Dream Life - Life in the Other World of Dreams
Episode XVIII: Entrance Exam
July 21, the day following the application for the examination.
Sometimes tomorrow is exam day, and Sharon's only hope was to study.
Liddy went out into the city with Guy as his escort when he said he would get the trinkets together.
But when I say I'm going to do my studies, there's not much I can actually do.
Because the journey means we need to reduce our luggage as much as possible, and the book just brought us an introduction to history and magical relationships one at a time.
I'll be studying history and magic theory, but for me and Sharon, it's a book I've been reading since I was five or six, and I almost memorize it.
Sometimes, as we chatted, we proceeded with the study group in the form of answers to her questions and decided to finish where the Liddies had returned.
When Liddy said, "How's it going? Are you feeling a little confident?" Speaking to Sharon, Sharon nodded cocklessly, "Yes. Just a little bit," he replied with a scuffle.
The following July 22nd.
Outside the window there was a clean blue sky.
With the semi buzzing in the morning, me and Sharon are escorted by Liddy and creep through the gates of the Tilia School of Magic.
I can't bring any baggage to the exam venue, including writing equipment, so I go into the classroom, which is the venue on my own.
The desk was equipped with three exam number bills, ink and blade pens, and it was not even 8: 30 a.m., but more than half of the students were already in their seats. Some kids go to the bathroom over and over and I remember the old days.
(With that said, when you took college exams, you wanted to go to the bathroom just before. I couldn't help but want to go until the paper was handed out, but I didn't want to go at all with the signal to start the exam. I guess that kid does too......)
At nine o'clock, a male employee came in who explained the exam.
"I'm going to do an orb confirmation now. No one can leave this classroom after confirmation. Anyone who wants to go to the bathroom, please go now."
More than half the students rise to that word.
Sharon stays seated and doesn't show the bare gesture of standing up.
"Is the bathroom okay? If you want to go, now's the time."
"I'm fine...... I'm a little nervous, but I'm fine"
I answered in a firm tone, so I thought something had happened, but it wasn't even an atmosphere for chatter, so I quietly waited to confirm the orb.
In about twenty minutes the confirmation of all the orbs will be completed and the classroom will be as quiet as it was hit with water.
9: 30am.
When the test form was handed out, he said, "Start!" The voice echoes.
The sound of rolling paper echoed in the classroom and the exam began. The sound of the crispness of the blade pen echoed, and the exam-like atmosphere dominated the classroom.
The first subject is the common language exam. In Japanese, it speaks Mandarin and modern texts.
The problem was surprisingly simple, and it ended in about fifteen minutes.
(Isn't the Mandarin problem in elementary school more difficult? Long-term reading was an easy story too... I've reviewed it three times, but I still have more than half an hour...)
You may not leave the classroom at all during the exam. Even if you have finished solving the question, you will not be able to leave your seat until you have a signal for the end of the examiner.
Now that I'm free, I've decided to turn the paper upside down and sleep on my desk.
Examiner passes several times, but passes without saying anything. Maybe they don't know about the exam and think they gave up.
An hour after the start of the study, a sigh-like voice leaks from the student with the signal of termination.
The next exam is in half an hour, but if you go to the bathroom, you'll be waiting for an orb confirmation when you get back. It's a hassle, so I slept right at my desk.
The second subject was arithmetic, which was also a calculation that sought the area of quadruple arithmetic and simple shapes.
This also ends in about fifteen minutes, sparing time.
(I know exactly what Liddy was saying. This would be a full score unless both me and Sharon made a mortal mistake...)
At the end of the math exam, it was lunch time.
Liddy was supposed to be back in the evening, so he wasn't in college, and just me and Sharon were supposed to have lunch.
They can order a simple meal in a place like the student cafeteria in the college, but I decided to go outside because I don't want to dine with those heavily distressed atmosphere students.
Around the college there is a dining room for students and staff, who are appropriately chosen to order meals.
I groaned, "That was easy," and I said, "How was Sharon?," he asked.
"It was easy...... is that question really the exam question? Wrong form got lost at my place or something like that..."
Apparently, it's too easy to be anxious the other way around.
Until the dish comes out, checking the exam, she's stroking her chest down saying it was the same problem.
I got a little extra time back, so I touched on what I was in the mood for before the exam started.
She begins to explain in a small voice, a little embarrassed.
"Lydia told me yesterday. Remember the battle if you want to be next to Master Zach."
I don't understand what that means, and I'm like, "You mean the fight?," he asked.
She nodded forcefully,
"Yes, Mr. Lydia,“ losing your normal mind in battle is the most dangerous thing, isn't it? So the exam can be as tempting as it is when you try to fight, but come with your normal heart. ""
(I see. So you were calm for being in the mood. Well, I'm going through a life-threatening battle, so I guess I can...)
When you finish your meal and return to the classroom, you will feel the same way as in the morning, taking exams on the history of each country, the geography of the continent, magic theory, etc.
History and geography are as simple as the previous two subjects, with no tension whatsoever.
The only thing was that magic theory was harder than the other four subjects, but to the extent I was learning from Liddy when I was six, and I had no problems at all.
(I wonder when I've had such an easy exam. Even the automobile license written exam, I remember it was a little harder......)
At the end of all the exams, the examiner's man begins explaining after the next day.
"I'm going into practice exams tomorrow. You will be on the eleventh day, August 3rd, so make sure you check your time by the day before. Well, good luck today."
As the examiner leaves the classroom, the students begin to leave the classroom simultaneously.
Some of the students were poorly prepared for the exam or were in tears, which may have been a difficult exam for normal children.
(If this is a problem, even Mel and Dan, who are childhood friendly, should be able to do most of it... maybe it's hard to educate about temples for sure. Again, there seems to be no doubt that the standard of education in this world is quite low)
Rendezvous with Liddy at the school gate.
She said, "How'd it go?," he asked, laughing.
"It's also a good place to clap. Maybe me and Sharon are full."
Liddy said, "So, I told you. You guys are absolutely fine," he laughs.
I just sighed a little,
"Now I know exactly what Liddy said. But you still have a practical exam. You can't be alarmed."
"Oh, that's not true. You two will definitely pass. It's more about how to get out of hand than that."
"Out of hand? That won't be necessary. Well, I'm not going to use the original magic."
"Whatever Sharon is, you must be pretty notable for having all attributes. Show me your true strength in that place. Sorcerer's Guild and private school associates are interested in you. If Sharon's strength is normal now, he's the head of Dantotsu. As I said before, you are already a regular court magician. So if we show as much strength as Sharon, we can definitely monopolize the first and second seats."
Indeed, she was right and received considerable attention at the application stage as well.
(It's troublesome to be noticed any more. If possible, the chief would like to give way to Sharon and go no further than five)
"But is it okay to get out of hand? If you're a magician in the Examiner class here, why don't you spot it?
"That's not true," she chuckles as her hands flicker.
"I don't know about teachers these days, but by the time I was around, there was only one person who would have noticed that. Normally, there's no such thing as a great teacher doing exams."
Talking about that, I went back to Guy's waiting inn.
Guy was pretty worried, waiting in the lobby of the inn.
He said, "How was it? If you can..." he looks at me, looking at his flirty daughter.
I suppressed about to blow out and said, "Me and Sharon are perfect," Guy nodded happily enough to see beside him and put his hand on Sharon's head.
The next day, we head to McCloud Realty and get the house extradited.
McCloud has said, "We have only served a little for what we have taken into account at the discount".
When I wondered what you were talking about, I cleaned the inside and there was a table set in the living room.
I said, "What's this?," he asked.
"It's something that was left in trouble for disposal at another property. Things themselves are pretty good stuff, so if you don't mind, I thought you might want to use them."
(Are you a surprisingly conscientious realtor? Or is my realtor image too bad...)
McCloud's prepared table was a fine polished piece of oak, almost brand new with few scratches. All six-legged chairs are made of the same material and have a shape that seems comfortable to sit on.
When I say thank you, McCloud's changing the subject.
"By the way, my calculations the other day, can't you tell me and my employees?
Apparently, I'm concerned about calculations such as discount rates and current value, and I wanted you to tell me that but I did the service for it.
"I don't mind, but it's not that hard, so I don't think it's enough to teach you."
Still, he wanted me to tell you, so I got my head down.
"After the exam, I'll show my face to your store. Is that all right?
(My first job at Doctus is economics, that's not going that far, sounds like being an arithmetic teacher. Unlike physics and chemistry, I wouldn't have much problem spreading it......)
He then visited McCloud's several times and taught him how to calculate discount rates and present value. From the description of the cash flow, it took quite a while, but just the merchant, McCloud understood the concept as quickly as possible.
(Looking forward to seeing what happens to this McCloud store up ahead. You could be a big merchant unexpectedly......)
In about two days from the next day, cookware and accessories are also available, making it somewhat like a new home.
Guy had gone to sell horses in the meantime and had also completed his registration with the Adventurer Guild.
Apparently, he doubted Liddy's words that he would never fail the exam and was securing his foot home. If he's just going home, the horse is enough for the guild's loaned horse. If you think about maintaining your horse for half a month now, you'd better sell it fast.
Since my new home is ready, but I have about ten days until my practice exam, I suggested going into the woods from tomorrow.
"I have nothing to do from tomorrow, and I want to go into the woods, but I want everyone's opinion"
Guy immediately replies, "I have no objection".
Liddy also replies lightly, "I'm fine, too,"
"But you don't have a body. At your age, you can't sign up for the Alliance, so you won't be able to upgrade."
Adventurer Alliance registration requirements are fifteen years of age and older. By way of exception, the fact that an adventurer of Level III or higher is a guardian allows him to register even under the age of fifteen, but both Guy and Liddy are of Level IV, thus not meeting the requirements.
The city is constantly being asked to crusade, so if you go into the woods, you can easily accomplish the request.
While Guy is here, he'll be able to get up to grade eight soon because he's going to be able to accomplish it even at the request of the sixth class.
"I honestly don't care about the grade. I want to invest in leveling. If Liddy accomplishes his request, it won't be a problem, and he won't need to be in the guild."
"That's true... but if you're strong enough, you're already in class six. I want other adventurers to know about it. I'm sure there's someone who's going to make a fool of me..."
"I agree with you. The rank of the Alliance is the perfect way to let Master Zach know what he is capable of. It would have been nice if I was in third grade..."
I couldn't really feel what you two meant, so I decided to listen to what Sharon wanted to do.
"Anyway, you can go into the woods tomorrow. What about Sharon?
"I want to go, too. If you can forgive your father..."
Sharon stares at Guy with his upper hand.
"Tomorrow is about the bottom line, so you can go with me, right?
When I said that, it felt like Guy had no choice, and I said to Sharon, "Don't bother me," and I accepted.
