Colonial Suit
#190 - Bait
Section 1: Bait
In the pitch-black universe, a fleet was sailing.
This was a small fleet of more than a dozen ships. However, the three leading ships were standard battleships, several kilometers in length, looking like a shark magnified countless times. The massive hulls were covered in armor with a ghostly blue sheen, and countless indicator lights were flashing. The entire battleship was brightly lit, and countless people could be seen working busily through the portholes.
These were three battleships that were entirely blue. There were no obvious markings on them, except for a white elf painted on the outside of each of their bridges.
Their name was "Hillt," the most standard split-type warship of the Xilek people, composed of three small spaceships. Usually, they could be disassembled to disguise themselves as merchant ships, but when they needed to fight, they could combine to become a warship.
The Hillt had a strong combat capability. Before the Great Chaos, it once helped the Xilek people conquer a vast starfield. However, with the improvement of personal martial power, this clumsy warship eventually withdrew from the stage of war.
But even so, it was still active on the Xilek people's trade routes, relying on its extremely strong adaptability and good maneuverability, playing the role of both merchant and thief.
At this moment, in the bridge of the leading Hillt, a middle-aged man with a full beard was sitting in the captain's seat, frowning as he examined the star chart. There was very little data on the star chart in front of him, only a few simple markers, and on it, one flashing marker was the most conspicuous. It looked like it was getting closer and closer to them.
"How much longer until we reach the target?" the bearded captain asked.
"One day and seven hours," the navigation crew member replied. He nervously collected data while entering it into the star chart. He looked very busy. In this unfamiliar starry sky, everything had to start from scratch. This was a real test for him. In fact, if the Xilek people didn't value battleship training so much, they would probably have gotten lost long ago. Even with the young lady's coordinates, the workload was still huge.
"Still more than a day?" the bearded captain said, frowning. He glanced at his data terminal, his frown deepening.
"No, this speed is too slow. The young lady hasn't sent us a signal for three days. I'm worried she's in danger. Order the fleet to abandon exploration mode. We must get there as quickly as possible. Also, can you find the young lady's spaceship?"
"That's not a problem. The young lady's spaceship has an identification code. As long as we get close enough, we can find it," the navigation crew member replied readily. "But Captain, abandoning exploration mode is too wasteful. This is an unexploited virgin land. If we explore it thoroughly, this will be our Xilek people's starfield."
"Compared to the young lady, a starfield is insignificant," the bearded captain interrupted the navigator, a look of determination on his face.
"Execute my order, we must reach the destination within three hours."
"Yes, Captain," the navigator replied loudly, sending out the order at the same time.
Three minutes later, the entire fleet began to accelerate, entering warp in streaks of blue light…
At the same time, in the Shattered Bone Land of Rottesska, Blood瞳 was lying on a huge ice table, feasting. In front of him was a massive amount of roasted meat, and many tribal girls were shuttling back and forth, bringing more food and water to Blood瞳. Blood瞳 ate very quickly, a whole piece of roasted meat would be gone in the blink of an eye. The remaining bones were casually thrown into the corner, where the remains of food had already piled up like a mountain.
This was his second meal of the day, and each meal consumed nearly a ton of food, which stunned everyone who knew about it.
However, Blood瞳 had his own unspeakable suffering.
Since he obtained the two new units, the colony finally began to show signs of evolution, but this consumed a lot of bio-energy. The energy pool in his body was almost always dry, so other than desperately eating, Blood瞳 really didn't know what else he could do to ensure his physical strength.
But this wasn't a bad thing, Blood瞳 could already feel the colony's mutation, all the cells seemed to be changing every moment. Some were strengthening, and some were weakening.
Blood瞳 couldn't grasp the dynamics of every cell, but he could feel the colony's changes from the core's changes. The core had hardly contacted him during this time, but its computing power was increasing exponentially. It was precisely because of this that he could bring the entire planet's Blood Nest under control. To some extent, the core had temporarily replaced the original control center.
Of course, this was just a temporary measure. After all, the core was the colony's brain, Blood瞳 couldn't, and couldn't let it leave him. So he had to find a replacement.
This replacement had already been found, it was the control center of the Shattered Bone Land's wide-area modulation system. This control center was originally modified by Wright and used as an energy collection device, but the basic functions were all there. After this battle was over, Blood瞳 would have the core modify this control center so that it could take over the entire planet's defense network and divine domain adjustment.
"You can really eat," next to Blood瞳, Robbie looked enviously at his gluttony, holding a steaming cup of coffee in his hands.
He was currently wrapped in an animal fur, his face pale. The impact of the last battle hadn't been eliminated. Although he resisted the Black Burial Blood Poison's invasion with his holy power, his immune system was inevitably damaged, making him very weak now, and he could only return to the shuttle for deep treatment to recover.
Robbie was a very refined guy, but he envied Blood瞳's crude eating habits. It gave him a sense of hearty pleasure. But when it came to himself, he couldn't be as crude as Blood瞳 no matter what.
"I'm just trying to survive," Blood瞳 put down a large leg bone of an unknown animal, licking his lips as he replied. "How are you doing?"
"I'm okay," Robbie yawned, holding the hot coffee in his hands. "Besides not being able to fight, having a fever and headache, staggering after walking a few steps, shivering when encountering a bit of cold air, and not being able to eat anything, I'm actually still a normal person."
"That's normal enough…" Blood瞳 chuckled. Then a sly light flashed in his eyes. "Or, can I help you?"
"No thanks," Robbie quickly shook his head in refusal. "I'm not used to implanting some unknown object into my chest. Although this object may help me in the short term."
"You saw it?"
"Of course, I'm not an idiot. There are too many abnormalities here," Robbie replied calmly, his expression showing no abnormality. "I know this is your secret, and I don't intend to ask. But don't forget the purpose of our trip."
"It's for the henchmen, don't worry, I'm prepared," Blood瞳 smiled slightly.
His core was evolving, and with the improvement of computing efficiency and the increase in control ability, there were also more divisible sub-seeds. It was impossible to build a legion, but it was extremely simple to increase a few henchman slots. Moreover, Robbie was Blood瞳's closest buddy, and Blood瞳 didn't mind giving him some exclusive warriors as henchmen.
"By the way, how are Poshy and Mia?"
"They're still sleeping," Robbie replied enviously. "So lucky, they actually awakened the bloodline of twin angels. Is this the curse of Poshemy Star? I didn't expect this disaster bloodline from ancient times to reappear in the world. This time, when we go back, we'll get them some ability potions, maybe we can guide the bloodline abilities out in advance."
"Oh? There's such a saying?" Blood瞳 asked in surprise.
"Probably," Robbie wasn't too sure either. "Logically speaking, bloodline abilities are also part of the ability system, so ability potions should be effective. But even if they're not effective, it doesn't matter, since these two little guys have started to awaken, they will trigger these abilities sooner or later. If that doesn't work, we can think of a way in higher-level worlds."
"We?"
"Of course," Robbie smiled. "I think this time when we go back, we should officially team up, right? It's not a solution to keep going like this. Especially this time fighting against the Odd, I found that we need a solid team."
"Then what about your church?" Blood瞳 asked strangely. "I remember you still have to support a big family, right?"
"Haha, that's not a problem at all. Our Condemnation Church is a loose organization anyway, I just need to hand in the profits. I don't need any money anyway. And once we team up, I can ask you for help when the church needs it. You wouldn't refuse me, would you?" Robbie said with a laugh.
"Of course not," Blood瞳 also laughed. He held out a greasy hand. "Then let's wish us a happy cooperation in advance."
"That…" Robbie's face immediately fell, looking at Blood瞳's hand with a sad face. Then he looked at his own clean white fingers. "Can we not shake hands?"
"What do you think?" Blood瞳 showed a smirk.
"…………" Robbie hesitated for a long time, and finally gritted his teeth, shaking hands with Blood瞳 with an attitude of going to the execution ground. He said through gritted teeth, "Happy… cooperation."
"Hahahaha…" The two laughed at the same time.
And at this moment, in the outer space of Rottesska, a fleet jumped out of warp.
On the foremost Hillt battleship, the navigator's sharp voice rang out.
"Found the young lady's shuttle. But it's being attacked!"
"What!?" The bearded captain sat up straight. "Confirmed the target?"
"Confirmed, it's a cosmic mercenary combat shuttle, identification unknown. Not good, it found us and is fleeing to the planet below."
"Chase after it!" The bearded captain was furious, grabbing the captain's hat in his hand. "I want to know who dares to attack the young lady. Order the fleet to enter combat readiness. When necessary…"
The bearded captain paused, then a cruel glint flashed in his eyes. "Allow them to carry out indiscriminate attacks."
