Awake on his bed

It's Sunday morning, Maria and her family are going to church to attend a morning mass. It's been their family tradition. When they arrive at the church her mother told the 6 year old Maria to behave and keep quite during the mass. So, she just sit there and listen to what's the priest is preaching.

When she gets bored, she wander her eyes to look for something that can entertain her. She keeps on finding but her two beautiful eyes landed on a pair of chocolate eyes. Little Maria saw a boy around 7-8 years old that looking at her also. He has a dark hair that covers his forehead and a chubby cheeks that has a dimple on it's left side. How does she know? Simply because that boy smiled and waved at her.

Little Maria felt embarrassed so she looked away and never looked at that boy again.

When the mass was done Little Maria run towards the entrance to go to the park beside the church. This was her favorite time when she goes to the church with her family because she can play at the park after the mass. She quickly scan the surroundings to see her favorite spot but to her dismay its been occupied already.

Little Maria walk abruptly towards that boy who was sitting on the swing. Her favorite swing! She can't see the face of that boy because it faces her with his back.

"Hey! You're stealing my favorite spot!"

The boy heard it and face her. It shocked her because the boy who was stealing her favorite spot is the same boy inside the church who smiled and waved at her!

"I'm sorry. I didn't know that this was your favorite spot."

the boy apologize and stand up from the swing and give way to her so she can sit at it.

Little Maria look at him on the face and thought

'you're apologizing but you seemed happy?' and put her arms on her little chest.

"You're not sincere when you apologize!"

"I am."

"No you're not!"

"Yes I am and why are you shouting?"

"am not!"

"Yes you are."

"I said am not!" she shouted

"see? you're shouting and you're so loud but I still like you."

"You said what?" Little Maria is confused of what she heard. He likes her?! She felt her face burned.

"I said I like you. I want to be friends with you."

'Okay, he likes me as a friend.' Little Maria thought.

"Okay. We can be friends."

"Really?" the boy asked and jump in happiness.

"Really! but I didn't know you."

"I'm Toby."

"I'm Maria"

"Nice to meet you Maria. I'm so happy because we're friends now."

"Me too."

They smile at each other and decided to play. Little Maria sat on the swing and Toby walk behind her and started to push her so the swing can move.
