Helena clasped her red cheeks with both hands, desperately pressing down on her desire to hold her.

“I hope you come to the mansion tomorrow. After listening to your story, I have some questions, so I would like to hear a more detailed explanation and check it out. But unfortunately, I don’t have the time today, so I’ll have to go back soon.”

In addition to his words, the duke was looking at the clock behind Helena, with a light wrinkle on his forehead.

“…You must be very busy,” Helena asked hesitantly.

He suddenly came forward and kissed the back of her hand, but she didn’t know how to react because of the duke, who said he was going back because he didn’t have time.

She couldn’t understand what the Duke was thinking, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t ask him directly.

“Actually, I was on my way to the palace as I was called by the King. He told me to come by 4pm, but if I don’t leave right away, I will be late.”

“Ah…. Yes.” Helena didn’t know what to say. ‘Yes, you will be. Have a good trip.’

Why did the duke come here then? Obviously, he didn’t come here to kiss the back of her hand. That fundamental question never left her mind.

Seeing Helena’s expression, the duke smiled broadly.

“You look like you don’t understand. Do you often hear things like that because everything you think is reflected on your face?”

“Yes, sometimes…”

When Helena answered helplessly, the duke laughed out loud. For some reason, he looked very happy.

“It was an impulsive decision to come to you. On the way to the palace, I saw <Book of Knights>, and suddenly thought that I wanted to meet you.”

Having said that, the duke reached out and passed a strand of Helena’s messy hair behind her ear, and Helena hurriedly took a step back. Again, her golden cheeks were burning.

“…Um, wasn’t the duke mad at me?”

After hesitating for a long time, Helena asked with an apple-red face. For her, it was the most important thing in the world.

“Well. What do you think the answer will be?”

Instead of answering immediately, the duke asked in a light tone.

Helena looked at him. He didn’t seem angry when she saw the expressionless face on him loosen and he was smiling softly. It would be nice if the duke wasn’t angry.

“I’m sorry for coming suddenly today. More details will be available tomorrow. Let’s do it again. Come to my mansion by 2 o’clock tomorrow. You may change the time if circumstances arise. I’m going to be home all day tomorrow, so let me know what time you’re coming and I’ll send you a carriage. Can you come?”

“Yes, that is fine.”

“I’ll send you the carriage.” Helena nodded.

The duke added in a softer tone.

“The appearance of now is not bad, but I hope to see you tomorrow with a different image.”

“…Yes.”

Helena caved in this time.
