Flower on the ash

I was waiting at the door with Penelope when someone opened the door. It was Kelvin. I entered the room with drunk Penelope and closed the door behind.

" Hii everyone." Penelope said happily looking at all of them. They all looked at Penelope with a weird expression.

" Ah. She is a little drunk." I said looking at them awkwardly.

" Little? Really?" Graham said with a raised eyebrow.

Penelope walked up to a couch in front of Alex and Graham and flopped on it like a child. I walked up and sat beside her. Kelvin gave me a glass of water and I accepted it with a thanks.

" We thought we will have a little chat among us but it seems otherwise." Alex said and looked at Penelope. " Did you also drink?" Alex asked me with a dangerous expression.

" Of course not. I had an orange juice." I said.

" How's Kelly?" I asked Kelvin who was sitting on an another couch beside us.

" Fine." Kelvin replied.

" Can I meet her?" I asked. I really wanted to see Kelly and talk to her face to face.

" Yeah. You can come tomorrow with Alex after work." he said with a smile. We were all chatting with each other when suddenly Penelope stood up from her seat. We all looked at her. She walked across the room and came to stand in front of Graham. She grabbed Graham by his tie and angrily said, "How can you not talk to me even if I'm ignoring you!"

" I-I~" Graham was trying to process what to say.

" Don't say anything you abcd." she said. Abcd? This is how she addressess someone when she is drunk and angry at the same time.

" I think we should leave them alone." Kelvin said and stood. Alex nodded his head and also stood up.

" Let's go Anna." Alex said forwarding his hand for me to hold.

" But~" I wanted to protest. Is it okay to leave Penelope with Graham?

" They will be okay. Trust me." he said and made me stand from the couch. We all headed outside except Penelope and Graham. They were still in the private room. Kelvin left for his home and me and Alex were wandering in the hotel's garden.

" Do you think it will be safe to leave them alone like this?" I asked Alex.

" I trust both Graham and Penelope. It will be better for both of them if they sort out their misunderstandings." he said. We both were walking in the garden.

" You know Graham very well." I said with a smile.

" Of course. We know each other since I was small." he said and stopped near the water fountain.

" Sit." he said and we both sat on the bench near fountain.

" Are you okay? How's your health?" he asked and fixed my hair strand which fell on my face because of wind.

" Great. Just that I feel really tired these days. I sleep like there's no tomorrow." I said with a chuckle.

" Do you regret it?" he asked. I was shocked because I have never actually thought about it. All of this happened so fast.

" I think that I don't actually regret it. Maybe it was all fated." I said with a sigh.

" Anna, let's get married." he said and I was a little taken back because of the sudden proposal.

" I know you will say to think about it first but I have already thought about it. See Anna I'm very patient when it comes to making decisions but I don't want to be patient with you." he said and continued after a sigh, "If you didn't like me after getting married you are free to make any decision and I'll support it."

I chuckled hearing him say all these things. " It's not like that. I like you now." I said and he looked at me with surprised eyes.Yes I actually like him. He has never hurt me and respected me in every way possible. He can be bossy at times but other than that I think he's a nice person.I continued~ "You are a nice man Alex. Getting married to a man like you is every girl's dream."

" Then do you agree to get married to me?" he asked again for confirmation.

" Yes. We can get married when a good time comes." I said and he smiled.

" How are you feeling?" he asked and touched my stomach with his hand. I smiled at his action.

" I'm fine. I just feel nauseous when I eat creamy things." I said. I shivered when cold wind started to blow. Alex took of his coat which he was wearing and put it around my shoulder.

" Thanks." I said. The coat was warm and smells of Alex.

" Let's go. You look tired." he said and we started to walk to the parking area of the hotel. We both sat on the car and soon reached my house. I took out my house keys from the glovebox and was going to get off the car when Alex stopped me by holding my hands. I turned around and looked at him. He leaned towards me and kissed me on my forehead.

" Take care." he said with a soft smile. I nodded my head and said goodbye to him. I got off the car stood there until Alex's car was out of my sight.
