Breaking up, No Joke
Chapter 200
200. Extra Chapter 10 The Little Fatty
Translator: LenaThe young man leaves immediately. Silence shrouds the kitchen, while Bo Yu stares at the noodles before him in a daze. A wry smile jumps onto his lips. He then pours all the noodles onto scrambled eggs with tomatoes.
“You hate to disclose our relationship.”
He shouts eagerly and desperately, holding the chopsticks. The man then lowers his head to feed himself with steaming noodles.
The cameras record every second after Bo Yu’s young lover left the kitchen. On the screens, Bo Yu eats up all the food.
Although he chews the hot noodles, his eyes and nose are red. It seems that he is aggrieved.
Words fail Shan Yangxun who watches that. He realizes that he can’t read Bo Yu out of the blue. The latter has swallowed down three bowls of noodles, but remains patient. Shan Yangxun suddenly understands why Bo Yu becomes popular and why senior performers said Bo Yu would be acclaimed for the rest of his life when they referred to him.
With gorgeous face and sophisticated acting skills, Bo Yu is friendly, humble and emotionally intelligent. Such a person is in his element when he works in the entertainment industry.
The director is overjoyed at Bo Yu’s third try.
He steps forward to pat Bo Yu’s shoulder, “Well done! Do you need to make yourself throw up?”
Bo Yu shakes his head feebly, “I want some fresh air. When to start my next scene?”
“You’ve gotten two scenes left today. Take a break. I’ll call you half an hour later.” Zeng Xun doesn’t have time for chitchat, so he says directly.
Bo Yu’s stomach is aching because he gulped down too much food. He strolls around outside the filming site and comes across some fans who have wait here for a long time. The actor then gives out his autographs and takes photos with these girls who come to see him from afar.
One of them jumps up pleasantly, “Mr. Bo, I have been watching your shows since I was a child. Your plays are excellent. I really like you. You’re gorgeous!”
Bo Yu says goodbye to them with a smile. As he heads to the filming site, he touches his face and murmurs, “I don’t look old, right?”
Zhou prepares some fruits for Bo Yu.
Time flies as they start shooting. Three days has passed. Bo Yu takes a morning off in the fourth day. He isn’t present at the filming site, but wears a plain suit and attends Little Watermelon’s PTA meeting.
However, he runs into the little fatty’s father, Qiu Feng, in the school parking lot.
Qiu Feng is astonished when he saws Bo Yu, “I thought Little Watermelon’s grandparents would come here today.”
Bo Yu gazes at Qiu Feng. As the two enter the same classroom, Bo Yu gathers his wits together, “Jesus! They’re classmates!”
Qiu Feng is speechless.
‘I should consider to terminate his contract…’
“How’s your work recently?” Qiu Feng and Bo Yu sit on their sons’ chairs respectively. It’s a coincidence that the two boys are deskmates.
“Just fine. I don’t have a choice.” Bo Yu is modest. A few leaders detest Bo Yu because of homophobia, but that doesn’t mean Bo Yu can’t stay in the industry. He’s still a popular actor.
Qiu Feng takes Bo Yu’s words as a joke, “I received my son’s transcript several days ago. He ranked the second, while your son won the first prize.”
Little Watermelon is agile for he inherits Song Shilin’s wits. Besides, Song Shilin tutors the boy when the child does his assignments. Therefore, the kid will definitely reap fruits in his study.
“He was furious after going back from the boy’s school. Now, he go to school delightedly every day.” Qiu Feng is glad to see his son lose some weights. He isn’t homophobic, but he will be upset if his only heir becomes gay.
No one in the Qiu family is a homosexual.
Bo Yu was well-informed when the little fatty insisted on studying in a boy’s school, because the boy tried to persuade Little Watermelon to go there. However, the chubby kid dropped out of the boy’s school for some inexplicable reasons.
The middle-aged head teacher steps in with a long face. She summarizes students’ study and behaviors in the school, and praises some well-behaved children in details. What’s more, the woman warns a few parents indirectly that she hopes them to spend time checking their kids’ assignments.
“They’re in the second grade, so you might pay less attention to their marks for they’re young. Most parents ignore their children’s study in this period. However, kids are laying the foundations now. If you don’t nurture their learning ability and interests, their foundations will be weak. A house won’t be secure if the foundations are flawed.”
These words are cliché, but the teacher directly points out the fact that students don’t care about their study because of parents’ ignorance.
The audience listen carefully to the woman’s impassioned speech.
The 90-minute meeting is over. Bo Yu walks towards the parking lot with Qiu Feng. The two haven’t seen each other for a long time. Qiu Feng speaks, “Qiu Lingshui said he would follow you to the industry after losing weights. I sent him to the filming site, and he played a role in a show. After he came back, he gave up.”
Bo Yu remembers that, “It seems that he lost ten pounds in the filming site.”
Qiu Feng, biological father of Qiu Lingshui, teases, “His grandparents were heartbroken after he came home. They fed him with tasty food. My son put on 20 pounds. He became even more fat.”
Bo Yu is amused, “Jesus, he is like a balloon.”
“That’s true. He puts on and loses weights quickly.” Qiu Feng doesn’t expect his son can lose weights consciously. He hopes that the boy can stop gaining weights. “He will know what a good shape means when he grows up.”
Bo Yu grins, “Well, do you mean you give up on your son?”
Qiu Feng makes this decision because no one asks him to restrict the boy’s food intake, “Yep. Hey, let’s have lunch together.”
Bo Yu raises his wrist to check the time. He answers, “Okay.” It’s time for meal.
Qiu Feng said some courteous words, because he thought Bo Yu would rush to the filming site and reject him. However, the actor consents, so Qiu Feng leads Bo Yu to a nearby restaurant which is owned by the Qiu Group.
As the two adults sit down, a sound rises at the door. A little fatty pushes open the door. He is taller than before. The boy dashes cheerfully, “Bo Yu, you’re here!”
Qiu Feng nearly chokes on tea in his mouth, “Be polite, son. He’s Mr. Bo.”
Bo Yu waves, “It’s okay.”
The kid feels wronged. Sitting next to Bo Yu, he peers at the man sheepishly, “Bo Yu, do you really star a TV show now?”
Qiu Feng thought his son had gotten over Bo Yu in the past two years for Bo Yu didn’t show up. It turns out that the boy still keeps an eye on the actor. The father speaks helplessly, “I thought you were no longer his fan.”
“Don’t underestimate me. I’ll be his fan for my life.” The kid feels disgruntled at his father’s suspicion, but his eyes sparkle as he turns to Bo Yu, “Is it a TV play?”
Bo Yu nods. It’s hard to explain, but he pretends to be composed, “It’s about homosexual. The script is excellent. Remember to advertise it after it is on the air.”
The little fella promises without any hesitation, “Yeah, sure thing.”
“But people blame you recently. Why do you challenge a homosexual script? Aren’t you afraid of being forced out?” Before Qiu Feng could say anything, Qiu Lingshui asks worriedly. Bo Yu can tell the boy’s upset from his chubby face.
After Qiu Feng orders some food, he gives the ipad to Bo Yu and skips his son, “Mr. Song won’t allow others to do so.”
Hearing Song Shilin’s name, the boy quivers subconsciously as the solemn face appears in his mind, “He can’t engage in the industry, although the Song Group is powerful.”
“It seems that you’re clear about affairs occurring in the industry.” Qiu Feng is speechless.
Bo Yu casually orders some favorite dishes, and passes the ipad to the kid who is waiting for that. The man speaks, “The script is invested by my old firm. Tingfeng Company doesn’t have outstanding stars in these two years. Besides, Ran Fei got in trouble.”
“Well, it turns out that the investor is Tingfeng Company. I think they will manipulate the public opinions after the play is released.” Qiu Feng responds pertinently.
Bo Yu shrugs, “Even if they take actions, they can’t make much difference. Whether this show will be successful or not depends on the audience.”
Compared with Qiu Feng’s answer, Bo Yu’s words hit the point.
Qiu Feng is dumbfounded. He later asks, “Have you thought it over before you take this job?”
“I wanna know whether I can make this play become popular as Dead End.” Bo Yu beams, “After all, life will become more interesting when you face challenges.”
Qiu Feng proposes a toast. He admires Bo Yu’s courage, “Best wishes to you.”
Bo Yu lifts his glass and takes a sip.
