#189 - Premeditated massacre
In a dense series of cracking sounds, Blood瞳's shoulder armor rapidly opened and closed, causing all the armor plates on his body to do the same. Immediately following this, white gas was emitted from the sides of Blood瞳's mask, under his ribs, and along his spine simultaneously. An invisible force surged from the energy pool in Blood瞳's abdomen, like a landslide or tsunami, traveling along the invisible meridians within his body and reaching his shoulders.
He was now fully standing, facing the entrance of the icehouse.
“What is this doing?”
A sense of horror arose in Blood瞳's mind. This was the first time since he obtained the Bio-Armor that it had acted autonomously. He didn't know what the significance of the Bio-Armor taking this stance was. There were no enemies in this direction, so what was it about to do?
Even as the question lingered in his mind, something terrifying happened.
With a crisp sound, Blood瞳's shoulder armor bloomed open like flower buds. The purple-black crystal in the center emitted a faint white light. Before he could react, two thick beams of purple-black light shot out from his shoulders.
The dazzling beams resembled a sharp sword, tearing through the sky. Everything in their path was silently annihilated. The icehouse's wooden door, the tribe's rooftops, and even a sacrificial altar were all erased by these beams. For a time, the sound of the entire tribe collapsing echoed around.
In the next moment, everything before Blood瞳's eyes disappeared.
Meanwhile, the warriors outside witnessed an even more terrifying sight. Two massive beams, as thick as water buckets, shot straight out of the icehouse. They swept through everything, splitting the entire tribe in two, and finally struck the mountain peaks on the outskirts. Visibly, a large pit was carved into the mountain facing the tribe, and the beams pierced through it, erupting on the other side. This ultimately formed a purple-black line that tore through the sky, disappearing into the gray, overcast heavens.
My Lord… is that the Light of Divine Punishment?
All the warriors involuntarily knelt down, their eyes filled with awe. Although they didn't know what had happened inside the icehouse, everyone had seen the Light of Divine Punishment. This stirred a sense of fear in their hearts.
The beams lasted for less than five seconds before rapidly dissipating, turning into countless specks of light scattered in the air. But looking at the blasted-open entrance, no one dared to step forward to investigate.
Inside the icehouse, Blood瞳's shoulder crystals emitted wisps of blue smoke, and then the armor clicked shut. His knees weakened, and he involuntarily knelt on the ground.
“Super-Micro Positron Cannon integrated into control range. Data normal, firing data acquired. Correcting firing trajectory, correcting energy transmission frequency. Given the host's limitations, maximum power adjusted to 30%,” the Core's voice echoed in Blood瞳's mind, but Blood瞳 felt like crying.
At this moment, he couldn't even lift a finger.
He didn't know what a Super-Micro Positron Cannon was, but its consumption was far too great. With just one shot, it not only depleted all of the Bio-Armor's energy blocks but also nearly exhausted his own bio-energy pool, almost causing him to faint.
The energy blocks were one thing, but the bio-energy pool was his own. He could only replenish it by eating. Did he have to go back to the days of being a starving ghost?
“My Lord, what's wrong?” In an anxious voice, Lyle led several elite warriors into the room and helped Blood瞳 up.
“Prepare food for me, lots of it…” Blood瞳 managed to say before passing out.
An hour later, a terrifying glutton appeared in the Cass tribe, single-handedly consuming half of the tribe's winter food supply. By the time he barely managed to put down the remnants of his meal, the entire tribe was silent.
“嗝.” Blood瞳 let out a satisfied burp, a look of contentment on his face.
He was surrounded by warriors, with Elder Hans and Little Cass looking at him with worried expressions, their eyes filled with unease.
“I'm fine. I just used up too much energy,” Blood瞳 said calmly. He saw both of them visibly relieved.
Regardless, he was the god of the Rotuskans. If something happened to him in the Cass tribe, the people of the entire planet probably wouldn't let them off the hook. It was no wonder Elder Hans and Little Cass were so worried.
But they didn't know that, for Blood瞳 at this moment, it was a time of great joy.
He hadn't expected that these two newly acquired units would be such powerful weapons. No, it was more than just powerful; it was terrifying. A Super-Micro Positron Cannon was something only battleships were equipped with, yet it had appeared on a single-soldier weapon. One had to acknowledge the strength of the Crocodilian civilization.
But that wasn't the most important thing. The most important thing was that after accepting these two units, the Bio-Armor finally showed signs of evolution. He could clearly feel the structure of the Bio-Armor changing. The Core's processing power had also undergone a leap forward.
However, Blood瞳 didn't have time to worry about these things right now. He had to complete his deployment as soon as possible to welcome the upcoming 'guests'.
Next, he led people back to the Hans tribe and organized all members to head to the Shattered Bone Grounds.
It had to be said that the efficiency of the Rotuskans was astonishing, especially after receiving the orders of their god. They displayed amazing potential. One by one, warriors set off under the earnest gazes of their wives and elders, traversing mountains and rivers, embarking on long journeys. In less than two days, they had compiled statistics on the number of Blood Nests on the entire planet and presented them to Blood瞳.
According to the statistics, there were still 7,300 Blood Nests remaining on Rotuska, but less than half of them could still secrete bodily fluids and survive. The closest one was less than 100 kilometers west of the Shattered Bone Grounds.
“Very good.” Looking at this information, Blood瞳 nodded with satisfaction. More than 3,000 Blood Nests exceeded his expectations by far. In fact, according to his estimates, he only needed 100 for this battle. Each Blood Nest was actually a defensive entity. If they fired Positron Cannons together, even a fleet wouldn't have anything left. Moreover, according to Robbie's calculations, only about ten of the ships that had entered this star system with them remained.
This was the vast legacy left by the Crocodilians, and now it all belonged to Blood瞳.
“Has Lyle set off yet?” He raised his head and looked at Elder Hans in front of him.
“Yes, My Lord. General Lyle has already set off, and people from other tribes have also arrived,” Elder Hans said respectfully.
According to Blood瞳's plan, all tribes had to enter the Shattered Bone Grounds within three days to seek protection. This was a massive undertaking, almost impossible under normal circumstances. But under the orders of Blood瞳, their god, and with the help of countless ancient passages, it was still accomplished. The problem was that such a large population suddenly gathered in the Shattered Bone Grounds, and food was severely insufficient. The most serious cases were his Hans tribe and the Cass tribe, which had almost been emptied due to Blood瞳's insatiable appetite. He had come to Blood瞳 today for this reason.

However, this problem was nothing in Blood瞳's eyes. He had already made preparations.
Before Elder Hans could even stand firm, a tribal warrior rushed into the icehouse and told him about a major event that had occurred outside the camp.
For some unknown reason, countless mutated creatures in the Shattered Bone Grounds had gone mad. They had emerged from the primeval forest and staggered to the outside of the tribal camp as if drunk, twitching a few times before dying. By the time Elder Hans arrived at the entrance of the camp, the open space outside was covered with the corpses of mutated beasts.
He opened his mouth in surprise, almost unable to believe his eyes.
The mutated beasts certainly wouldn't seek death themselves. These creatures had actually been controlled by Lyle long ago, and now Blood瞳 was driving them out of the forest as food. This was also a new ability gained after the Bio-Armor absorbed the units, allowing it to release a wide-area psionic control wave, just like the War Servants, to control all modulated creatures within the control area.
However, compared to the War Servants, Blood瞳's psionic control wave was still very weak, and the control range was limited. But it was enough to cope with the current situation.
In fact, even at this moment, many mutated creatures outside the camp had already begun to move, hunting frantically to prepare food for all the tribes. This first wave of sacrificial mutated beasts was just a temporary measure. More food would be delivered to Elder Hans soon.
“My Lord, you truly are the true god we have been waiting for…” Elder Hans choked for a long time, finally shedding tears.
With the food problem solved, the next thing was to build defensive facilities, which naturally didn't require Blood瞳 to worry about. In just half a day, a large number of ice fortresses appeared in the Shattered Bone Grounds. All the Rotuskans worked desperately under the leadership of their respective tribal elders. The elderly and children had already entered the ice fortresses. These ice fortresses were built with Rotuska's permafrost ice rock. Although they couldn't withstand high-tech weapons such as ship cannons, they could withstand strong impacts.
This was enough. In fact, Blood瞳 didn't expect them to play any role. He was just relocating them to prevent them from being accidentally injured in the upcoming conflict.
Lyle finally returned to Blood瞳 on the evening of the second day.
“My Lord, I have activated 500 Blood Nests and integrated them into the control network,” Lyle knelt on one knee in front of Blood瞳, saying respectfully. Blood瞳 hadn't given him much time, and 500 Blood Nests were his limit. Integrating them into the control network was even more difficult; it would have been almost impossible without the Core's help.
“Very good.” Blood瞳 nodded with satisfaction. Things were going more smoothly than he had imagined. Five hundred Blood Nests were a huge trump card. He couldn't wait to see the enemy appear.
Sylvana and her female stewardess would never have dreamed how foolish their way of summoning the fleet was. If they hadn't done this, maybe Blood瞳 would have to spend a lot of effort to wipe out this group of intruders, but now, only one battle was needed.
“This is not a battle.” Blood瞳 quietly raised his head, a cold smile on the corner of his mouth. “This is just a massacre.”
