Danger Zone

Chapter 166 - The Paintings

Daime is staring blankly at a blank canvas. He knows what he needs to do but he doesn't know how to start doing it.

He sighs as he put the paint brush down and stretches his aching back. He has been staring for hours at that blank canvas as he grumbles whether to just buy new paintings for the tavern or made something on his own.

Buying them is the easiest thing to do but where is the effort? Daime sighs once again before looking out of his apartment complex, looking for an inspiration.

He even manages to convince himself to take a drive before shaking his head and goes back to his apartment. He flops down to the couch as he complains how lazy his brain cells are.

"I know how to draw and paint! But why does my mind tells me to just procrastinate and buy the new paintings?! Fucking hell!"

Daime keeps on complaining and screaming inside of his apartment, not caring about the noise complaints that will be sent to him after this tantrum.

He walks to his room and picks up his phone when he notices something near the lamp. He picks the while paper up and reads what is inside.

It is a tiny note from Mischka saying that he will be late for tonight's dinner and Daime should not wait for him. The Alpha smiles at how sweet his Omega is and that note sparks an idea or an inspiration in Daime's mind.

The Alpha doesn't want that idea to go away, resulting to him running back to the living room, grabs the blank canvas and the pencil beside it and starts to illustrate his first inspiration.

It all starts with a circle and a bunch of shapes. Daime is not thorough with his drawing but as soon as he starts, his hands will work automatically until these ideas runs out.

He puts the blank canvas to the floor as he finishes the last line on his sketch. Colors. The blank canvas needs colors.

Colors that will represent the mood of the whole painting, giving it a much vibrant feelings as it mask the sadness within it.

Daime hums along the song that comes up to his mind while mixing the colors of dark violet and white, giving it a purple to lilac. Adding a little bit of darker shade in there, the colors result to a lavender hue.

Something that Daime wants since every time he sees Mischka, he thinks of lavender. Something soothing and breathtaking just like his mate.

[If the heart is always searching,

can you ever find a home?]

Daime takes one of the thinnest paint brush he have and damps it in the color that he mixes before removing the excess from the brush with little amount of water and starts painting his drawing.

[I've been looking for that someone,

I'll never make it on my own.]

The young Alpha follows the line and the shapes that he drew before damping the brush again on the paints before following the next line, properly creasing the canvas as the colors fades along the lines.

The fading gives it a little bit more of a dramatic effect as the Alpha finishes the first part of the painting. He looks over to the other materials that he have and smiles.

Another idea strikes him and now he knows what he is going to do and what story to tell along with the paintings. He chuckles at how dumb he is by not thinking about it earlier.

"Oh, Mischka. You are truly a gift given to me by fate. My Omega, my inspiration."

He goes back to his paints to mix another set of colors until he comes up with the colors that he needs. Light brown that matches Mischka's eyes. A much lighter shade of yellow that matches his striking blond hair.

His porcelain-skin that gives Daime a hard time since he almost tries a hundred times to perfect it. The Alpha wants the exact hues and he seems not get it right.

Grumbling under his breath, he grabs his tablet that was lying on the coffee table and clicks the painting app that he has on his tablet. He picks a photo of Mischka that is vivid in order to match the color of his skin.

Daime looks at the color percentages and laughs. No wonder he can't get it right, he needs more white on that brown.

[Dreams can't take the place of loving you

There's gotta be a million reasons why it's true.]

Daime wipes his sweat away as he looks at his finish product. He smiles as he walks away from the canvas that was blank earlier. He nods his head and pats his back for a job well done, before putting it in the balcony to dry up.

He makes sure that the canvas is away from the floating dust particles and water sprays for the neighbor's kid. He doesn't want his painting to be ruined for his surprise.

Yes, these paintings are all surprises. He thinks of it while finishing his first product. He thinks that Mischka should not see any of this or the surprise will be ruined.

Thus, he contacts the only person he can contact in the country to hide the paintings away from public's eyes before setting it up in the mini gallery of the tavern.

[When you look me in the eyes,

And tell me that you love me.]

Daime sighs as he finishes another blank canvas that is filled with snowy mountains and a little house in the middle of it. He smiles as he remembers who's house it belongs to.

That strikes him another idea who to draw. He takes a much larger canvas and starts illustrating the woman who helped him when he was in need.

He looks at the two extra blank canvas that he has and smiles. He nods his head as he continues to draw Mrs. Novinchi's illustration. Making her more recognizable, minus the part where he wears all ragged and old.

[Everything's alright,

When you're right here by my side.]

Daime puts down all of the canvas that he paints. Since Mischka is not inside the apartment and is at work, he smiles as he covers them with thin layers of papers and immediately calls Francis. The only person he can call in this country.

[When you look me in the eyes,

I catch a glimpse of heaven.]

Francis immediately answers the call and accepts his order. Daime sighs as he washes his hands and keeps all of the things that he used for the paintings.

He tasks Francis to get some frames for the paintings before going to his apartment and helps him putting them up. And before this day ends, Daime asks him to bring them to the tavern to be put up as soon as possible.

[I find my paradise

When you look me in the eyes.]

Daime sighs as the day ends with another blast. It has been weeks since the tavern has starts its re-modeling and Daime is excited to see the new face of the tavern.

He also makes sure to invite the Santoros with its grand re-opening, not caring if the other people will call him leeching to the most powerful family, since he has been part of them at some point.

"The re-opening is be the day where Aiden will feel the sufferings that he put me through before."
