Colonial Suit

#878 - Enemies and Allies

Black mist churned between the heavens and the earth, as if the fruit truly contained the universe within it.

Blood瞳 arrived at a vast platform. From here, he could survey the entire Void City, like a deity. The Guardian followed behind him, countless tubes connecting to his body and extending into the void. His grotesque face was perpetually etched with a smile, an expression both bizarre and horrifying.

However, after their previous encounter, Blood瞳 knew that this eerie smile was merely a facade. The fellow was actually quite reasonable.

Blood瞳 stopped. "Alright, they can no longer sense me. You can say what you need to say."

"Actually, there's nothing in particular. It's just that I haven't seen an old friend in a long time and wanted to take another look at you," the Guardian's words were astonishing, causing Blood瞳's heart to clench.

"An old friend? Haven't seen in a long time?"

He turned around, his gaze fixed intently on the Guardian, his eyes flashing with a terrifying light. "I don't understand what you're saying."

"I thought you should understand," the Guardian smiled again, his expression unspeakably hideous. He met Blood瞳's gaze with a strange look, then said, word by word, "No, you will definitely understand. The ancient, savage demon, the butcher stained with flesh and blood, the tyrant hated by countless races, who pierced through the gaps of time and space, reborn from death with a destiny of vengeance, the conqueror who has descended upon the world once more."

"Blood瞳 of Krodir."

What!?

Suddenly having his name called out, Blood瞳's heart convulsed, almost unable to believe his ears.

Why? Why did he discover my identity? Why does he know my name? What exactly is this octopus? And what does being a Guardian mean?

A dense fog of mystery surged into Blood瞳's mind, and before he knew it, he was breathing rapidly, his fists clenched tightly.

His identity had been seen through by the Chairman before, but after all, the Chairman had access to the Cosmic Mercenary database and had been paying attention to his movements for a long time. But what about this Guardian? This is the Second World; his name should never have been circulated here. Why does he recognize him? And why is he so familiar with his past?

From the way he said 'Krodir', it was clear that he was not unfamiliar with the name, and was not hostile either.

Suppressing the distracting thoughts in his mind, Blood瞳 suddenly calmed down again.

He turned his back to the Guardian and said, "If I were to say you've mistaken me for someone else, what would you think?"

"That's impossible," the Guardian chuckled grotesquely, walking to Blood瞳's side. "Because I won't be mistaken. In fact, in the Second World, many people won't be mistaken, no matter how you hide."

"Why?"

"Because this is the Second World... Your Highness Blood瞳," the Guardian said meaningfully. "The civilizations living here are mostly victors of the ancient Great Chaotic War. Their heritage is much more complete than that of the lower worlds. Do you think they wouldn't know the secrets of Krodir?"

"The files about Krodir below the Third World have all disappeared. Don't you think that's very abnormal? Even if there were gaps in history, it shouldn't be like this. So what is the truth?"

The Guardian turned around, his expression incredibly complex. "The truth is, they don't want Krodir's name to appear in the world again!"

"However, this is only for the lower worlds. For the Second World itself, everything about Krodir is an object of their research. They are familiar with Krodir, they understand Krodir, and they even know how to deal with Krodir. Because they are all victors of the war. In that distant Great Chaotic Era, they used their bodies, their souls, and the sacrifices of their races to experience Krodir's power and terror. They revere this power, and they also want to master this power."

"Even if they won the war, on a spiritual level, they are complete failures!"

"In such an environment, do you think they might not recognize you?"

The Guardian looked at Blood瞳 again, his eyes bright. "You are a beacon... Your Highness Blood瞳. You will discover how many enemies you have. And how many potential allies you have."

"War is a catalyst for civilization, a catalyst for the world, and a catalyst for the universe. And even though the once great Krodir is gone, the impact it left behind is still far beyond your imagination."

"Just like the Teng Snake Clan, and... me."

So that's how it is!

Blood瞳's mind suddenly cleared, and a surge of fervent fighting spirit welled up within him.

So, it's all because of his ancient heritage. It's the enemies who were once defeated by this heritage, who were scared out of their wits. Although they won the war, they are still losers at heart, still harboring the 'smallness' of losers. What's so scary about such enemies?

Blood瞳 doesn't fear challenges, because it's the only path for him to grow and become stronger.

What if there are many enemies? What if they are strong? Since the Krodir of the past once defeated them, then he, who has obtained Krodir's heritage and possesses the power of the abyss, has even less reason to be afraid!

Thinking of this, Blood瞳's eyes flashed with a terrifying light. He suddenly asked.

"You mentioned the Teng Snake Clan, and you mentioned yourself. Is there a difference? Also, why do you think the Teng Snake Clan are my allies? If I'm not mistaken, they should be my food."

"It used to be like that," the Guardian replied in a deep voice. "That was the suffering of the Teng Snake Clan, and also Krodir's miscalculation. The Teng Snake Clan can secrete a variety of hormones, which are highly toxic to other creatures in the universe, but have a great promoting effect on Krodir's enhanced cells. If it weren't for my protection, they would have been eaten clean by Krodir in the distant Great Chaotic Era."

"But don't you think that's a mistake? If all you need is hormones, I can have the Teng Snake Clan provide them. Why eat them? Isn't a race that's suppressed by you the most suitable vassal? You don't have to worry about them betraying you, because they can never rebel against their natural enemy. Krodir's policies back then were too crude."

The Guardian slowly said, then pointed to himself. "As for me... I am a relatively wise person. When I realized that Krodir's rise was unstoppable, I thought the only way was not to become its enemy."

"This universe can't accommodate any more ambitious people. Those old civilizations that crave more power never thought that after ten thousand years, Krodir's avenger would have returned to the world. Their pride, their civilization, are destined to pay the price for the past."

"If you don't want to be crushed by the torrent of fate, then you must become part of the torrent."

In the dense black mist, the Guardian slowly bent down, lowering his grotesque head in front of Blood瞳.

"This is the understanding of a Guardian who personally witnessed the Great Chaotic War."

"Your Highness Blood瞳, please allow me to become your ally."

"Under the glory of the great Krodir."(To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation..)
