Azeroth Monster Manual

#102 - 1500-year-old bachelor elf says he is very

Just as everyone was marveling at the Solar King's grand gesture, a well-dressed elderly elf appeared before them.

"Young Master, you've finally arrived."

"Grandpa Barton, long time no see."

"Young Master, you can just call me Barton."

The old elf looked at the young man's face with a kind expression, then removed his white gloves and gave a salute with his hand over his chest.

Eyre playfully pulled the old elf over and introduced him to everyone:

"This is the Sarona family's butler, and also Grandpa's childhood playmate, Grandpa Barton."

"Greetings, Your Highness Prince Kael'thas."

"Greetings, Your Excellency Archmage Rommath."

The old man bowed and gave an elegant salute to Kael'thas and Rommath.

Kael'thas and Rommath didn't dare to be negligent and returned the salute.

A third-rank official before the Prime Minister's gate, plus Eyre's mentor showing such respect to this old butler, the two were happy to give him face.

"Young Master, it's still early. Would you like to tour your territory?"

"Ahem, I mean the Alchemy Workshop."

"My apologies, I misspoke."

...

And so, led by Barton, the group began to tour what would be Eyre's Light's future territory.

"By the way, have any protective measures been taken for the dueling arena? After all, the destruction caused by two Archmages can be terrifying."

"Rest assured, Young Master. Master has already dispatched twelve rotating magisters to the dueling arena. Three days ago, they constructed a protective barrier capable of withstanding the energy of Archmages. With the continuous charging by the magisters, it should be able to withstand your magic and that of Archmage Antonidas."

Barton was over 2700 years old. His snow-white short hair was neatly combed back, and the crow's feet at the corners of his eyes formed deep lines. The nasolabial folds on either side of his nose were also clearly visible, but Eyre knew that this extraordinary butler was also a rare handsome man in his youth.

This elf was very old, but the gentle aura he exuded still inadvertently attracted everyone's attention. This aura neither stole the master's glory nor was it devoid of presence.

Barton's tone carried the accent of Silvermoon City's upper nobility, not affected, but created by the living environment for 2500 years. Having traveled in high society on behalf of Belore for many years, he could clearly understand the master's thoughts.

"Young Master, there is one more thing."

"Grandpa Barton, please speak."

"From now on, I will be responsible for all affairs of the Sarona Alchemy Workshops and Plantations in the Seven Kingdoms. This is my communication stone. If you have any instructions, you no longer need to notify the Silvermoon City headquarters. You can contact me directly."

"But what about Grandpa's side?"

Eyre was delighted. With Barton's assistance, he would no longer waste his valuable time haggling with the Seven Kingdoms and bickering with the Silvermoon nobles.

He could spend more time researching the Monster Compendium, developing new skills, and expanding his organization. Barton's arrival was like sending charcoal in the snow, but he also had deeper concerns.

Barton had always been Belore's right-hand man. Although Belore was the Speaker of Silvermoon, the political ecology of Silvermoon City did not allow him to rest assured. Furthermore, Barton's departure would make Belore's situation even worse.

"Young Master..."

Barton obviously had something to say. He discreetly glanced at Rommath and Kael'thas behind Eyre, hesitating to speak.

"It's okay, they are all our own people."

Eyre turned his head and glanced at Rommath and Kael'thas behind him, saying indifferently.

Barton's subtle movements and Eyre's words were seen by both of them. Kael'thas and Rommath looked at each other, their eyes filled with joy at being trusted.

Kael'thas was fine. From the day Eyre was born, he had become the number one fanboy of this magical young man.

Rommath's journey had been somewhat complicated, from initial disdain to later awe and flattery, and finally to reverence and submission after receiving Eyre's teachings.

Until a few days ago, when he learned that the young man had been promoted to Archmage, these complex emotions were sublimated.

After all, being able to be promoted to Archmage at the age of 16, who knows if this young man will reach that position in the future? That is the realm that all mages dream of!

This is probably Rommath's journey.

...

"Grandpa Barton, speak, they are all our own people."

Eyre urged again.

"Alright, Young Master."

Barton sighed, and his originally weathered face added two more points of sorrow.

"Master... Master has decided to step down from the position of Speaker of Silvermoon in 20 years."

As soon as Barton's voice fell, the originally lively atmosphere gradually quieted down.

"How... How is that possible? Speaker Belore, how could he..."

Rommath said in astonishment. Although as a newly promoted Silvermoon councilor, it was impossible for him not to have fantasies about the position of Speaker, he knew that his background and strength were not enough to allow him to sit in that position.

After contacting the young man, this idea became even weaker. Now he just wanted to follow in the young man's footsteps and embark on a place that no one had seen and no one could reach.

"Are you sure this is Speaker Belore's decision? It's really... It's really too hasty."

Kael'thas stared at Barton suspiciously, incredulous.

"Master said he was tired. The future is the world of you young people. He just wants to see you, Young Master, marry and have children, and hold his long-awaited great-grandson. He also said to let me supervise you. If there are any eligible female elves, they must be stuffed into your room. This is what Master said."

"Ahem, let's go, let's go take a look at the dueling arena."

Eyre broke the awkward silence and took the lead in walking towards the dueling arena.

"Haha, haha, Mentor Eyre is right."

The young bachelor Rommath said with a flushed face.

"That's right, the matter of marriage and childbirth still needs to be discussed in the long term. After all, the fertility of our Quel'dorei is... Forget it, let's not talk about this, haha... haha."

Kael'thas echoed awkwardly.

"By the way, Your Highness Prince Kael'thas, before leaving, His Majesty Anasterian instructed me to bring you a message."

"Elder, please speak."

Barton turned his head to look around, and only after finding that no one was around did he say cautiously.

"His Majesty said that if you still cannot get married within 20 years, you will be prohibited from returning to Quel'Thalas until you have a marriage partner."

Kael'thas: ...

"I don't know which nerve this old guy has touched. I'm only 16 years old, and he's so anxious to hold a great-grandson. You're in such good health, why don't you have a son yourself."

Eyre ran towards the dueling arena with an embarrassed expression, and the two older youths followed closely behind him at the same speed.
