Helena replied in a voice like the duke’s and bowed politely,

“Then I look forward to meeting with you tomorrow.”

Helena greeted him and followed the duke who hurriedly left the drawing room.

When she tried to, he stopped her lightly. “You don’t need to see me off.”

Simultaneously with those words, he strode down the stairs.

Helena wasn’t the only one who was embarrassed by Duke Bronant’s departure that went as sudden as when he arrived. Jerome, who had prepared refreshments, was also startled by the sudden departure of the duke, “Miss?”

Jerome called out to Helena, who was sitting blankly in the drawing room, in a worried tone.

“How did it go? Why did the Duke go away like that? Has he canceled his order?”

“Huh? Oh no. It’s not like that, Jerome.”

Helena, who had been stunned, shook her head in embarrassment.

“He didn’t even say anything about the order.”

“He didn’t even look at the clothes you needed to sew. Did you see him ask about the clothes?”

“Yeah, he didn’t talk about the clothes at all.”

Jerome asked with a very serious face.

“Then what in the world happened during those 30 minutes? Did you cause something to happen?”

“30 minutes? It’s been that long?”

Helena asked, almost jumping. Instantly, her face turned red.

“Yes, the Duke stayed for exactly 33 minutes. I checked the time after the lady entered the drawing room. It took some time to prepare the refreshments in the kitchen, so I kept looking at the clock. What were you talking about with that face, Miss?”

“My, how is my face?”

“You look like a crazy person. Your cheeks are turning red… Did the Duke say anything bad by any chance?”

“No, it’s not like that.”

“Then what did you say?

“Just…. I didn’t say anything.”

“You didn’t say anything?”

Seeing Jerome’s expression of disbelief, Helena felt embarrassed. Since she had no experience in this kind of work, she couldn’t get around to Jerome who was worried about it.

That doesn’t mean she couldn’t tell Jerome the truth that the duke had only kissed her hand for a long time. Helena wasn’t an idiot and so naive that she couldn’t figure out what the kiss meant.

There was no way the duke would have acted like that if it wasn’t for a liking for the opposite sex or more.

‘But I can’t tell Jerome that the duke seemed interested in me.’

From the moment she said that Jerome’s worries will multiply. And that’s what is called a ‘feeling.’

It is just something that is mere and has a clear reality, not something extremely negative. So, Helena clearly explained it.

“He asked me to explain what happened, so I told him as it is, but suddenly he said he didn’t have time and said he would listen to the detailed explanation again tomorrow. Originally, he said that he had stopped by on the way to an audience with the King. He told me to come to the mansion and he will send a carriage tomorrow.”

Helena barely faltered, and then quickly looked away from Jerome.
