Finding Stardust

292 Student Council

She shook her head when she realized Ylsa was thinking how none of the new students was a threat to her in terms of looks. She didn't see anyone as beautiful as her today. The girl was so full of herself.

Emma couldn't stand her, just like she couldn't stand Yldwyn.

As for Marci ... Emma couldn't penetrate the girl's mind at all. This made Emma guess that Marci was approximately at level 5. For a final year student who was only 22 years old, this was an extraordinary achievement.

"You said, Marci is a multiple-element mage, didn't you?" Emma became curious about this senior of hers. She then decided to ask Ulla, who seemed to know everything and everyone. "Do you know what powers does she have?"

Ulla nodded. "Marci is a pyromancer and electromancer. She's quite powerful."

"Oh, is that so?"

No wonder Marci had so much confidence, Emma thought. She had two offensive powers. She could protect herself well.

Ulla's words reminded Emma that the perpetrator of the attack on Lyra was an electromancer from what Therius told her. The attacker managed to turn off all the cameras around the scene.

Did this mean the academy would investigate all the electromancers here? Emma also wanted to know what action was being taken by the academy to address this issue.

This kind of attack on a place that housed so many future mages like the academy was very suspicious. They certainly knew that there were many people with magical abilities, but they still dared to commit a crime.

Emma decided to look for Atila and ask her assistant about what she knew so far. Being the head of the clinic here, she must know one or two things.

"Marci is a gifted student. I give her that. When she entered the academy two years ago, she was still at level 2, but she managed to advance by three levels in just two years. Many people consider her a genius. For someone her age, she is quite tough. But of course, she is a turn off for men," said Ulla again, in her usual gossiping style.

"She is a turn off for men? Why is that?" asked Emma.

"Well, because she's too powerful. A lot of men are intimidated by her... hahaha. I think her powers actually backfire on her now. There are not many men who are more powerful than her. Most of them are so much older."

Emma shook her head when she heard Ulla's words. "So what if Marci is more powerful than most men? I think men who are intimidated by her powers don't deserve her anyway..."

Emma remembered how Haoran didn't have any powers, but he could stand tall and proud beside Emma because he knew she loved him and would never look down on him.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you defending Marci, anyway?" asked Ulla, pursing her lips. "Marci is notorious for nitpicking new students and she is a bully. I don't like her."

"I don't have to like the people you like, and you don't have to like people I like," Emma said dismissively with a shrug.

"Why is that? You are my friend. Don't we always have to agree on everything?" asked Ulla with a disappointed look. "So .. if someone hurt me .. you won't defend me? Don't you consider me a friend?"

"Gosh, Ulla. Don't be so dramatic. If someone hurt you, I would definitely defend you if you were innocent. But if you deserve the beating, I won't help you," said Emma.

Emma was not someone who defended others blindly. Even with Therius, if her husband made a mistake, Emma would not defend his actions. In fact, she would stand up and make sure he would correct his mistakes.

Maybe Emma's attitude seemed cold to other people, but this was what she was like.

"Sshh .. you guys stop talking, please. Our seniors will start the session," whispered Miri while elbowing both of them.

Finally, Emma and Ulla stopped talking and shifted their focus forward. They heard muffled shrieks from around them. They quickly looked around to find out what happened.

Ahh .. apparently, Bastian had appeared and was standing firmly on the stage.

The young man glanced at Emma, and for a moment, their eyes met. Emma raised an eyebrow, and Bastian immediately turned his gaze to the center of the room.

"Good evening, everyone. Earlier today, you have explored the campus area with the help of your seniors. I hope they explained everything clearly. If you need any assistance while you are at the academy, you can look for seniors who wear this bracelet in their hands."

Bastian raised his right hand, and the new students could see on Bastian's wrist was a black woven bracelet. The new students noticed that the other members of the student council were wearing the same black bracelets on their wrists.

Ahh .. this made things so easy to ask for help. This was very practical. As new students, they would have so many questions and concerns. They didn't always get the answers on their own if they only relied on their own research.

They also couldn't always rely on teachers to help them because the teachers in the academy were so busy and there weren't that many of them, to begin with.

"The bracelet is so cool," Miri whispered. "I want to be on the student council too."

"I think they'll ask us to elect representatives from each class to become members of the student council. Once school starts next week, we have to vote," said Ulla. "I want to apply as a student council representative from my class. How about you?"

"What's the point of being a member of the student council other than getting the bracelet?" asked Emma. "I guess it's just a blank title to make it look cool."

"Oh.. it's not just to look cool," Ulla quickly explained. "You will get some perks too!"
