As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me
Chapter 89 - You Didn't Even Want This, Huh?
Ding dong~
Jun raised up his eyes, looking in the direction of the main entrance. The sound of the bell ringing disrupted his attention on the TV. A documentary had just ended, giving way to the slot for the latest music videos.
Even though he was confused because he didn't expect any visitors, Jun still stood up from the couch. He slowly walked to the entrance before his feet stopped in front of the intercom system.
With a push of the button, the face of the unexpected visitor was displayed on the screen. Jun was slightly surprised.
It was a delivery guy.
Jun frowned.
Even though he was confused, he still opened the door. A young delivery man was standing in front of him. The man gave him a quick bow.
"Are you Mr. Fujihara? I have a delivery for you," The man spoke.
"Yes, it's me but, I don't expect a delivery today," Jun answered swiftly.
"But, you do have one, mister," The delivery guy opened his big bag and brought out a box from inside of it. He showed it to Jun, "Mr. Fujihara Jun, it's really you, right? The receptionist downstairs told me your unit number."
Jun had a bad feeling once he saw the parcel. His eyes fell on the airway bill, seeing his own name and the address of this apartment printed on it. Then, they read the name of the sender.
Kato Himari.
It was her.
It turned out...
She returned the parcel back to him.
Although he felt bitter inside, Jun still accepted the parcel. He quickly signed the acceptance form on the delivery man's tablet and entered his apartment. Before he closed the door, he didn't forget to thank the man.
Jun brought the parcel to the living room. The mournful ballad of the song played on the TV added an unpleasant feeling to his heart. His hands were shaking slightly as he unsealed the parcel.
Inside it, laid a bubble-wrapped box that contained the crystal home set that he bought for her.
"You didn't even want this, huh?" He murmured faintly.
Jun privately commissioned an artist to produce this crystal set for him. In the three years he was abroad, although he was heartbroken with their separation, never did he forget what he had promised her.
With this crystal home set, Jun hoped Himari would open her heart again for him. Even though it was only a small crack, it was already enough for the beginning.
But, she returned this back to him. There was not even a note from her saying anything.
Jun lowered his gaze to the floor, silently thinking of his next step.
Himari and her mother's words from the day he suddenly visited them echoed in his mind. Both of them emphasized that they did not want to have any more relationships with him. The pair's direct refusal was already a heavy blow to him and now, he had to face this rejection next.
From all the memories stored in my heart
I gather up the ones of you, link them together
Jun blinked, he moved his gaze from the box to the TV. The ballad still continued.
Gazing at them projected across the room
I feel you with every burst of pain
He laughed in self-mockery.
The lyrics struck a chord in his heart. It was as if the song was indeed sung for him.
No, he won't give up.
He had to keep on trying.
Until the end.
Jun unwrapped the navy blue box before he carefully took out each crystal miniature block. One by one, he arranged them on the coffee table. After almost half an hour, a complete set of crystal home blocks decorated the wooden table.
Under the sunlight that spilled into the living room, the crystal blocks sparkled, almost bedazzled him.
As if how she had captivated him.
Jun's eyes narrowed sharply. He reached out for his phone and called a number. Soon, the line was connected.
"Hello, is this Uncle Harada? Yes, it's Jun... No, no, I'm want to talk about something else. Can we meet? Just you and me... Okay, thank you, Uncle."
Before Himari returned to the city, Jun wanted to thoroughly end the engagement plan between him and Kikyo. Since his parents wouldn't allow him to pave how he wanted for his life, he had to take the initiative to sever their chains on him.
Jun got up from the couch and switched off the TV. He made his way to his room. The meeting would be held this lunch. He had to get ready now.
The crystal miniature blocks continued to sparkle in the living room.
While Jun was changing his clothes, another person had already walked out of Sakuya Residence. That person was Yuina.
Ever since the day her aunt made trouble, Yuina locked herself up inside her home. When Hiro came to check on her out of concern, she always urged him to go back early lest Aunt Shigeko would run her mouth again.
This morning, Yuina got another call from Ryuu. Her husband was on his way to another country for the fan meet. He called her the moment before he left the hotel room, heading to the airport.
While the sun was already shining here, Ryuu was currently taking a midnight flight at where he was at.
"It would be a waste if you didn't properly enjoy your holidays. Go out, feel the spring breeze. Maybe, you would encounter something that you want to tell me later. My love, didn't you always tell me you enjoy spring the most? Don't ruin your spirit because of someone who is not worthy of your time."
Ryuu was seriously persuading her to take a step out of their home instead of continued to just stay at home without doing anything interesting.
As she was inspired by her husband's persistency, Yuina finally agreed to go out. After breakfast, she tidied their home first before taking a quick shower then dolled herself up. She specially chose a spring dress that Ryuu gifted to her before he left.
The lilac chiffon dress exposed her fair shoulders as the ruffle sleeves were connected from the neckline until her wrists. The three-tiered skirt fell right above her knees, gently twirling around her at each sway of her hips.
Ryuu really knew which dress complimented her perfectly.
Yuina drove her car to the newly opened mall not far from the residential complex. Because it had just been opened, the mall extended countless interesting offers and activities.
"Wow, so many people," Yuina murmured under her breath the moment she got out of the car.
People came flocking to the mall from every direction. Most of them were groups of friends, lovers or families. They were using this opportunity to catch up with each other as it was hard to come across such a week-long holiday.
It was hard to see someone who was alone like her.
Yuina took a time to ponder. With a soft smile, she shook her head. She entered the car back instead of walking inside the mall.
Rather than visiting the mall, it was better if she took her time to be charmed by the beautiful flowers in a park.
In the end, Yuina chose to go to the park of Kaiyo River.
The cherry blossoms had slowly wilted, passing their peak time but there were still many people having picnics at the park. All of them were joyful as they spent their time with their loved ones.
Yuina smiled sadly.
If only Ryuu was here with her.
Yuina walked aimlessly at the park. Her eyes were focused on the people who were riding the boats. The sight of them looking in harmony brought a smile to her face.
She was glad that she followed Ryuu's advice but, it was still painfully lonely when it was just her here.
Yuina brought out her phone from her bag then she snapped a photo of the people riding boats. The photo was sent to her husband.
[Yuina: Could we ride a boat together once you're back?]
It was useless to wait for his immediate reply. Ryuu was still on the flight. It might take him another five hours before he landed.
"...! Ah!"
A careless movement from Yuina cost her phone to fly away from her hand. The slim-looking smartphone fell on the ground with a soft thud.
"How could I be so sloppy?" Yuina scolded herself.
She crouched down, wanting to get her phone back. The moment her hand wanted to touch it, another hand was picking the phone up from the ground.
Startled, Yuina raised up her eyes abruptly.
"Is this yours?"
A man handed her the phone with a smile curved on his lips.
"Yes, it's mine. Thank you..."
Yuina quickly took the phone back. She was anxious because the conversation between her and Ryuu was still displayed on the screen.
Even though no one should know about the recipient of her texts, Yuina still wanted to be careful.
She held the phone tightly in her hands.
The man was still eyeing her with a smile.
