Flower on the ash

I washed myself up when I reached my room. I changed my clothes into a skirt and white shirt and braided my hair. I grabbed my purse and bag as it was almost the time of breakfast. I went downstairs and sat on the table with others already sitting.

" When did you came last night?" my father asked me as Nanny served us food.

" I came back around 12 at midnight." I lied and stuffed my mouth with food. My father nodded his head.

" Won't you say something to her? It's so immoral for girls to come back late at night." my step-mother butted in.

Before my father could say something I spoke, "What can I do? Mr. Wilson gave me a lot of work to do. I can't let them undone or else he will get angry and our reputation will be damaged." I said and sighed. I'm sorry Alex to use you as a bait.

" She is right. We can't make Mr.Wilson angry. If he withdraw his shares our company will fall down." he said. I knew by using Alex's name I can easily handle the situation. I finished the rest of the food on my plate and left for work. When I entered into the company I saw Penelope was also arriving. I stood on the side and waited for her.

" Hii Anna." Penelope said happily looking at me.

" Hii." I said smiling back. "I'm sorry to leave you alone in the party." I apologized.

" It's okay." she said and we both started walking towards the elevator.

" What happened after we left?" I asked her and entered in the elevator. I usually take President's elevator but since I was talking to Penelope I took the general elevator with her.

" I don't remember anything that happened at night but in the morning I saw that I was sleeping with Graham." she said and pressed the floor button for both of us.

" Then?" I asked her.

" I bite his hand and run off." she said and laughed.

" Aren't you angry with me that I left you alone with Graham?" I asked her. She looked at me and shook her head.

" I'm not angry with you. I'm sure it was Alex who told you to leave." she said and sighed.

" How do you know?" I asked.

" Because he always tries that me and Graham patch up again." she said looking at me.

" Will you forgive Graham?" I asked not sure whether I should have asked or not. But I felt relieved when she didn't mind that.

" I will. But not so easily. He will have to compensate for leaving me." she said and smirked. Her floor came and she got off the elevator. We waved her at each other when elevator door closed again. After I reached my floor I walked up to my cabin. Today me and Alex both had a little extra work as we didn't catch up to our yesterday's schedule. I sat in my cabin and started doing my work in computer. I typed and typed on my computer until I saw that it was 11:00 a.m. now. I got up from my seat and saw Alex had came. Alex always arrives sharply at 11o'clock. I said Good Morning to him and left to make coffee.

" Sir. There's a meeting for the discussion of finance issue of Country Z in fifteen minutes." I informed him and he nodded.

" Go and give this file to Kelvin." he said and pushed a file towards me. I picked it up and left with a bow. Kelvin's cabin was across Alex's. I knocked on the door to get Kelvin's permission.

" Come in." he said without looking at me. He was busy writing something. His office is a little smaller than Alex's but well furnished.

" Mr.Wilson, President has sent this file to you." I said putting the file on his table. When he heard my voice he looked up.

" Thank you." he said. I bowed my head and left. I headed back into the cabin.

" Done?" Alex asked when he saw me entering. I nodded my head as yes.

" Let's go to the meeting." he said and buttoned up his coat which was previously opened.

" Yes, Sir." I said and quickly grabbed the required files which was needed for the meeting. We both walked up to the elevator and saw Kelvin already waiting there. We three headed in the elevator and clicked on floor 29. The elevator door opened to reveal two meeting rooms. We entered the room on left hand side and saw everyone else sitting there already. Everyone was mummuring to each other. We walked inside and took our respective seats.

" Everyone is here now. Let's start the meeting." Alex announced and the whole room fell silent.
