Flower on the ash

Alex explained me everything and again sat on the chair in front of me. I did the rest of my work quickly. I stretched my body when I was done with my work. I looked at Alex and found he was staring at me.

" You hungry?" Alex asked me.

" No." I said and then my stomach growled. "Maybe a little." I said awkwardly.

" Sit here. I'll bring you some food." he said and left the office. He came back after fifteen minutes or so and put the supper on my table.

" Come, Sit." I said to Alex and he sat down. I opened the packet. He had bought sandwiches, chips and cakes for dessert. He both started eating our food, savouring it's taste. It was very delicious.

" I'll drop you home after lunch." Alex said when he finished his food and was now going to start with his dessert.

" No need. I'll take a cab. I'm going to Penelope's house." I said and finished my chips.

" Why?" he asked.

I pointed at the parcel box near my table and said, " To get ready. She asked me to come to her home early so that we could have a little chat first."

" Then I'll drop you to her house." he said and had finished eating. He wiped his hands and waited for me to compete my lunch.

" As you wish." I said and took a spoonful of cake into my mouth. It tasted good but the cream...

Bleh!!!

I vomited all what I ate before. Alex came and stood near me. I was going to tell him to go away as I didn't want to be seen in this condition but instead I vomited more. Alex grabbed my hair in one hand and stroked my back with other. I was sweating hard and a few drops of tear rolled down from my eyes. I again vomited. I kneeled down on the washroom's floor as no more strength was left in my knees. Alex picked me up from the floor and carried me to his cabin. He put me down on his couch and wiped my sweat and tears soaked face. I was panting hard. He lifted his phone and dialed someone.

" Hello, Aunt Sen." Alex spoke through the phone.

" Anna is not feeling well...she vomited...Ok...bye." I heard him say all these to Aunt Sen. He then dialed another person through his phone.

" Hello. Bring some light nutritious soup to my cabin." he said and ended the call and put his phone back to his pocket.

" I-I'm fine." I said to him when I saw him frowning because he was worried for me. He stroked my head and nodded.

After some time Alex's driver came with a container in his hand. He put it on the table and left. Alex opened the container. I looked inside the container. It contained soup which Alex ordered. He grabbed a spoon, filled it with soup and blowed it to cool down a little. He brought the spoon near my mouth and signaled me to open my mouth.

" I can drink it on my own." I said but Alex stayed in the same position. I slowly opened my mouth and took the soup in from his hand.

" It's bald." I said crunching my nose. All the tasty food I had was changed to a tasteless soup.

" But it's nutritious and good for your body." he said and filled another spoon of soup for me to drink. Alex made me drink all the soup ignoring my all whining.

I felt all good again and stood up from Alex's chair.

" You're welcome." he said and pushed a stray strand of my hair back to my ear with his finger. I smiled even more because of his action.

" What time is it?" I asked him.

" 4:30." He said.

" Oh. Can you drop me to Penelope's house?" I asked and he nodded. " Ok then. Wait for a moment." I said and dashed to my cabin to take my phone and the parcel.

" Let's go." I said to him.

" Let me carry it." he said and took away the parcel from my hand.

" Thanks." I said and we both started to walk. We reached where Alex's car was parked and sat inside. Alex started the car.

We were on the way when my phone started to ring. It was Penelope.

" Hello." I said on the phone.

" Where are you Anna? I'm waiting for you." Penelope said.

" I'm on my way to your house. I'll reach there in a minute." I said.

" Ok. Come fast." she said and hung up the call.

We reached at Penelope's house within 5 minutes. Alex stopped his car in front of her house.

" We have reached." he said and looked towards me.

" Thank you for the ride, Alex." I said with a smile. " I'll be going then." I said and got off the car with the parcel in my hand. I closed the door and knocked on the window. Alex rolled the window down.

" Bye." I said waving my hand.

" Bye." he said and drove off.
