Dead's Requiem

Ernst Haeckel was still speaking while he was walking away. "I'm going to give a long term solution to your problem. There's no need to take your daughter away from here."

The mayor stopped banging his head on the floor and looked at Haeckel's back.

"I'm not a babysitter and my only goal here is to refuel. If those guys are unreasonable, then I'd clean them up for you. If they're good people then I'll also be good to them."

Outside the city hall, there were three particular thugs who looked similar to each other. A largely built man with large muscles had a metal bat, the second one was a small man who had a crowbar while the last man who had an average physique held nothing at all. Behind them, there were ten more thugs who had swords sheathed on their waists. The three in the front were actually Metahumans.

The small man looked impatient and was walking to and fro. "Useless piece of sh*t mayor! Don't make us wait! If you don't get your ass over here in five seconds, I'm going to beat your ass again. Five, four, three, two - I called your ass here mayor! Why are you hiding behind a foreigner?"

The small man was now looking at Haeckel who had just opened the door. Behind him was the innocent looking Shizuka.

"Second brother, don't forget that they have to fulfill the quota of three women per day." The man with the average physique said.

The small man replied while still not taking her eyes of Shizuka, "Of course third brother I know that. I was just savoring the sight of such a beauty."

Haeckel broke their conversation with a question, "Is it true that you have fuel?"

"So what if we have? Shut your mouth." The small man was visibly annoyed. "Fifth brother, show him his place."

The 'fifth brother' was not a man of speech. He took a baseball ball from his pocket and dribbled it on the floor. He pointed the bat at the European man like he was measuring the distance between them. Then, he threw the ball up in the air and hit it using the metal bat.

The ball flew towards Haeckel's face.

(Fast!) Haeckel instinctively dodged his head to the left while quickly unsheathing his sword. He was able to dodge the ball but his expression was still grim. He felt that something was weird. The man with the baseball smiled and curled his index finger.

(From behind!) Haeckel turned his head and saw the baseball coming back straight to his face. (I'm screwed.) He tried to dodge once again but the previous momentum of his body didn't allow him to do so. The baseball hit his forehead causing him to fall on the floor and make him pass out cold.

"That's what you get from being to cocky, boy." The second brother said while walking towards him.

"Haeckel!" Shizuka transformed into her demon form. A tail grew from her back and fire surrounded her body. She summoned a bow and notched a fire arrow into it. Then, she spoke with the tone of a devil, "Don't take one step from there."

The small man stopped walking and his face changed from contempt into wariness. He raised his hands up, held it behind his head and knelt down.. "Rest assured, I'm not taking one more step young lady."

"However, I cannot assure you of one certain thing." The small man smiled menacingly and shouted, "Third, do it now!"

The small man was actually conjuring needles while his hands was behind his back. He threw ten needles towards Shizuka. At the same time, the Third Brother summoned wind which accelerated the speed at which the needles flew.

Shizuka rolled to the left and dodged the barrage of needles. She was now hiding behind a pillar which she deemed impenetrable by the needles. "Damn it! I thought Haeckel was strong. How was he taken down that easily. Oh sh*t!"

A baseball bounced from the wall and ricocheted in her direction. She rolled away and hid behind another pillar.

"Come out now, girl. Please don't take this against us."

"Shut up."

"I promise we will take good care of you. You will not have to worry about your safety nor about food and everything. We, the Brotherhood, can protect you as long as you come with us."

"Second Brother is right. The mayor cannot protect you all. Specially with First Brother's power, you will not have to worry about sleeping with random men just to survive. You can just sleep with us five!" Third Brother chimed in.

Another baseball bounced on the wall and ricocheted towards her. This time, she used her fire bow to block the incoming baseball, burning it to ashes.

"Oh girl, you just angered Fifth Brother! That was his favorite baseball. Trust me, you won't like it when he's mad. If I were you, I'd give up and ask for forgiveness right now before he loses his temper!" The Second Brother's voice had a sharp pitch and was now annoying Shizuka.

"The Fifth is bringing out all his aces! I told you, you should have for forgiveness." The Second Brother said mockingly.

Shizuka was still hiding behind the pillar and was thinking of what to do. "The best defense is an offense." She loaded two arrows on the bow and breathed deeply.

She revealed herself and with a quick aim, fired the arrows at the Metahuman brothers. At the same time, there were five baseballs coming in her direction.
