Flower on the ash

Morning came fast and I got up from the bed. I was still feeling tired as I slept late at night because of Alex. Thinking about Alex I again blushed hard. I got off the bed and walked towards the bathroom to freshen-up. I came out and went downstairs to see Alex drinking coffee and reading newspaper. I walked towards him and he looked towards me.

" Good morning." he said in a calm voice.

"G-Good morning." I said. He put the newspaper aside and walked towards me with a bag.

" I have bought you clothes. Your clothes are still wet from rain. " he said giving me the bag.

" You should take a shower. I'll prepare breakfast for you."

" Okay. Thanks." I said with a smile and started towards the guestroom. I took a bath and came out of the bathroom with a towel. I dried my hair and opened the bag. He bought me a pair of jeans and a white cloured top. There was also a new set of underwears in it. I put on the clothes. It fitted me perfectly. 'How does he know my size' I wondered. I went down to see Alex. He had already started to prepare the breakfast when I arrived.

" Let me help you." I offered walking towards Alex in the Kitchen. He looked towards me when heard my voice and nodded.

" I got the correct size of your dress." he said and smiled at me.

" Yep." I said and cracked two eggs in a bowl. I started beating it. We were preparing pancakes for breakfast.

" Isn't Kelvin home?" I asked Alex. I didn't see Kelvin after he left to drop Kelly to a new house.

" Why he would be here? He has his own house." Alex said as he put the batter on the frying pan.

" Oh. I thought you guys live together." I said looking at him.

" Sometimes we do." he said and took off the pankcake and put another scoop of batter in it.

" You live in this house all alone?" I asked. How can he manage such a big house on his own.

" No. My housekeeper Nanny Zhao live here, but I gave her holiday for a week. It's her granddaughter's wedding." Alex said and I nodded my head in acknowledgement. We prepared all the pancakes from the batter and I pour two glasses of fruit juice. We sat and had our breakfast.

" Thank you for your hospitality. I'll head to the company now." I said after we were done eating and doing dishes.

" Let's go to the company together." Alex proposed.

" No. I have to go early today. I still have some work left. I can't wait for you." I said. Alex and my timing to enter company has difference of two hours. I can't wait or else my work schedule will be affected.

" You don't need to wait for me. I'll go company early today with you." he said and walked off to change his clothes. I was waiting in the hall for him when my phone rang. It was an unknown number. I picked up the call.

" Hello." I said.

" Hello, Anna. It's me. Penelope." the woman's voice said.

" Oh. Hii Penelope." I greeted.

" I need your help, Anna. Are you free this evening?" Penelope said.

" Yeah. I'm free. How can I help you?" I asked.

" I need to give an invitation card to someone but I don't want to go there alone. Will you please accompany me?" Penelope asked in a requesting tone.

" Okay. But at what time?" I asked and saw Alex coming downstairs.

" Ok."

"Thank you. Bye." Penelope said and ended the call. I put my phone back in the bag and left the house with Alex. We both walked towards the garage where his car was parked.

" Get in." Alex said and opened the passenger's seat door. I got in and he closed the door. He walked towards his side and seated himself. He started his car and headed to the company. We didn't talk much during the drive and within a few minutes we reached the company. He pulled over his car in the company's basement and took the elevator to our cabin. Alex headed towards the cabin while I went to prepare coffee for him. I came back to the cabin with the coffee and saw Alex reading the files which I had put on the table yesterday.

" Here's your coffee , Sir." I said and pushed the cup to him. He put aside the file and took the cup in his hand.

" I'm thinking about giving you a vacation." he said after taking a sip of coffee.

" For what?" I asked.

" You are pregnant Anna. You should rest properly." he said and took another sip.

" But I don't want it. I'll get bored all day. And by the way I'm fine. If I feel the need to take holiday I will ask you directly." I said trying to pursue him. I can't sit idle all day long in my home and watch the drama of my so called family. I like to work here.

" Ok. As you wish but don't exhauste yourself too much from work." he said and I nodded my head.

" I'm taking you to the hospital tomorrow for a daily check-up." he said putting the cup aside which he just finished. "Be ready at 11a.m. tomorrow. I'll pick you up from your house."

" Okay,sir." I said and with that I walked to my cabin.
