Colonial Suit

#9 - Li Er's Great Change

Chapter 9: Lier's Transformation (Free Chapter)

Instantly, Bloodshot felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, his heart bitter and icy.

He knew about armored suits. And he had even seen one at the black market today. It was a reconnaissance type, very similar to what Black Bear was wearing now. Although it looked battered, Bloodshot knew how deadly that armament was. With his current abilities, he was as vulnerable as a baby in front of an armored suit.

In just a moment, all of Bloodshot's hopes turned into bubbles.

"Hahahaha! See how you run now, kid! Just wait to be skinned and have your tendons pulled out!" Black Bear laughed arrogantly, waving the six-barreled machine gun in his left hand, recklessly spraying a barrage of metal, chasing Bloodshot's figure everywhere.

The intense gunfire was almost impossible to count, sounding like a long "hissing" sound. This kind of armored suit-mounted six-barreled machine gun was called a "battlefield chainsaw" for a reason, due to its terrifying rate of fire and powerful attack. A rate of nearly ten thousand rounds per minute and the power to tear through two centimeters of steel made the rocks Bloodshot was using for cover as fragile as paper. Bloodshot could only rely on his whirlwind-like speed to shuttle between the rocks. He couldn't stop, because he knew that even if he paused for just a second, he would be torn to shreds by the metal storm.

"Hiss..." The sound of the battlefield chainsaw continued, interspersed with Black Bear's wild laughter. In the intense escape, Bloodshot's breathing became a little heavy. It wasn't a problem with his stamina, but with his tension. Right now, he was truly dancing on the edge of a blade. Any oversight would lead to his death. And what made him most uneasy was that the bandit who had slipped through the net earlier had also emerged.

That guy was definitely a sly one. He hadn't dared to show his face at the beginning, but now he was hiding far away, using a crossbow to ambush Bloodshot. The rapidly fired crossbow bolts constantly blocked Bloodshot's path, putting him in perilous situations.

If it were normal, Bloodshot could kill this bandit with just a flick of his finger. But now, he was being forced into dangerous situations by this bandit. After dodging several times, he felt a slight pain in his left arm, where a crossbow bolt had scraped off a piece of flesh.

This won't do!

Cold sweat trickled down his forehead. Bloodshot's mind raced, and he made a decision. Taking advantage of a gap created when a cover was torn apart, he suddenly accelerated, like a hunting panther, rushing frantically towards the bandit close to the ground.

He was going all out. If he didn't kill this bandit, he wouldn't be able to escape from here with Lier. In an instant, the killing intent in Bloodshot's chest soared, and his pupils were as scarlet as blood.

Kill!

In a flash, Bloodshot felt a familiar pulse suddenly come from within his body. A powerful force suddenly surged from the depths, transmitting to the soles of his feet. His speed was actually twice as fast as usual. The distance of twenty meters was crossed in an instant. The bandit's astonished and terrified face suddenly appeared before him. Bloodshot's right hand formed a knife-like gesture, and he slashed fiercely towards that hateful face.

"Puchi!"

Bloodshot's right hand pierced through the last bandit's mouth and exited from the back of his head. In a burst of blood, the bandit's eyes revealed an incredulous light. His entire body was actually pushed out by Bloodshot. Bloodshot's speed was too fast, pushing the bandit's corpse a full ten meters before it stopped. Then Bloodshot slammed the corpse to the ground and flipped towards the nearest rock without looking back.

But he was still a step too slow. With a burst of intense gunfire, Bloodshot felt a pain in his calf. A deep bullet hole appeared on it.

"Hahahaha!" Black Bear laughed wildly. "I've broken your leg! See how you run now. Brat, I didn't expect you to be hiding so well. Your speed is almost as fast as me in my armored suit. But so what? You're dead today! You're dead!"

"Bloodshot!" Lier's anxious voice came from the other side. She had also seen Bloodshot get injured, her voice full of despair.

"..." Hiding behind the rock, Bloodshot gasped for breath, the blood color in his eyes slowly fading.

His current condition was terrible. Although the surprise attack had successfully killed the annoying "fly," it had cost him an unbearable price. His legs were sore, and his muscles were strained from the burst of speed. And the index and ring fingers of his right hand were bent strangely, broken by the bandit's neck bones. But none of this was the most important thing. What mattered was the bullet hole in his calf. Although it hadn't hit the bone, Bloodshot was sure that he couldn't rely on this leg for a short time. He had been blessed by the goddess of luck not to have his leg shattered directly by the high-speed bullet.

From the beginning of the battle to now, only a few minutes had passed, and Bloodshot had already been on the edge of life and death several times. Now he had finally reached a dead end.

Tiredly lying behind the rock, Bloodshot lazily looked up at the sky. The fog-like confusion reappeared in his scattered eyes. The sky was gray, and it seemed like he would never see a clear day. But Bloodshot still wanted to soar freely under such a dirty sky.

A man... is an eagle...

Bloodshot clearly remembered this sentence written in a tattered book he had once read.

"Bastard! Bastard!" A crazy howl seemed to come from the distant horizon. Bloodshot's attention was pulled back to reality. He suddenly realized that the gunfire had stopped. With a thought, he quickly peeked out. He happened to see Black Bear pulling off the external machine gun in a rage.

He had actually run out of bullets for the machine gun in his excitement!

Opportunity!

Bloodshot's eyes lit up, and then he tore a piece of tattered cloth from his body, bent down, and tightly tied it around his injured calf. Then he stepped on it hard.

He knew that this was probably his last chance. As long as he could injure Black Bear's armored suit, it would mean that he had a chance to escape.

But... could his fist break through the steel armor?

A trace of confusion flashed in Bloodshot's eyes, but it disappeared in an instant. Taking a deep breath, he bent down, preparing to explode. His backward left foot seemed to touch something hard. Bloodshot turned his head and his eyes lit up.

It was a tattered cloth bag, the goods he had bought at the black market today. Bloodshot didn't care about the other things in it, but he clearly remembered buying a glove.

The tattered glove didn't seem to have any power at all. But now that Bloodshot was about to engage in hand-to-hand combat with steel armor, it had become his lifeline. Bloodshot immediately took out the glove and put it on. Immediately, a strange feeling of flesh and blood fusion spread to his heart, as if this glove was originally a part of his body.

"This is?" Bloodshot frowned, unable to understand why he had such a feeling. But now he obviously didn't have time to find the reason. He clenched his hands fiercely, and he rushed out of the cover again.

This rush was one of no return.

For survival, Bloodshot unleashed all his power at this moment, without any concealment. The muscles in his legs highly expanded, providing him with terrifying explosive power. With a muffled sound, a shallow dent appeared on the ground under his feet. The powerful reaction force pushed him out like a bullet!

But seeing this scene, Black Bear, who was disassembling the machine gun, was not surprised but delighted. He let out a wild laugh. "Haha, you rat, you finally came out! This time, I'll see how you run. Do you think you can hit me without a machine gun?"

"Dream on!"

With a deafening roar, Black Bear did not retreat but advanced, rushing towards Bloodshot. The two figures of vastly different sizes approached and collided in an instant. With a loud "bang!" Bloodshot immediately felt as if he had hit a city wall. A severe pain came from his fist. His entire body had involuntarily flown out. At the same time, the violent Black Bear also staggered, standing firmly in place.

Looking at Black Bear again, a clear fist print appeared on his left chest, actually sinking into the breastplate by about half an inch.

"Ha, that's fun. One more time!" With the protection of the armored suit, Black Bear was not afraid of this little damage at all. He shook his neck carelessly, rushing towards Bloodshot like a real giant bear. The heavy body stepped on the ground, leaving clear footprints on the rocky ground with each step.

"No!" Lier screamed. She rushed out of her hiding place. She had understood that the thin Bloodshot was not Black Bear's opponent at all. Even with the gloves, it wouldn't work. This was no longer a competition of hand-to-hand combat ability. This was a battle of two levels. Wearing the armored suit, Black Bear was like a tireless killing machine, which Bloodshot could not resist at all.

She didn't want Bloodshot to die, absolutely not!

"No!" Lier screamed frantically, suddenly throwing herself on Black Bear's back from behind, like an octopus hanging on Black Bear's back. Her hands frantically grabbed at Black Bear's face.

Black Bear's armored suit was a relatively primitive primary armored suit, and the face was unprotected. Lier's attack immediately made Black Bear flustered.

"Damn it! Bitch! Are you looking for death? Get down, get down!"

"No!" Lier scratched frantically, as if she had lost her mind. In this case, Black Bear was furious, his eyes flashing with killing intent. A large hand wrapped in steel quietly turned back and pressed on Lier's back.

Bloodshot, who was far away, was shocked when he saw this scene! For the first time, a look of horror appeared on his face.

"Lier, run!"

"Bloodshot..." Lier lay on Black Bear's back, suddenly giving Bloodshot a deep look. She was so serious, as if she wanted to imprint Bloodshot's appearance into the depths of her soul. A sad smile appeared on her beautiful face.

"A man... is meant to fly... It's a pity I can't fly with you... What a pity... I thought my body could last a few more days..."

"This world is so dirty..."

With a determined look in her eyes, Lier suddenly tore open her skin with her hands, and a large amount of blood sprayed onto Black Bear like a fountain. In Bloodshot's eyes, he clearly saw the glittering substance in the blood. Immediately afterward, Lier let out a non-human roar, her nails and teeth growing wildly, and bit Black Bear's neck.

"No!" Bloodshot and Black Bear screamed at the same time...
