she was able to stay close to her husband despite still having to hide their status.

Truthfully speaking, both of them were still working to mend the cracks in their relationship. But, Yuina no longer thought that everything was unbearable.

"...get away!"

"AHHHH!"

BANG!

Yuina froze. She abruptly looked behind her, eyes widened in surprise.

The loud sound came from the filming set. A commotion ensued soon after. People ran here and there, shouting incoherent words.

"What happened?"

Yuina quickly ran to the set. She couldn't stay still after such a sound brought chaos.

Something big must have happened for them to react like that. She also suddenly had an ominous feeling pierce her heart.

The closer she got, the clearer what the people were shouting about.

"First-aid! First-aid! Hurry!"

"Prop team! What the hell happened?"

"Hey! Don't just gather around them! Make way! Make way!"

"First-aid, hurry!"

"...!"

Fear struck Yuina the moment she saw the truth. Her heart lunged to her throat, her entire body froze on the spot.

Two bodies were lying not far from a high platform used to jump. Dust stained their clothes. Both of them were unconscious.??

They were Ryuu and Kiyoshi.??

"Where's first aid?"

"Be careful! Teacher Ishizaki might dislocate his shoulders!"

"Gosh! How could Kiyoshi fall?"

Yuina snapped out of her shock. Eyes darted here and there, she quickly ran to Riku the moment she spotted her.

"Riku! What happened? How did Ryuu..."

Yuina's heart was pounding hard. She wanted to go where Ryuu was but it would only hinder the first-aid team from giving treatment.??

The assistant's face was pale as she stuttered, "Kiyoshi's rope... broke! Brother Ryuu rushed to rescue him!"

What occurred next seemed like a fast-motion film being projected in front of Yuina.

Both Ryuu and Kiyoshi were sent to the nearest hospital. They were carried away by helicopters because going there by four-wheel-drive would be detrimental to the patients. None of them regained consciousness after the fall.

Yuina managed to follow one of the four-wheel drives that would bring Riku and a few other related people to the hospital. They couldn't squeeze inside the helicopters because of the limited space.

Fortunately, although the town hospital couldn't be compared to the city's one, the doctors' and nurses' efficiency was just the same. They worked hard to ensure the stabilization of the patients' condition.??

Riku kept pacing in front of the emergency treatment room. Both Ryuu and Kiyoshi were rushed inside. The assistant was talking to the phone to different people, trying to keep everything in check.

"The prop team is currently investigating the... yes, yes, both of them are unconscious... Make sure to not let anything slip out... Right, we can't afford to... We might have to transfer them to a bigger hospital... yes, it's a matter of privacy."

It was not impossible for anyone to get injuries, moreover when filming such an action-packed film but, the injuries that inflicted Ryuu and Kiyoshi were too serious. Especially the film emperor who threw his entire body to cushion Kiyoshi's fall.

"Riku... Riku... Could I do something to help? Anything?"

Yuina lunged forward to Riku after the latter finished talking on the phone. She had been standing unmoving in front of the emergency treatment room.??

Her questions stemmed from her anxiousness. She didn't want to stay idle without doing anything when Ryuu was in danger.??

Yuina's face was deathly pale. The hands that grasped Riku's sleeves were shaking terribly. She could barely stand.??

Riku placed both hands on Yuina's shoulders, trying to give her comfort. She understood how this incident had terrified this older woman.

No wife could act calm when she herself witnessed how her husband's life almost got taken by the reaper's scythe.
