Colonial Suit

#1029 - The 'value' of terror

“Prove my worth?”

Lilith narrowed her eyes, a beautiful smile gracing her lips.

But soon, she would show Napolito that proving one's worth also came at a price.

In the void, the massive Star Nest began to disintegrate. Large chunks of biological tissue broke away from the main body, then devoured and destroyed themselves in a tumbling frenzy, eventually turning into pools of crimson blood. The Star Nest’s body began to writhe and deform at high speed, its massive functional areas shifting, reorganizing, and its internal pipelines being rearranged. From the outside, the Star Nest, which had condensed all of Napolito's efforts, suddenly shrank by more than half, causing Napolito's heart to ache.

But such a huge price meant the Star Nest was evolving.

The endless blood plasma was reabsorbed, and the Star Nest's life concentration instantly rose to a critical point. A large amount of biological tissue died suddenly, and new biological tissue was born from the corpses. Like plants, they took root in the decaying flesh, frantically absorbing all nutrients. New blood vessels, tendons, and bones formed new functional areas. The weapon systems were also replaced. From a microscopic perspective, the Star Nest was no longer the Star Nest of the past, but a newly born biological collective. The genetic chains of all cells had undergone earth-shattering changes, and their aggressiveness and regenerative abilities had risen to an astonishing level.

When everything was over, Napolito stared at the data on the light screen in disbelief, as if looking up at a miracle.

In the void, the Star Nest's appearance had changed. It was no longer an irregular sphere as large as dozens of stars, but a hollow prism. Eight seemingly independent but closely connected parts were combined together, with a huge cavity in the middle. An active biological tissue only a few kilometers in diameter floated in the center of the cavity, constantly writhing and deforming, interacting with the surrounding independent tissues with tremendous energy every minute and every second. The massive bioelectrical phenomena even distorted space, 'isolating' the cavity from the universe.

“Natural form,” Lilith said softly, her tone filled with pride. “In this form, my energy pool will achieve maximum activity, and energy regeneration and circulation efficiency will increase by seventy-three percentage points, greatly enhancing the Star Nest's self-healing ability. Theoretically, as long as I am not destroyed, any damage can be repaired within an hour.”

As Lilith spoke, the Star Nest deformed and reorganized again, the eight independent tissues closing and solidifying at a high speed, instantly sealing all passages, turning into a seemingly solid 'pyramid' with a surface as smooth as a mirror but harder than diamond.

“Defensive form. It has a bone armor layer and buffer tissue that are thousands of meters thick, and generates void particles on the surface, which can shield against all known energy interference and defend against all types of attacks. Theoretically, as long as the energy permits, it can exist forever, including in wars within the third layer of anti-space.”

“The third layer of anti-space?” Napolito's breathing suddenly became heavy. He certainly knew what that meant – the Abyss Gate!

From the perspective of a cosmic warrior, the third layer of anti-space was a black hole-level domain, but don't forget that the third layer of anti-space also had a special meaning, that is, it was only a line away from absolute 'nothingness'. Further down was the legendary Abyss. Being able to fight in the third layer of anti-space meant that the current Star Nest had reached or even surpassed the black hole level.

But who could say for sure that such a Star Nest could not sink into 'nothingness'?

As if knowing Napolito's thoughts, a hint of triumph flashed in Lilith's eyes. She continued.

“The biggest advantage of this state is its closure, absolute closure. When all passages are closed, the Star Nest will form a self-circulating world. All energy flows within it, without any leakage.”

Closed, circulating, no leakage?

These three descriptions completely shattered Napolito. What was this? This was a pass to enter nothingness… Everyone knew that the terror of the nothingness barrier lay in the fact that it had nothing and absorbed everything. No matter how powerful a warrior or how surging the energy, entering nothingness would only have one result: to disappear like a drop of water into the desert.

But Lilith's description gave Napolito a glimmer of hope. If the Star Nest could achieve self-circulation and complete closure, then why couldn't it navigate in nothingness? Why couldn't it covet the mysteries of the Abyss?

Its worth was confirmed at this moment. Napolito suddenly felt that if Lilith's description was true, then even if the Star Nest had no other functions, it would be enough for him to pay everything, even if half the universe's life was devoured!

As long as it was like this, as long as it was like this…

But Lilith seemed not satisfied, her eyes filled with triumph, disdain, and condescending arrogance, as she continued.

“Next, is what you want to see… its worth.”

The void trembled violently, and the Star Nest transformed again, but this time it seemed the entire world moved because of it. In the horrified gazes of everyone, the eight independent entities instantly opened, spreading out like petals, with the huge biological energy pool at the core. The massive bioelectrical discharge cleaved and compressed space again and again. The void in front of the 'petals' suddenly collapsed, twisted, deformed, and endlessly condensed.

Napolito's pupils suddenly shrank, and he exclaimed in disbelief.

“That… that is…”

“Its worth…” Lilith replied with a smile, then snapped her jade-like fingers.

With a loud bang, the void in front of the 'petals' shattered. The terrifying energy gathering broke the Sasa Clan's control over the rules of the ninth dimension, even tearing apart the spatial partitions. The energy storm continued downward, penetrating the sub-space and the first and second layers of anti-space in a fraction of a second…

A huge black hole was created out of thin air, instantly absorbing all light, energy, and matter…

The ninth dimension trembled violently, as if groaning under unbearable weight. A large number of golden lines were materialized, and then pulled and torn apart in the first instance.

Lilith had actually forcibly pulled out the rules of the ninth dimension?

Located at the core of the Star Nest, Napolito felt that all of this was like a dream, a nightmare. Time was as long as a century, and as short as an instant. He felt the vibration under his feet and witnessed the disaster of the ninth dimension, from the initial giant black hole to the later fragmentation of rules, and then, the entire ninth dimension appeared to be cracked and destroyed…

Extreme darkness enveloped everyone. When the light reappeared, Napolito found that they had arrived in a familiar void, the void of the Second World.

Behind them, the former ninth dimension had turned into a disappearing black light mass.

The ninth dimension…

Annihilated. (To be continued…)
