Colonial Suit

#328 - The right to survive?

D8-113 planet. Yellow Cloud Star Region.

“Gurgle.” A creature covered in bone spurs collapsed to the ground, twitching a few times before going still. Not far from it, Little Bossi retracted her silver-glowing palm.

“Seventy-two. Have the strongest combat forces here been wiped out? All that’s left are the family armies.” Little Bossi said while licking an ice cream. At her feet, Lie Ya hissed softly.

This was the last planet of their conquest mission. After eliminating the main combat power of this planet, the Yellow Cloud Star Region would basically fall into the hands of the Romick family.

Little Bossi was responsible for the northern part of this planet, and had destroyed hundreds of bases in seven days. She was eliminating any creatures that dared to resist with near hurricane force. In just a few days, she had completely crushed the resistance.

A piercing whistling sound came from the sky, and a small warship slowly descended. After the hatch opened, thousands of soldiers ran out. They quickly occupied favorable terrain and rapidly deployed armed combat vehicles. Not far away, a somewhat primitive industrial city was burning, with a large number of aircraft circling above it, occasionally firing dazzling beams of light.

“Lord Bossi.” A man in a military officer's uniform walked to Little Bossi's side and saluted respectfully. “This city has been successfully occupied. Thank you for your hard work.”

“Ugh, just leave me alone. Can’t you see I’m busy?” Little Bossi said impatiently, squatting down to stroke Lie Ya’s smooth fur. Lie Ya purred comfortably, and with a flick of its big tongue, ate the ice cream in Little Bossi’s hand clean.

“Ah, Lie Ya, you’re cheating again! We agreed that you have to let me pet you enough before you can eat one!” Little Bossi shouted loudly, in a very good mood. But after looking at the remaining waffle cone in her hand, her face fell.

“There’s none left, not a single one. I only brought a box, and you ate them all. Lie Ya, you have to compensate me!” “Roar!” Lie Ya rolled its eyes, thinking, ‘So what if I ate a few of your ice creams? Do you think I don’t know you secretly hid another box? When I find it later, I won’t leave you a single one.’

“Forget it.” Seeing Lie Ya’s nonchalant appearance, Little Bossi knew that it was impossible to reason with it, and couldn't help but feel dejected.

But she didn't feel too bad. Lie Ya had contributed a lot during this time. Her ability to sweep through the northern hemisphere in such a short time was inseparable from Lie Ya. Although Lie Ya's current strength was still at the Apprentice level, it was already enough. On this planet with at most Apprentice-level warriors, Lie Ya was a pivotal force.

Of course, it would be even better if it wasn't so gluttonous…

Little Bossi thought to herself, speechless and tearful.

“Lord Bossi.” Seeing Little Bossi's dejected expression, the officer next to her smiled slightly.

He reached out and snapped his fingers. Immediately, someone ran to the warship and brought out a refrigerated box.

“We have already considered your needs, so please don’t worry.” The officer said respectfully to Little Bossi. “This is vanilla ice cream and chocolate flavor that our logistics fleet just airlifted from Serrariton. I think you will definitely like it.”

“Huh? Really? That’s great!” Little Bossi jumped three feet high in an instant. All her dejection vanished. Watching several soldiers push the box over, her eyes narrowed into crescent moons with joy.

Lie Ya also roared happily, and taking advantage of Little Bossi's inattention, pounced directly on the box.

“Hey! Lie Ya, that’s mine, it’s mine! You’re not allowed to touch it!” Little Bossi panicked when she saw this and also pounced over. The human and beast made a ruckus.

Watching them frolic, the officer also smiled. At this time, a soldier ran to his side and reported something. He was taken aback.

“There are still people resisting?”

“Yes, Colonel Meek. We encountered strong resistance. The opponent is not using armor but their strength has reached the peak Apprentice level even when fully armed!” The soldier replied loudly, his face full of sweat.

“Just confirmed news, three of our Striker squads have been eliminated.” “Has the target's identity been confirmed?” “It has been confirmed that they do not belong to any cosmic mercenary or space pirate organization. It is speculated that they are native aborigines!” “A native aborigine can reach the peak Apprentice level?” The officer's eyes narrowed.

“This is not good news. Although this place has been rated as a Sixth World, such powerful warriors will be an obstacle to our Romick family's rule here. They must be eliminated.” “But Colonel Meek, we don’t have the ability.” The soldier said worriedly. “Unless we summon a near-Earth orbital bombardment, we cannot guarantee killing him. But if we summon the bombardment, this planet…”

“This planet must be protected. What the Romick family wants is to occupy, not destroy. We only need to defeat the resisters, and everything else must be completely handed over to the family. You must remember, we are not destroyers of civilization, but conquerors.”

“Yes, Colonel Meek. Then we…” “Don’t worry about this matter, we have more powerful warriors here. Didn’t the young lady have them come here to solve these tricky problems?” The officer smiled slightly, turning his gaze to Little Bossi not far away.

The resister was quickly found, and it turned out to be an extremely huge bone spur creature. Its height reached a full seven meters, more than twice that of ordinary bone spur creatures. Moreover, the bone spurs on its body had turned purple, emitting a crystal-like light. Around it, the corpses of hundreds of soldiers lay scattered, many of them torn to pieces and without complete bodies.

This resister was indeed powerful. At least when Little Bossi arrived here, she personally saw it smash a heavily armored hovering combat vehicle with one blow, and then shoot purple rays from the bone spurs on its body, shooting down dozens of airborne transforming fighters. Its attack power was comparable to a fully armed cosmic mercenary. The soldier was not wrong, it was indeed not something ordinary troops could handle.

But for Little Bossi, it was nothing. Could the bone spurs on its body be harder than the side armor of a warship? Could its purple-red rays be stronger than someone who had already entered the Meteor level?

So the bone spur creature died, its limbs severed alive by Little Bossi's countless silver threads.

It fell in a pool of purple-red blood, but even at the moment of death, it was still struggling and roaring, a series of unintelligible languages roared from the depths of its throat.

“What is it saying?” Standing on a hovering platform, Little Bossi asked curiously.

Beside her, Colonel Meek looked at the smart device in his hand, then shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know, the database doesn’t have this language, maybe it’s surrendering?” “Is that so? What a pity, it said it too late.” Little Bossi sighed. “I could have spared its life if it had begged for mercy earlier.”

“No need, Lord Bossi. Defeating the resisters is your task. You can exchange it for a large reward from the family. Moreover, it would be detrimental to the family's rule if it were allowed to live. You probably don't want to see that, do you? You should know that after this star region is conquered, you can get a large share.” Colonel Meek enticed without revealing any traces.

“This is my biggest headache. How am I going to spend so much money?” Little Bossi really didn't think about it anymore, laughing and walking towards the warship.

Behind her, Colonel Meek's smile faded little by little. He looked at the smart device in his hand again, a hint of different power flashing in his eyes. "What is the meaning of the Romick family’s existence?"

“What a joke.”

Crack, the smart device was crushed by him. He turned to the soldiers next to him and said, “Kill all resisters. The Romick family needs a completely obedient planet.”

“Yes!” The soldiers answered loudly, and then more transforming fighters flew into the sky.

Looking at the city ahead that was once again engulfed in war, Colonel Meek said expressionlessly in a low voice.

“The right to survive is limited to the strong.

You are not strong enough, so you must either submit or be destroyed.” “This is the cruelty of the universe. The rise of a force naturally stands on the corpses of more forces. You have no choice, and neither do I…” “But fortunately, I stand on the side of the strong. And that is precisely your misfortune.”

“May you rest in peace.”

Colonel Meek made a cross on his chest, then walked towards the warship without looking back.

The distant sky was burning, beams of light covering one well after another, vaguely conveying cries and wails. The northern part of this planet was completely suppressed. It was foreseeable that in three days, this place would usher in a new master. And the original native residents, whether they were once a king or a lord, would either prostrate themselves before the new master, offering the most humble loyalty, or…, would only perish.

This is conquest. The development of a powerful force requires fresh blood and more weaklings to succumb. There is no justice in the universe. The only thing that exists is the naked natural law. Although this law has little impact on the bottom-level civilians, it is a thorough horror for the vested interests of more forces.

And these were also happening simultaneously on other planets in the Yellow Cloud Star Region.

Miya… Robbie…

Leigh?

……, exclusive warrior……

And of course, Blood瞳.

Three days later, the conquest of the Yellow Cloud Star Region was completed, and Blood瞳 led the team to the next mission location again. There, he would carry out suppression missions and destroy a family as much as possible.

This mission was different from conquest, with great freedom. It was also more cruel and fierce.

Although the reward seemed low, the actual gain was much more than the surface data because each battle was settled separately. The Romick family's rewards to Blood瞳 and others had always been top-notch. The reward for the same mission was several times higher than the reward from the Mercenary Headquarters. So Blood瞳 and others had no complaints.

But this time, for some reason, Blood瞳 seemed a little listless.

Sitting in the captain's seat of the 击棱, he supported his chin with one hand, and thought of the native aborigine he had knocked down again, and the sound it was still roaring when it fell.

“The right to survive…”

Blood瞳 frowned, wondering what he was thinking.

“Sir, communication from the young lady. She requests that we return immediately.” A crew member suddenly stood up and shouted loudly.

“She said, rumors…

have begun”!
