Dream Life - Life in the Other World of Dreams
Lesson 25: Classes
Classes began on September 2, the second day of the college.
First-year classes are practiced in the morning - from 8 a.m. to noon - in seating and in the afternoon - from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to magic theory, general education such as arithmetic, history and geography is compulsory, although in the morning sitting.
As I've known since I took the written exam, the pedagogical level is very low.
During the class, I have extra time, so I made a discussion about this.
Firstly, one factor in the low level of pedagogy is the education system in this world.
Nothing that says public educational institutions to any country equals nothing, and to complement it is a private temple house if you are more than a nobleman, a tutor if you are a civilian. Either way, the power of tutors and temple teachers determines the level of knowledge on the teaching side.
For this reason, there is variation in the way each teacher is taught, and here in higher (...) educational institutions like the Tilia School of Magic, it seems that they will start with low level classes to meet a certain standard.
In fact, Quentin Worgman, who has been involved in the first day, has enough knowledge - and still not far from Sharon - to show the achievements he has learned from good teachers in Doctus.
The next possible factor is the examination system here.
This is the School of Magic and it is no exaggeration to say that magical talent determines acceptance or rejection. For this reason, parents try to teach magic to children with magical talents, even if they cut back on sitting time. As a result, the level of knowledge of successful candidates is lower, lowering the level of seating so as not to create a fallout.
In fact, this group gathers more than 3 sorcery levels, and although they cannot be used at the actual level, most people can use attack magic such as fireballs (fireballs) and ice needles (icicle needles).
(In the end, you mean you can't tell me what I want to remember during junior year. Well, what's the matter......)
And it's a practical skill class, but this was also just a class of repetition of basic techniques such as chanting spells and gathering spiritual power.
There's also a reason for this, and with a little magic in freshman magic (MP), they immediately show symptoms of out of magic. For this reason, the lecturer at the college seems to be thinking about the content of the class so that it doesn't run out of magic.
(Two hours of practical skill is too boring. Even Sharon seems to be wondering if this is okay. If you try to do it at your own pace, the practical instructor can stop you...)
Instruction in practical skills was a mid twenties male lecturer named Chambers with fire and dirt attributes, who had a thin stick like a conductor stick in his right hand and had us chanting spells.
"Accurate chanting of spells is the fast way to improve magic. Repeat the spells in your attributes written here over and over again without magic! ……
I was stunned by an overly preliminary class called the chanting of spells and asked Dr. Chambers for other instruction. But he was immediately angry and yelled at him not to do anything unsolicited.
I said, "But just casting a spell doesn't work. How well magic does magic......" he argues slightly, "Shut up!" He yelled at me and blocked my words.
And he stood looking down at me,
"Every year, the chief student says the same thing. Only such a guy, if he lets his magic be used by his liking, will soon lose his magic and be put in charge of the emergency room. He seems confident that he can use it somewhat, but throw away that pride."
"My level is level twenty-five with the wind attribute. And even in action..."
And when I said, "Follow my instructions!," he yelled, waving down the stick in his hand.
I avoid it reflexively.
Dr. Chambers, who shook the sky, had stared at me, but I pretended not to notice, bowed my head, "OK," and joined the chanting of the spell.
I come up with something while I'm chanting spells.
(Right! You're being chanted a spell, so if you practice gathering the power of spirits of different attributes than spells, you might be able to do compound magic well......)
Here's what I thought.
Interfering with the power of the Spirit of the Wind Attribute while casting the spell of the Fire Attribute. I wondered if training that felt like parallel thinking about the spell of fire attributes in the mouth and the magic of wind attributes in the mind would be advantageous when creating the composite magic of two attributes.
He then builds the magic of a whirlwind blade (windblade) while casting a fireball (fireball) spell with other students.
"God of Fire (Ignis), who commands fire. I do not seek the fierce flame of your family, the Spirit, and I do not give to you the power of my life. Burn my enemies! Fireball!"
With that said, in my mind,
"It is the god of wind (Wentus), who brings many winds. Tear away the wind, give me the blade of the Spirit. I do not give you the power of my life. Tear my enemies apart! Whirlwind Blade! '
Think, but the power of the Spirit of Fire really gathers.
Concentrating on the spells you chant in your mind neglects the spells you are chanting with your mouth, and the spells are doomed.
(This is harder than I thought. But somehow I got an image. To give the Spirit his magic and activate it, the image in his heart is important. But Liddy told me that the spell could complement that image. Then, against a spell chanting with your mouth, if you break some of the images in you, it should be established as weak but magical. Combine that with the magic activated in the rest of the image and you should be able to combine magic...)
For two hours I kept trying that.
Fortunately, Dr. Chambers doesn't realize what I'm doing because he can't see the power of the Spirit. Sometimes, I misspell, but that only seems to think I'm unfaithful and proper.
I just didn't see any signs of success in two hours, but I can discover how to make the most of this wasted time, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm satisfied.
(I'll tell Sharon when I get back. Because a combination of wind and fire should be capable of powerful attack magic... so, isn't a flaming storm (Firestorm) a combination of fire and wind magic? I don't know the neighborhood very well...)
Exactly unwilling to ask Dr. Chambers, I make a note to my heart to ask Liddy when I get home.
When you finish your practical skills class and go back to the classroom, you have time like a homeroom, and when it's over, you're out of school.
Regardless of my practical skills, I couldn't help but waste my seating time.
(For this hour, if you put it in the woods, you get a lot of experience. Listening to classes doesn't make much sense unless you're in third grade or higher... well, I wonder what's wrong...)
And then the homeroom ends and it's time to leave school. Normally, I would leave school immediately, but there are still a lot of students left somehow because they haven't been able to build a friendship.
Still, the dormitories in the dorm gradually leave the classroom as a group of a few, but about 30% of the students at school seem unable to move in alarm that they will float in the class when they return like this.
I didn't have to worry about that, so I could have gone home, but Sharon thought I should have made a normal friendship. For this reason, he remained in the classroom like any other student.
"Dear Zach...... No, Mr. Lockhart. Aren't you going home?
Sharon asked me that without realizing what I was thinking.
(You can invite someone, but I don't know what to do. Thanks, it feels like you're on guard about us. I guess you care what Quentin said yesterday... even though he's the son of a magician guild councillor...)
About the organization of the Sorcerer's Guild, but as far as I can tell, it feels like:
It is the Council that decides the policy of the Alliance. And its chairman is commonly known as the guild leader.
The Council is the supreme decision-making body composed of eight councillors, three advisers who are chairpersons' experience, and a total of twelve chairpersons.
Councillors are not elected in elections, but in the form of nominations from their predecessors. Formally it requires Council approval, but it has never been vetoed by the Council before.
The term of office is ten years, during which time any councillor who fails to be chairman will retire. When I say retirement, they just go down to the head of the guild's lower organization - the chair of the board of directors of this college is one of them.
This system seems to disadvantage elves of long-lived species, but ordinary (...) elves show no interest in secular guild positions. For this reason, they say the only elves left in the guild are freaks immersed in research.
Under the Council, committees for each individual policy are set up, chaired by councillors. The members of the committee are called councillors and are at the core of the guild's operations.
(Think of it this way, I guess Quentin's father is a pretty great guy. The size of the organization is inferior to the Adventurer and Mercenary guilds, but it's still one of the only top members of the organization that binds magicians. Having a twelve-year-old wouldn't even be so old, and I guess it feels like a young Hope. Anyone who is smart enough to say that at all should be on our guard, even if they are children. I don't care, I only care about Sharon...)
Sharon asked me if I would ever go home again, so I leave the classroom as I go.
After we left, the air somehow loosened up, so he wanted us to leave.
(I know somewhat by the sign detection, but I don't feel very good about it. Would you like to talk to Liddy...)
We went straight home.
On the way home, I asked Sharon what he thought of today's class.
"Right. The morning class was boring. It's all I've taught Zach and Lydia. The same was true of the practical skills classes. Will that continue forever?
"Regardless of seating, the practical technique contemplated something interesting. Draw another attribute of spell on your head during the chant of the spell..."
I will tell her what I came up with and practiced during my practical skills class.
Sharon didn't seem to understand my thoughts at first, but understanding my thoughts sparkles my eyes.
"Sounds interesting! I'll try too!
When I got home and talked to Liddy about it,
"What if I skip class? It's not like I can't advance until I'm in class."
That's what they said openly.
I said, "You don't have days of attendance or that kind of bondage?," he asked.
"Come on? I'm not counting whether anyone attended. I was in the library when class was troublesome, but I graduated properly."
(Speaking of which, there was no way you were checking the absence on the roster. If what Liddy says is true, it would be more efficient to study in the library. In the morning at the library, in the afternoon into the woods. That may be the most efficient. But this means little to me that I went into college)
I checked the college rules the next day to make sure the number of days I attended wasn't a requirement for advancement. And I decided to study myself in the library with Sharon.
