Azeroth Monster Manual

#116 - 20th floor underground

"Mentor, I want to exchange for this Lifebloom Potion!"

Kael'thas stared intently at the potion in Aier's hand, and said impatiently.

"Are you sure? After all, points are not so easy to obtain for you guys."

The light green potion was tossed back and forth in the young man's hand, making the trio look nervous, for fear that Aier would accidentally drop the priceless treasure on the ground.

"I... I'm sure!"

Kael'thas hesitated for a moment before saying firmly. This trip to Zul'Gurub had taught him a sufficient lesson. Although there were many things on the exchange list that attracted him, he still felt that his life was more important.

"Alright, it's yours. There are graduation lines on the bottle. In the case of serious injury and near death, about one-third is enough. For other situations, you can use your own discretion."

The young man smiled slightly at Kael'thas's eager gaze, and casually tossed the potion over.

"That's great!"

Kael'thas hurriedly caught the potion. When he heard Aier say that this Lifebloom Potion could actually be used multiple times, the Archmage was so excited that he almost dropped the potion in his hand on the ground.

"What about you two?"

Aier turned to look at the two apprentices behind him.

Eran and Anselem stared enviously at the potion in Kael'thas's hand, but did not say anything. This mission had allowed them to accumulate a deep friendship, and Kael'thas's efforts and contributions were obvious to both of them.

Therefore, when they heard that Kael'thas wanted to exchange for this potion, the two did not think about competing for it, but felt that it was a matter of course. Kael'thas deserved such praise.

"I don't have anything I want to exchange for at the moment."

Eran reluctantly returned the exchange list in his hand to Aier.

"Mentor, I want to exchange for this Ar'yuo Robe first, is that okay?"

Anselem chose the magic resistance robe newly developed by the Salonar Alchemy Workshop.

"Yes, if you want to exchange for anything in the future, you can go directly to Barton, he will be responsible for all matters related to point exchanges."

...

"Mentor, where are we going?"

Eran followed behind Aier and asked somewhat puzzled. After exiting the demiplane on the 16th floor, the four of them had been walking downwards non-stop for more than 20 floors, but they had not yet reached the bottom, which made the always steady Eran somewhat confused.

"Underground level 20."

Aier was still thinking about the situation in the Hinterlands, and replied absentmindedly.

"Underground level 20!? Then the real height of this mage tower is even higher than the Violet Citadel in Dalaran?"

Anselem gasped and said in astonishment.

"It's just a last resort..."

Aier heard the apprentices' exclamations, and couldn't help but withdraw his thoughts and sighed.

"Mentor, is there anything you are not satisfied with? Although I have never seen the Sun King's Sunstrider's Spire, this mage tower must be one of the best in your kingdom, right?"

Eran stroked the elevator system made of some unknown metal and asked in confusion.

"Do you know why we built 20 floors of mage tower underground?"

"Could it be because of the energy problem?"

Kael'thas carefully put the potion in his hand into his space backpack and asked hesitantly.

"That's right, the most core structure of this mage tower is not actually the summoning system and other superficial things, but the energy conversion system at the bottom of the tower. This system can convert the magma from the ground into energy in the mage tower..."

"Has Silvermoon City's technology developed to such a point? It's incredible..."

Anselem couldn't help but exclaim when he heard that the energy conversion system could actually convert the magma from the ground into the energy needed in the mage tower. As one of the Kirin Tor's councilors, he deeply understood the significance of this energy conversion system.

"Did you research this?"

Eran was more calm, or rather, not very touched. Neras Eran, who came from Stormwind City, was a mage noble to put it nicely, but the mages in Dalaran didn't think so. They thought that the mages in Stormwind City were bumpkins, or even muggles who knew a little magic.

"Well, a few years ago, I accidentally discovered a kind of elemental creature in Eversong Woods. This creature is not actually an elemental creature in the traditional sense, but a deformed arcane creature catalyzed by the Sunwell's rich magic power. I call these creatures Arcane Wraiths.

At first, the core of this creature was used to create the charging template for the Limited Invulnerability Belt, but after subsequent in-depth research, I found that the characteristics of these creatures were far more than that. Their ability to convert magic power inspired me deeply, so this energy conversion system came into being."

Aier talked eloquently, completely unaware of the sluggish expressions of the three apprentices. When he finished his long speech, he couldn't help but feel a little strange, why was the air so quiet?

"Don't worry, this popular science will not deduct your points."

Aier shook his head amusingly, ignored the three of them, and continued to walk down.

"Mentor, mentor, I have another question!"

Eran heard the young man's words, as if he had regained his senses, and trotted two steps to catch up with Aier's pace.

"Can this energy conversion system be exchanged? If it can be exchanged, can I give it to someone else?"

Eran asked anxiously and embarrassedly.

"Well, you've given me a problem."

Aier frowned and said noncommittally.

"Sorry, mentor, I was a little carried away..."

Eran looked dim. He should have thought of it. Such a valuable academic achievement, it was already kind of the mentor to tell him directly, so how could he expect to trade this system to him?

"Is 100 points a bit too much? Is 80 points more appropriate?"

Aier scratched his head and said hesitantly.

"You... what did you say?"

Eran couldn't believe his ears at this time, he must be hallucinating.

"Forget it, let's make it 80 points. Eran, you have brought me new inspiration."

Aier seemed to have thought of something and snapped his fingers excitedly.

"Wh... wh... what did you say?"

Eran was still immersed in ecstasy at this time and didn't hear what Aier said.

"In the future, if you three want to publish your academic achievements, just submit them to me.

If they really have a certain significance and practical use, I will give you corresponding points. Of course, if you agree, these academic achievements can also be purchased by other apprentices with points."

Anselem: I'll give my magic notes to the mentor later and kill them!

Kael'thas: I'll give my exclusive secret technique to the mentor later and kill them!

Eran: Hehe... energy conversion system... hehe... 80 points... hehe...

...

The group did not take the 'elevator' in the mage tower, but walked down to the 20th floor underground. This was also requested by the apprentices, with the purpose of better familiarizing themselves with the mage tower.

"Let's meet our old friend, I hope he is enjoying his stay here."

Aier pushed open a heavy metal door emitting a scorching heat and said to the three of them.
