Flower on the ash

Alex said smirking. I took two steps back and subconsciously I covered my upper body by my both hands.

" Don't be that scared. It's not like I'm gonna eat you alive. I was just saying you should sleep in my house tonight." he said pushing his hair back which has fallen down on his forehead. I put my hands down awkwardly.

He continued. " You can sleep in the guest room."

" Thank you." I said. We both started walking upstairs to go in our respective rooms. Alex took a left turn while I took the right. Alex's room was just in the opposite direction of the guestroom. I entered in the room and closed the door. I was still feeling very embarrassed thinking how Alex said that I wasn't wearing my undies. I walked to the mirror and stood in front of it. I looked at myself to see whether it is that obvious that I'm not wearing my underwear.

I looked at myself for several minutes in the mirror. Because of the thick cloth of white shirt it wasn't looking like that. And if it looked like that Kelly must have told me.

Ahh!!

Frustrated, I walked to the bed. I laid on the bed and tried to sleep. After twisting and turning for several minutes I finally got a comfortable position and then I fell asleep.

I woke up in the middle of the night. I can't fell asleep. I was feeling hungry. I step out of the bed and checked the time on my phone.

" It 2:30 right now. I can't wait until morning." I said to myself, fake crying. It was still raining and thundering outside. I got out of the room to drink some water. Walking down the stairs, I headed to the Kitchen.

When I was about to enter the kitchen something caught my eyes. Dates were kept on the dinning table. My pregnant self can't hold back the excitement to taste it.

" Nobody will know if I eat one." I thought to myself and reached out to pick one and put it in my mouth. It was sweet and very delicious. My eyes sparkled at how tasty it was. I couldn't control myself and started eating one after another when I heard someone's footstep. I looked back from where the sound of footstep came but I see no one.

" Maybe I just imagined it. " I said to myself and started to eat the one which was in my hand.

" What do you think you are doing?" someone said from behind and I frozed. I turned around quickly to see who was there. I stumbled backwards as I was scared when I see a man with hair all over his face standing just behind me.

AHH!!!

I closed my eyes as I was going to fall but the ground never came. Someone grabbed my waist and prevent me from falling down. I slowly opened my eyes.

" What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" it was Alex. He made me stand on my own feet. He was only in his trouser with his bare muscled chest and his hair was all messed up.

" I-I came here to drink some water." I stuttered as my heart was still beating very fast.

" But you are here stealing my things." he said looking at the bowl of dates and it's seeds on the table which I ate. I covered the seeds with my palm.

" I wasn't stealing. It was just looking delicious so I ate one." I said looking in his eyes and he raised his eyebrow, folding his hands.

" Okay. I ate a few of them." I gave up lying and withdrew my hands from the seeds.

" Here you go." Alex said handling me a glass of water.

" Thanks." I said and drank it in one go.

" Want to eat something else?" Alex asked and I shook my head as 'NO'.

" Let's go to sleep." he said and started walking when suddenly he stopped and came back to stand in front of me, " You should take care of yourself and the baby well." he said and gave me a kiss on my forehead. He turned around and walked away while I was still standing there blushing and I touching my forehead where he kissed me. I ran upstairs to the room and jumped on the bed, hiding my face in the pillow.

Why I am feeling my cheeks burning. I can't believe that he kissed me. Ahh... What should I do? I'm feeling...weird. I tried to put myself to sleep but I can't. I was still thinking about Alex. Whenever I think about him the incident in the hall starts showing up in my mind. If this continues I won't be able to face him tomorrow.
