Danger Zone

Aiden Keoni Matautia-Santoro. 

That was his name now. The most powerful heir in the country was now marked and mated by one of the most powerful watchdogs of the Santoro family. 

A child that they bought by forcing his parents to sell the child to them in exchange of money and protection against the virus that killed them in return. 

As an Omega who was marked and mated, Aiden should be happy. Because according to Crystal, his Alpha will now be more possessive and their life was now peaceful. 

Away from the begrudgingly abusive life filled with paparazzi that has been following Aiden or all this time ever since they announced their wedding. 

The non-stop harassment that Aiden need to suck up with until the day of their wedding. The constant nightmares that he need to forget so his first night with Primo will be peaceful and loving.

All this time he need to pretend, giving him a much greater problem than moving on and moving forward. The young Omega sigh as he put the last bit of clothing inside the cabinet and closing it softly. 

He thought that when he married Primo, his life will be for the better. But the Alpha suddenly changed after they were mated. 

Aiden caressed his bite mark and tears start to swell up from his eyes. He never in his life, he thought that the life of being marked and mated will be like this. 

Painful and lonely.

The begrudging hopelessness whenever he see couples on the streets, kissing and looking at each other's eyes lovingly. 

Aiden sigh for the umpteenth time before shaking his head and went out of the white walled house, filled with different paintings that were supposed to be beautiful and fun.

But instead, the sadness that they are trying to hide was slipping out of the canvas. Aiden like one of these painting since he met the one that created it. 

But upon hearing the true story behind the painting, he became sadder and sadder. The simple smile that he used to have was no longer there to be witnessed and shared. 

Aiden sat down in the middle of the couch as he looked out of the lonely house. Primo was not with him since the older Alpha has some work to do with Drax. 

In which, he never believed at. He knew that Primo is up to something and it is not related to his work. The anxiety that was building up into his system, was slowly clouding his sense of judgment. Making Aiden angrier to Primo without knowing what was truly happening.

He has been watching those Alphas and Omegas on TV and compare his relationship with Primo and theirs. He could see how happy they are and how their Alphas look at them lovingly.

He even wonders whether they are truly happy or just like that in front of the camera. As if that's how he pertain to his relationship with Primo right now. 

In front of the people that have been rooting for them since the very start, they are okay. They are fine and they are happy. Nothing couldn't surpass that happiness even a thin needle.

But behind those people's back, when the curtains fall down the stage, when they were just alone together, that happiness doesn't last. 

Aiden will go back to the usual routine of "good night, love" but answers never come back. The usual routine of "another work? I thought you are done for this week?" to just be answered by a single peck on his cheek. 

The usual routine of "I will be late, don't wait up" to just be a lie and his Alpha will return in two days. 

In short, Aiden was lonely. He was lonely to the point that his boredom almost lead to being suicidal. Drax had warned Primo about his condition in which the latter acknowledged but never brought any solution.

Aiden knew that Primo was somewhere with someone that was better than him. Even Primo's mini surprises do not work anymore. Everything that the Alpha does, only brings pain to the Omega. 

Now, he only wishes that this suffering ends with one swift of a sharp knife in the middle of the night, when Primo is in a deep sleep.

Hours passed by when Aiden hears the door opening. He looks at the clock and frowns as he thinks that Primo is a bit early tonight. 

He should be happy since his husband came home early and they can get to bed and maybe the Alpha will shower him with kisses before they go to sleep. 

But on the other side of his mind, Aiden knows that something like that is impossible to happen. By just looking at the tired Alpha, Aiden knows that he won't even spare a glance at the dull and unhealthy looking Omega. 

"Hey, baby."

Aiden did not answer him. Instead, the Omega rises from the couch and walks away slowly to their room. His heart is wrenching when he smells that awful scent from his Alpha. 

It was not his scent. 

Tears start to swell up to his eyes as he try to calm himself down while gripping his other arm or he will just burst it out and will be scolded by the Alpha again. 

Even if he was tired, Primo sensed the distress pheromones coming from his Omega. He followed his way to their bed, thinking that he will just be there by the bed, sleeping.

But what Primo smelled from their room, broke his heart. He never knew that their relationship will go downhill because he was busy. 

He has been neglecting Drax's warning about his Omega's health but he didn't know that it will be like this. Bony and thin-skinned Omega, that's what he see now in front of him.

Aiden tried to smile at him as he slowly push the door forward but Primo stopped it with his arm. He looked at the Omega as he flinched backwards and away from the door. 

The distress scent that should already been gone since the Alpha was there just continued to get more and more distress. 

Is this real? Does his Omega is scared of him now? 

Seeing Aiden's condition, the answer to his every question is a yes. Yes, everything he see right now is real. And Yes, his Omega is scared of him now. 

Primo backed away from the door and slowly closed it himself. He stared at the door before walking away. 

Even if it is painful, even if it is tragic, he will just walk away from his Omega. Unknown to the extra pain that he inflicted on Aiden, Primo sleep on the couch with a heavy heart.
