38. You Should Go

Miaoyu gave him a glance at his back and followed him forward out of control.

They walked into a freestanding pictorial design studio unconsciously.

Holding the scissor, Su Ruiqi looked at her dark hair before saying slowly, “What is suitable is beautiful. Sometimes you’ll be braver only when you decide to give up something.”

When he had finished speaking, he cut off the long strands of hair, which slowly fell to the ground.

Tears fell from Tang Miaoyu’s eyes.

Remaining silent, Su Ruiqi continued to cut her long and heavy hair expertly and attentively with every cut seeming relentless. He finished in an exquisite Vidal Sassoon hairstyle that tucked into the cheeks. He even covered up the mutilation on her left face with her long bangs on her forehead cleverly pinned to the left side and showing her delicate and beautiful right side of the face. Her dreamy eyes were blinking softly and infinitely charming.

Tang Miaoyu finally looked at herself in the mirror with tears continuing to drip downward due to inexplicably sadness.

Su Ruiqi kept silent and grabbed the hairdryer to dry her clean, fragrant hair. Then he used the styling water to style it before he stood behind her and looked at her in the mirror when he was finally done.

Her teary eyes open, Tang Miaoyu stared at her new look in the mirror. She was now with shoulder-length short hair who appeared clear and lovely and was fresher than ever…

Su Ruiqi looked into the teary eyes of Miaoyu in the mirror but didn’t say anything. Instead, he lifted the cape and put it aside before he sat on the couch against the glass wall. He picked up the magazine and said without looking up as he read, “My work is done. You could go now.”

Sitting in the seat and looking at Su Ruiqi in the mirror who suddenly became a bit indifferent, Miaoyu didn’t dare to make any sound. Instead, she stood up with her hands lightly putting on the edge of the chair and turned around to look at him.

Su Ruiqi remained silent and continued looking through the magazine.

With a little disappointment, Tang Miaoyu still walked towards him slowly and bent over to him  to say in a weak voice, “Thank you…”

“Don’t mention it. I don’t have much time. I have things to be busy with this afternoon…” Su Ruiqi looked up at her with a little smile and then continued to read the magazine.

Looking at him and not daring to make a sound, Tang Miaoyu silently walked out of the studio. She slowly stepped out of the shop along the spiral staircase in the surprise of the employees who were already at work. Against the shrinking cold wind, Tang Miaoyu looked up at the figure reading the magazine by the second-floor.

Su Ruiqi kept looking through the magazine until he felt that the pale eyelight from downstairs had disappeared. And then he slowly turned his head to look at the lonely and charming girl walking along the road…
